JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Il entra de nouveau dans une synagogue, et il y avait là un homme qui avait la main desséchée.	1 Another time he went into the synagogue, and there was a man present whose hand was withered.
2 Et ils l'épiaient pour voir s'il allait le guérir, le jour du sabbat, afin de l'accuser.	2 And they were watching him to see if he would cure him on the Sabbath day, hoping for something tocharge him with.
3 Il dit à l'homme qui avait la main sèche: "Lève-toi, là, au milieu."	3 He said to the man with the withered hand, 'Get up and stand in the middle!'
4 Et il leur dit: "Est-il permis, le jour du sabbat, de faire du bien plutôt que de faire du mal, de sauverune vie plutôt que de la tuer?" Mais eux se taisaient.	4 Then he said to them, 'Is it permitted on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do evil; to save life, or to kil ?'But they said nothing.
5 Promenant alors sur eux un regard de colère, navré de l'endurcissement de leur coeur, il dit à l'homme:"Etends la main." Il l'étendit et sa main fut remise en état.	5 Then he looked angrily round at them, grieved to find them so obstinate, and said to the man, 'Stretchout your hand.' He stretched it out and his hand was restored.
6 Etant sortis, les Pharisiens tenaient aussitôt conseil avec les Hérodiens contre lui, en vue de le perdre.	6 The Pharisees went out and began at once to plot with the Herodians against him, discussing how todestroy him.
7 Jésus avec ses disciples se retira vers la mer et une grande multitude le suivit de la Galilée; et de laJudée,	7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lakeside, and great crowds from Galilee fol owed him. FromJudaea,
8 de Jérusalem, de l'Idumée, de la Transjordane, des environs de Tyr et de Sidon, une grande multitude,ayant entendu tout ce qu'il faisait, vint à lui.	8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea and Transjordan and the region of Tyre and Sidon, greatnumbers who had heard of al he was doing came to him.
9 Et il dit à ses disciples qu'une petite barque fût tenue à sa disposition, à cause de la foule, pour qu'ilsne l'écrasent pas.	9 And he asked his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, to keep him from beingcrushed.
10 Car il en guérit beaucoup, si bien que tous ceux qui avaient des infirmités se jetaient sur lui pour letoucher.	10 For he had cured so many that al who were afflicted in any way were crowding forward to touch him.
11 Et les esprits impurs, lorsqu'ils le voyaient, se jetaient à ses pieds et criaient en disant: "Tu es le Filsde Dieu!"	11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, would fal down before him and shout, 'You are theSon of God!'
12 Et il leur enjoignait avec force de ne pas le faire connaître.	12 But he warned them strongly not to make him known.
13 Puis il gravit la montagne et il appelle à lui ceux qu'il voulait. Ils vinrent à lui,	13 He now went up onto the mountain and summoned those he wanted. So they came to him
14 et il en institua Douze pour être ses compagnons et pour les envoyer prêcher,	14 and he appointed twelve; they were to be his companions and to be sent out to proclaim the message,
15 avec pouvoir de chasser les démons.	15 with power to drive out devils.
16 Il institua donc les Douze, et il donna à Simon le nom de Pierre,	16 And so he appointed the Twelve, Simon to whom he gave the name Peter,
17 puis Jacques, le fils de Zébédée, et Jean, le frère de Jacques, auxquels il donna le nom de Boanergès,c'est-à-dire fils du tonnerre,	17 James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom he gave the name Boanerges or'Sons of Thunder';
18 puis André, Philippe, Barthélemy, Matthieu, Thomas, Jacques, le fils d'Alphée, Thaddée, Simon leZélé,	18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon theZealot
19 et Judas Iscarioth, celui-là même qui le livra.	19 and Judas Iscariot, the man who was to betray him.
20 Il vient à la maison et de nouveau la foule se rassemble, au point qu'ils ne pouvaient pas mêmemanger de pain.	20 He went home again, and once more such a crowd col ected that they could not even have a meal.
21 Et les siens, l'ayant appris, partirent pour se saisir de lui, car ils disaient: "Il a perdu le sens."	21 When his relations heard of this, they set out to take charge of him; they said, 'He is out of his mind.'
22 Et les scribes qui étaient descendus de Jérusalem disaient: "Il est possédé de Béelzéboul", et encore:"C'est par le prince des démons qu'il expulse les démons."	22 The scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, 'Beelzebul is in him,' and, 'It is throughthe prince of devils that he drives devils out.'
23 Les ayant appelés près de lui, il leur disait en paraboles: "Comment Satan peut-il expulser Satan?	23 So he cal ed them to him and spoke to them in parables,
24 Si un royaume est divisé contre lui-même, ce royaume-là ne peut subsister.	24 'How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot last.
25 Et si une maison est divisée contre elle-même, cette maison-là ne pourra se maintenir.	25 And if a household is divided against itself, that household can never last.
26 Or, si Satan s'est dressé contre lui-même et s'est divisé, il ne peut pas tenir, il est fini.	26 Now if Satan has rebel ed against himself and is divided, he cannot last either -- it is the end of him.
27 Mais nul ne peut pénétrer dans la maison d'un homme fort et piller ses affaires s'il n'a d'abord ligotécet homme fort, et alors il pillera sa maison.	27 But no one can make his way into a strong man's house and plunder his property unless he has firsttied up the strong man. Only then can he plunder his house.
28 "En vérité, je vous le dis, tout sera remis aux enfants des hommes, les péchés et les blasphèmes tantqu'il en auront proféré;	28 'In truth I tel you, al human sins will be forgiven, and al the blasphemies ever uttered;
29 mais quiconque aura blasphémé contre l'Esprit Saint n'aura jamais de rémission: il est coupable d'unefaute éternelle."	29 but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternalsin.'
30 C'est qu'ils disaient: "Il est possédé d'un esprit impur."	30 This was because they were saying, 'There is an unclean spirit in him.'
31 Sa mère et ses frères arrivent et, se tenant dehors, ils le firent appeler.	31 Now his mother and his brothers arrived and, standing outside, sent in a message asking for him.
32 Il y avait une foule assise autour de lui et on lui dit: "Voilà que ta mère et tes frères et tes soeurs sontlà dehors qui te cherchent."	32 A crowd was sitting round him at the time the message was passed to him, 'Look, your mother andbrothers and sisters are outside asking for you.'
33 Il leur répond: "Qui est ma mère? Et mes frères?"	33 He replied, 'Who are my mother and my brothers?'
34 Et, promenant son regard sur ceux qui étaient assis en rond autour de lui, il dit: "Voici ma mère etmes frères.	34 And looking at those sitting in a circle round him, he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers.
35 Quiconque fait la volonté de Dieu, celui-là m'est un frère et une soeur et une mère."	35 Anyone who does the wil of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother.'
