Jeremiah 22

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Matos Soares
1 Yahweh said this, 'Go down to the palace of the king of Judah and there say this word,	1 Assim, fala o Senhor: Desce à casa do rei de Judá e fala-lhe nestes termos:
2 "Listen to the word of Yahweh, king of Judah now occupying the throne of David, you, your officials andyour people who go through these gates.	2 Ouve a palavra do Senhor, ó rei de Judá, que te sentas sobre o trono de Davide, tu e os teus servos e o teu povo, que entrais por estas portas.
3 Yahweh says this: Act uprightly and justly; rescue from the hands of the oppressor anyone who hasbeen wronged, do not exploit or il -treat the stranger, the orphan, the widow; shed no innocent blood in thisplace.	3 Assim fala o Senhor: Cumpri o direito e a justiça, livrai o oprimido da mão do opressor, não maltrateis o estrangeiro, nem o órfão, nem a viúva, não os oprimais injustamente, não derrameis sangue inocente neste lugar.
4 For if you are scrupulous in obeying this command, then kings occupying the throne of David willcontinue to make their entry through the gates of this palace riding in chariots or on horseback, they, theirofficials and their people.	4 Se verdadeiramente procederdes conforme o que vos digo, entrarão pelas portas desta casa reis herdeiros do trono de Davide, levados em carros e cavalos, com os seus servos e o seu povo.
5 But if you do not listen to these words, then I swear by myself, Yahweh declares, this palace shalbecome a ruin!	5 Mas, se não ouvirdes estas palavras, juro por mim mesmo, diz o Senhor, que esta casa será convertida num deserto (ou ruína).
6 "Yes, this is what Yahweh says about the palace of the king of Judah: You are like Gilead to me, like apeak of Lebanon. Al the same, I wil reduce you to a desert, to uninhabited towns.	6 Porque assim fala o Senhor acerca da casa do rei de Judá: Tu eras para mim como um Galaad, como o cimo do Líbano! Pois farei de ti um deserto, uma solidão.
7 I dedicate men to destroy you, each man with his weapons; they will cut down your finest cedars andthrow them on the fire.	7 E destinarei contra ti destruidores, cada um com as suas armas: cortarão os teus cedros escolhidos e os arrojarão ao fogo.
8 "And when many nations pass this city, they wil say to one another: Why has Yahweh treated thisgreat city like this?	8 Passarão muitas gentes por esta cidade, dizendo uns aos outros: Por que tratou Deus assim esta grande cidade?
9 And the answer wil be: Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh their God to worship othergods and serve them." '	9 Ser-lhes-á respondido: É porque abandonaram a aliança do Senhor seu Deus, porque adoraram deuses estranhos e os serviram.
10 Do not weep for the man who is dead, do not raise the dirge for him. Weep rather for the one who hasgone away, since he wil never come back, never see his native land again.	10 Não choreis o morto (rei Josias), nem tomeis dó por ele; chorai antes aquele que parte (o rei Joacaz), porque não voltará mais (do cativeiro), não verá mais a terra onde nasceu.
11 For this is what Yahweh has said about Shallum son of Josiah, king of Judah, who succeeded Josiahhis father and was forced to leave this place, 'He wil never come back to it	11 Porque isto diz o Senhor, a respeito de Selum, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, que reinou em lugar de seu pai Josias e que saiu deste lugar: Não tornará cá mais,
12 but wil die in the place to which he has been taken captive; and he wil never see this country again.	12 mas morrerá no lugar, para onde o transferi; não verá jamais esta terra.
13 'Disaster for the man who builds his house without uprightness, his upstairs rooms without fairjudgement, who makes his fel ow-man work for nothing, without paying him his wages,	13 Ai daquele que edifica a sua casa com a injustiça, e os seus galões com a iniquidade; que obriga a trabalhar de graça o seu próximo, que não lhe paga o salário;
14 who says, "I shal build myself a spacious palace with airy upstairs rooms," who makes windows in it,panels it with cedar, and paints it vermilion.	14 que diz: Edificarei para mim uma casa espaçosa, magníficos salões, de amplas janelas, com tectos de cedro, pintados de vermelho!
15 Are you more of a king because of your passion for cedar? Did your father go hungry or thirsty? Buthe did what is just and upright, so al went wel for him.	15 És, porventura, rei para rivalizar com outros no emprego do cedro? Porventura teu pai (o piedoso Josias), não comeu e bebeu e foi feliz, praticando a equidade e a justiça?
