1 When Solomon had finished building the Temple of Yahweh, the royal palace and everything else whichSolomon had wanted to do,	1 Quando Salomão acabou de edificar a casa do Senhor, o palácio do rei e tudo o que tinha desejado fazer,
2 Yahweh appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.	2 apareceu-lhe o Senhor segunda vez, como tinha aparecido em Gabaon.
3 Yahweh said to him, 'I have heard your prayer and the entreaty which you have before me. I consecratethis temple which you have built: I place my name there for ever; my eyes and my heart wil be there always.	3 O Senhor disse-lhe: Eu ouvi a tua oração e a súplica, que me dirigiste; santifiquei esta casa, que me edificaste, a fim de nela estabelecer para sempre o meu nome: nela estarão sempre os meus olhos e o meu coração.
4 For your part, if you walk before me in innocence of heart and in honesty, like your father David, if youdo everything that I command and keep my laws and my ordinances,	4 E tu, se andares na minha presença, como andou teu pai, em simplicidade e rectidão de coração, se fizeres tudo o que tenho mandado, guardando as minhas leis e as minhas ordenações,
5 I shal make your royal throne secure over Israel for ever, as I promised your father David when I said,"You wil never lack for a man on the throne of Israel."	5 eu estabelecerei o trono do teu reino sobre Israel para sempre, como prometi a Davide, teu pai, dizendo: Não faltará nunca um homem da tua linhagem no trono de Israel.
6 But if you turn away from me, either you or your descendants, and instead of keeping mycommandments and laws which I have laid down for you, you go and serve other gods and worship them,	6 Porém se, obstinadamente, vos desviardes de mim, vós e vossos filhos, não me seguindo nem guardando os preceitos e as ordens que vos dei, se vos retirardes e prestardes culto a deuses estranhos, e os adorardes,
7 then I shal banish Israel from the country which I have given them, and shall disown this Temple which Ihave consecrated for my name, and Israel will be a proverb and a byword among al peoples.	7 eu exterminarei Israel da terra que lhe dei, dançarei para longe da minha presença o templo que consagrei ao meu nome, e Israel será objecto de sarcasmo e de troça para todos os povos.
8 As for this once-exalted Temple, everyone who passes by wil be appal ed, and they wil whistle and say,"Why has Yahweh treated this country and this Temple like this?"	8 Esta casa (feita em ruínas) servirá de exemplo (da minha justiça); todo o que passar por diante dela, ficará pasmado, desprezá-la-á e dirá: Por que tratou o Senhor assim esta terra e este templo?
9 And the answer wil be, "Because they deserted Yahweh their God who brought their ancestors out ofEgypt, and they adopted other gods and worshipped and served them; that is why Yahweh has brought al thesedisasters on them." '	9 Responder-lhe-ão: Porque estes povos deixaram o Senhor, seu Deus, que tirou seus pais da terra do Egipto, porque seguiram deuses estranhos, prostraram-se diante deles e adoraram-nos; por isso o Senhor descarregou sobre eles todo este mal.
10 At the end of the twenty years that it took Solomon to erect the two buildings, the Temple of Yahwehand the royal palace	10 Passados os vinte anos, durante os quais Salomão edificou as duas casas, Isto é, a casa do Senhor, e a casa do rei,
11 (Hiram king of Tyre had provided Solomon with al the cedar wood, juniper wood and gold that hewanted), King Solomon gave Hiram twenty towns in the territory of Galilee.	11 (mandando Hirão, rei de Tiro, a Salomão madeira de cedro e cipreste, e ouro, tanto quanto era mister) Salomão deu a Hirão vinte cidades no país da Galileia.
12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to view the towns that Solomon had given him, he was not pleasedwith them.	12 Hirão saiu de Tiro para ver as cidades que Salomão lhe tinha dado, mas não lhe agradaram,
13 He said, 'What kind of towns are these you have given me, brother?' And to this day they are known as'cabul-land'.	13 e disse: São estas, irmão, as cidades que me deste? E chamou-as terra de Cabul, (nome que conservam) até ao dia de hoje.
