DOUAI-RHEIMSKING JAMES BIBLE
The inscription of a title to David himself. Preserve me, O Lord, for I have put trust in thee.1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
I have said to the Lord, thou art my God, for thou hast no need of my goods.2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
To the saints, who are in his land, he hath made wonderful all my desires in them.3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
Their infirmities were multiplied: afterwards they made haste. I will not gather together their meetings for blood offerings: nor will I be mindful of their names by my lips.4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: it is thou that wilt restore my inheritance to me.5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
The lines are fallen unto me in goodly places: for my inheritance is goodly to me.6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
I will bless the Lord, who hath given me understanding: moreover my reins also have corrected me even till night.7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
I set the Lord always in my sight: for he is at my right hand, that I be not moved.8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart hath been glad, and my tongue hath rejoiced: moreover my flesh also shall rest in hope.9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; nor wilt then give thy holy one to see corruption.10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Thou hast made known to me the ways of life, thou shalt fill me with joy with thy countenance: at thy right hand are delights even to the end.11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
