DOUAI-RHEIMSKING JAMES BIBLE
The psalm of David when he fled from the face of his son Absalom.1 LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
Why, O Lord, are they multiplied that afflict me? many are they who rise up against me.2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
Many say to my soul: There is no salvation for him in his God.3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
But thou, O Lord art my protector, my glory, and the lifter up of my head.4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
I have cried to the Lord with my voice: and he hath heard me from his holy hill.5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
I have slept and taken my rest: and I have risen up, because the Lord hath protected me.6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
I will not fear thousands of the people, surrounding me: arise, O Lord; save me, O my God.7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
For thou hast struck all them who are my adversaries without cause: thou hast broken the teeth of sinners.8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
Salvation is of the Lord: and thy blessing is upon thy people.