14 Hiram sent the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.	14 (Hirão tinha também mandado ao rei Salomão cento e vinte talentos de ouro),
15 This is an account of the forced labour levied by King Solomon for building the Temple of Yahweh, hisown palace, the Mil o and the fortifications of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, Gezer	15 O motivo que o rei Salomão teve para lançar um tributo (sobre o seu povo) foi a grande despesa que fez para edificar a casa do Senhor, a sua casa, Melo, os muros de Jerusalém, Heser, Magedo e Gazer.
16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt mounted an expedition, captured Gezer, burnt it down and massacred theCanaanites living there; he then gave the town as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife,	16 Faraó, rei do Egipto, subiu, tomou Gazer e queimou-a, matando os Cananeus que habitavam na cidade, e deu-a em dote a sua filha, mulher de Salomão.
17 and Solomon rebuilt Gezer), Lower Beth-Horon,	17 Salomão reedificou Gazer, Betoron-a-Baixa,
18 Baalath, Tamar in the desert, inside the country,	18 Balaat e Palmira, na terra do deserto.
19 al Solomon's storage towns owned by Solomon, al the towns for his chariots and horses, andwhatever Solomon was pleased to build in Jerusalem, in the Lebanon and in al the countries under his rule.	19 Fortificou todas as aldeias destinadas a entrepostos, e que não tinham muros, as cidades destinadas a carros (de guerra), as cidades destinadas a gente de cavalo, e tudo o que lhe aprouve edificar em Jerusalém, no Líbano e em toda a extensão dos seus domínios,
20 Al those who survived of the Amorite, Hittite, Perizzite, Hivite and Jebusite peoples, who were notIsraelites-	20 Toda a gente que tinha ficado dos Amorreus, dos Heteus, dos Ferezeus, dos Heveus, dos Jebuseus, que não eram dos filhos de Israel,
21 their descendants still remaining in the country on whom the Israelites had not been able to enforce thecurse of destruction -- these Solomon levied as forced labourers, as is stil the case today.	21 os filhos destes (povos) que tinham ficado no país, que os filhos de Israel não puderam exterminar, Salomão empregou-os como escravos de trabalhos pesados, o que ainda hoje, continuam a ser.
22 Solomon did not, however, impose forced labour on the Israelites; for they were soldiers, his officials,his administrators, his officers and his chariot and cavalry commanders.	22 Quanto aos filhos de Israel, Salomão determinou que nenhum servisse (de escravo), mas que fossem seus homens de guerra, seus servidores, seus primeiros oficiais, capitães, comandantes dos carros de guerra e da cavalaria.
23 There were five hundred and fifty officials in charge of the foremen over Solomon's work, whosupervised the people employed on the work.	23 Havia quinhentos e cinqüenta homens estabelecidos sobre todas as obras de Salomão, os quais tinham o povo sujeito às suas ordens e eram os superintendentes de todas as obras determinadas.
24 After Pharaoh's daughter had moved from the City of David up to the palace which he had built for her,he then built the Mil o.	24 Veio a filha de Faraó da cidade de Davide para a casa, que lhe tinha edificado Salomão, o qual então edificou Melo.
25 Three times a year Solomon presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices on the altar which hehad built for Yahweh and set his burnt offerings smoking before Yahweh. Thus he completed the Temple.	25 Oferecia Salomão, três vezes cada ano, holocaustos e vitimas pacíficas, sobre o altar que tinha levantado ao Senhor, e queimava perfumes diante do Senhor. E completou-se o templo.
26 King Solomon equipped a fleet at Ezion-Geber, which is near Elath on the shores of the Red Sea, inEdom.	26 Equipou também o rei Salomão uma frota em Asiongaber, que é perto de Ailat, na praia do mar Vermelho, na terra da Iduméa.
27 For this fleet Hiram sent men of his, experienced sailors, to serve with those in Solomon's service.	27 Hirão mandou nesta frota alguns dos seus servos, homens marinheiros, entendidos em náutica, juntamente com os servos de Salomão.
28 They went to Ophir and took on four hundred and twenty talents of gold, which they brought back toSolomon.	28 Eles, tendo chegado a Ofir, tomaram lá quatrocentos e vinte talentos de ouro, que levaram ao rei Salomão.
