1 when he strove with Aramnaharaim and with Aramzobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand.	1 Magistro chori. Secundum " Lilium praecepti ". Miktam. David. Ad docendum.
2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.	2 Quando contra Aram Naharaim et Aram Soba egressus est, et quando Ioab reversus devicit Edom in valle Salis: duodecim milia (hominum).
3 Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.	3 Deus, reppulisti nos, destruxisti nos. Iratus es. Convertere ad nos!
4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.	4 Concussisti terram, confregisti eam; sana contritiones eius, quia commota est.
5 That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.	5 Ostendisti populo tuo dura, potasti nos vino vertiginis.
6 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.	6 Dedisti metuentibus te signum, ut fugiant a facie arcus.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;	7 Ut liberentur dilecti tui, salvos fac dextera tua et exaudi nos.
8 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.	8 Deus locutus est in sancto suo: “ Laetabor et partibor Sichimam et convallem Succoth metibor.
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?	9 Meus est Galaad, et meus est Manasses, et Ephraim fortitudo capitis mei. Iuda sceptrum meum,
10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?	10 Moab olla lavacri mei. Super Idumaeam extendam calceamentum meum, super Philistaeam vociferabor ”.
11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.	11 Quis adducet me in civitatem munitam? Quis deducet me usque in Idumaeam?
12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.	12 Nonne tu, Deus, qui reppulisti nos; et non egredieris, Deus, in virtutibus nostris? Da nobis auxilium de tribulatione, quia vana salus hominis.
	13 In Deo faciemus virtutem, et ipse conculcabit tribulantes nos.
