Baruch 5

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Jerusalem, take off your dress of sorrow and distress, put on the beauty of God's glory for evermore,	1 O Ierusalem, spògliati la stola del pianto e del tuo tormento; e vèstiti di bellezza e di onore, lo quale è a te da Dio, in gloria sempiterna.
2 wrap the cloak of God's saving justice around you, put the diadem of the Eternal One's glory on yourhead,	2 Iddio ti circonderà come una scarsella di giustizia, e porrà al tuo capo la mitria dello eterno onore.
3 for God means to show your splendour to every nation under heaven,	3 Però che Iddio dimostrerà lo suo splendore in te [ad ognuno] lo quale è sotto lo cielo.
4 and the name God gives you for evermore wil be, 'Peace-through-Justice, and Glory-through-Devotion'.	4 Lo tuo nome sarà nominato a te da Iddio in sempiterno; pace di giustizia e onore di pietade.
5 Arise, Jerusalem, stand on the heights and turn your eyes to the east: see your children reassembledfrom west and east at the Holy One's command, rejoicing because God has remembered.	5 Lièvati suso, Ierusalem, e istà in alto, e ragguarda inverso oriente, e vedi li tuoi figliuoli ragunati d'oriente infino ad occidente, nella parola del Santo rallegrandosi dell' arricordamento di Dio. (Questo Santo s'intende lo profeta).
6 Though they left you on foot driven by enemies, now God brings them back to you, carried gloriously,like a royal throne.	6 Però che uscirono da te menati colli piedi dalli nimici; ma lo Signore adducerà a te quelli, portati in onore come figliuoli del regno.
7 For God has decreed the flattening of each high mountain, of the everlasting hills, the fil ing of theval eys to make the ground level so that Israel can walk safely in God's glory.	7 Però che Iddio ordinò, che i grandi monti si umiliassono, e le rupi grandi e sempiterne; e le valli riempiere in la egualità della terra, acciò che Israel vada diligentemente allo onore di Dio. (Ove s' intende per li monti, li superbi che si tengono grandi e alti, e poi caggiono; e per le rupi, i ricchi che credono istare sempremai, ed eglino sono fatti come le rupi, che sempre istanno in su lo cadere).
8 And the forests and every fragrant tree wil provide shade for Israel, at God's command;	8 E le selve e ogni [legno di] soavità d' Israel adombrò per lo comandamento di Dio.
9 for God wil guide Israel in joy by the light of his glory, with the mercy and saving justice which comefrom him. A copy of the letter which Jeremiah sent to those about to be led captive to Babylon by the king of theBabylonians, to tel them what he had been commanded by God:	9 E Iddio adducerà Israel con giocondità nello lume della sua maestà, con misericordia e con giustizia, la quale è da lui.
