JERUSALEM	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Ainsi parle Yahvé: Pour trois crimes de Moab et pour quatre, je l'ai décidé sans retour! Parce qu'il abrûlé les os du roi d'Edom jusqu'à les calciner,	1 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Moab, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath burnt the bones of the king of Edom even to ashes.
2 j'enverrai le feu dans Moab, il dévorera les palais de Qeriyyot, et Moab mourra dans le tumulte, dansla clameur, au son du cor;	2 And I will seed a fire into Moab, and it shall devour the houses of Carioth: and Moab shall die with a noise, with the sound of the trumpet:
3 je supprimerai le juge de chez lui, et tous ses princes, je les tuerai avec lui, dit Yahvé.	3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all his princes with him, saith the Lord.
4 Ainsi parle Yahvé: Pour trois crimes de Juda et pour quatre, je l'ai décidé sans retour! Parce qu'ils ontrejeté la loi de Yahvé et n'ont pas observé ses décrets, parce que leurs Mensonges les ont égarés, ceux que leurspères avaient suivis,	4 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Juda, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath cast away the law of the Lord, and hath not kept his commandments: for their idols have caused them to err, after which their fathers have walked.
5 j'enverrai le feu dans Juda, et il dévorera les palais de Jérusalem.	5 And I will send a fire into Juda, and it shall devour the houses of Jerusalem.
6 Ainsi parle Yahvé: Pour trois crimes d'Israël et pour quatre, je l'ai décidé sans retour! Parce qu'ilsvendent le juste à prix d'argent et le pauvre pour une paire de sandales;	6 Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Israel, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath sold the just man for silver, and the poor man for a pair of shoes.
7 parce qu'ils écrasent la tête des faibles sur la poussière de la terre et qu'ils font dévier la route deshumbles; parce que fils et père vont à la même fille afin de profaner mon saint nom;	7 They bruise the heads of the poor upon the dust of the earth, and turn aside the way of the humble: and the son and his father have gone to the same young woman, to profane my holy name.
8 parce qu'ils s'étendent sur des vêtements pris en gage, à côté de tous les autels, et qu'ils boivent dansla maison de leur dieu le vin de ceux qui sont frappés d'amende.	8 And they sat down upon garments laid to pledge by every altar: and drank the wine of the condemned in the house of their God.
9 Et moi, j'avais anéanti devant eux l'Amorite, lui dont la taille égalait celle des cèdres, lui qui était fortcomme les chênes! J'avais anéanti son fruit, en haut, et ses racines, en bas!	9 Yet I cast out the Amorrhite before their face: whose height was like the height of cedars, and who was strong as an oak: and I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots beneath.
10 Et moi, je vous avais fait monter du pays d'Egypte, et pendant 40 ans, menés dans le désert, pour quevous possédiez le pays de l'Amorite!	10 It is I that brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and I led you forty years through the wilderness, that you might possess the land of the Amorrhite.
11 J'avais suscité parmi vos fils des prophètes, et parmi vos jeunes gens des nazirs! N'en est-il pas ainsi,enfants d'Israël? Oracle de Yahvé.	11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not so, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord?
12 Mais vous avez fait boire du vin aux nazirs, aux prophètes, vous avez donné cet ordre: "Neprophétisez pas!"	12 And you will present wine to the Nazarites: and command the prophets, saying: Prophesy not.
13 Eh bien! moi, je vais vous broyer sur place comme broie le chariot plein de gerbes;	13 Behold, I will screak under you as a wain screaketh that is laden with hay.
14 la fuite manquera à l'homme agile, l'homme fort ne déploiera pas sa vigueur et le brave ne sauverapas sa vie;	14 And flight shall perish from the swift, and the valiant shall not possess his strength, neither shall the strong save his life.
15 celui qui manie l'arc ne tiendra pas, l'homme aux pieds agiles n'échappera pas, celui qui monte àcheval ne sauvera pas sa vie,	15 And he that holdeth the bow shall not stand, and the swift of foot shall not escape, neither shall the rider of the horse save his life.
16 et le plus courageux d'entre les braves s'enfuira nu, en ce jour-là, oracle de Yahvé.	16 And the stout of heart among the valiant shall flee away naked in that day, saith the Lord.