16 He used to examine the cases of poor and needy, then al went wel . Is not that what it means to knowme? Yahweh demands.	16 Julgou a causa do pobre e do indigente para bem seu. Não é isto conhecer-me, diz o Senhor?
17 You on the other hand have eyes and heart for nothing but your own interests, for shedding innocentblood and perpetrating violence and oppression.'	17 Mas os teus olhos e coração sòmente buscam o teu interesse e derramar sangue inocente, praticar opressão e violência.
18 That is why Yahweh says this about Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: 'No lamenting for him,"My poor brother! My poor sister!" No lamenting for him, "His poor lordship! His poor majesty!"	18 Portanto assim fala o Senhor a Joaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá: Não o lamentarão (dizendo): Ai irmão! Ai irmã! Não o chorarão clamando: Ai Senhor! Ai Majestade!
19 He wil have a donkey's funeral -- dragged away and thrown out of the gates of Jerusalem.'	19 A sua sepultura será como a do asno; será arrastado e lançado fora das portas de Jerusalém.
20 'Climb the Lebanon range and shriek, raise your voice in Bashan, shriek from the Abarim, for al yourlovers have been ruined!	20 Sobe ao Líbano e clama; em Basan levanta a tua voz, grita do alto do monte de Abarim, porque todos os teus amigos foram despedaçados.
21 I spoke to you in your prosperity, but you said, "I wil not listen!" From your youth this has been howyou behaved, refusing to listen to my voice.	21 Falei-te no tempo da tua abundância, mas disseste: Não ouvirei. Tem sido este o teu proceder desde a tua mocidade: não escutas a minha voz.
22 The wind will shepherd al your shepherds away and your lovers wil go into captivity. Then you wilblush deep with shame at the thought of al your wickedness.	22 Todos os teus pastores, o vento os levará a pastar, e os teus amigos irão para o cativeiro; então te cobrirás de confusão e vergonha, por causa de toda a tua malícia.
23 You who have made the Lebanon your home and made your nest among the cedars, how you wilgroan when anguish overtakes you, pangs like those of a woman in labour!	23 Tu que tens o teu assento no Líbano e fazes o teu ninho nos seus cedros, como gemerás quando te vierem as dores, dores como de mulher que está de parto!
24 'As I live, Yahweh declares, even if Coniah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, were the signet ring onmy right hand, I would stil wrench you off!	24 (Juro) pela minha vida, diz o Senhor, que ainda que Jeconias, filho de Joaquim, rei de Judá, fosse um anel na minha mão direita, eu o arrancaria dela.
25 I shal hand you over to those determined to kill you, to those you dread, to Nebuchadnezzar king ofBabylon, to the Chaldaeans.	25 Eu te entregarei na mão dos que procuram tirar-te a vida, na mão daqueles que te fazem tremer, na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, e na mão dos Caldeus.
26 I shal hurl you and the mother who bore you into another country; you were not born there but youwil both die there.	26 Enviar-te-ei a ti e a tua mãe (Noesta), que te deu à luz, a uma terra estranha, em que não nascestes, e aí morrereis.
27 They wil not return to the country to which they desperately long to return.'	27 E à terra (da Judeia), a que aspiram ardentemente voltar, não tornarão.
28 Is he a shoddy broken pot, this man Coniah, a crock that no one wants? Why are he and his offspringejected, hurled into a country they know nothing of?	28 Acaso este homem, Jeconias, é um utensílio vil e quebrado? Acaso é um objecto indesejável? Por que foram rejeitados, ele e a sua linhagem, e arrojados para uma terra que não conheciam?
29 O land, land, land, listen to the word of Yahweh!	29 Terra, terra, terra, ouve a palavra o Senhor!
30 Yahweh says this, 'List this man as: Childless; a man who made a failure of his life, since none of hisoffspring wil succeed in occupying the throne of David, or ruling in Judah again.'	30 Eis o que diz o Senhor: Inscrevei este homem (nos registos genealógicos dos reis, desta maneira): Varão sem sucessores, com os dias repletos de desastres. Com efeito não sairá da sua linhagem varão que se sente sobre o trono de Davide, que venha a reinar sobre Judá.
