1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David in Hebron, saying: We are thy bone, and thy flesh.	1 Todo o Israel se reuniu com Davi em Hebron, e disse: Vê: nós somos teus ossos e tua carne.
2 Yesterday also, and the day before when Saul was king, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: for the Lord thy God said to thee: Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt; be ruler over them.	2 Já antes, quando Saul era rei, eras tu que conduzias os destinos de Israel. O Senhor, teu Deus, te disse: És tu que apascentarás Israel, meu povo, e serás tu o chefe de Israel, meu povo.
3 So all the ancients of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and David made a covenant with them before the Lord: and they anointed him king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke in the hand of Samuel.	3 Assim todos os anciãos de Israel vieram para junto do rei em Hebron, e Davi concluiu um pacto com eles em Hebron, diante do Senhor; e eles ungiram-no rei de Israel, segundo a palavra do Senhor, pronunciada por Samuel.
4 And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus, where the Jebusites were the inhabitants of the land.	4 Foi Davi com todo o Israel contra Jerusalém, isto é, Jebus, onde estavam os jebuseus, habitantes da terra.
5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David: Thou shalt not come in here. But David took the castle of Sion, which is the city of David.	5 Os jebuseus disseram a Davi: Aqui tu não entrarás. Mas Davi se apoderou da fortaleza de Sião, isto é, da cidade de Davi.
6 And he said: Whosoever shall first strike the Jebusites, shall be the head and chief captain. And Joab the son of Sarvia went up first, and was made the general.	6 O primeiro, disse ele, seja quem for, que vencer os jebuseus, tornar-se-á chefe e príncipe. O primeiro que subiu foi Joab, filho de Sarvia, e tornou-se chefe.
7 And David dwelt in the castle, and therefore it was called the city of David.	7 Davi instalou-se na fortaleza; é por isso que a chamaram cidade de Davi.
8 And he built the city round about from Mello all round, and Joab built the rest of the city.	8 Ele fortificou a cidade ao redor, desde Milo até seus arredores, e Joab restaurou o resto da cidade.
9 And David went on growing and increasing, and the Lord of hosts was with him.	9 Davi tornou-se cada vez maior, e o Deus dos exércitos estava com ele.
10 These are the chief of the valiant men of David, who helped him to be made king over all Israel, according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke to Israel.	10 Eis os chefes dos heróis que estavam a serviço de Davi e que o ajudaram com todo o Israel a assegurar seu domínio, a fim de fazê-lo rei, segundo a palavra do Senhor, com respeito a Israel.
11 And this is the number of the heroes of David: Jesbaam the son of Hachamoni the chief among the thirty: he lifted up his spear against three hundred wounded by him at one time.	11 Eis o número dos heróis que estavam a serviço de Davi: Jesbaão, chefe dos trinta: ele brandiu sua lança contra trezentos homens e os abateu de uma só vez.
12 And after him was Eleazar his uncle's son the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighties.	12 Depois deste, Eleazar, filho de Dodo, o aoíta, um dos três heróis.
13 He was with David in Phesdomim, when the Philistines were gathered to that place to battle: and the field of that country was full of barley, and the people fled from before the Philistines.	13 Estava ele com Davi em Fesdomim, onde os filisteus se tinham reunido para o combate. Lá havia uma terra plantada de cevada, e o exército fugia diante dos filisteus.
14 But these men stood in the midst of the field, and defended it: and they slew the Philistines, and the Lord gave a great deliverance to his people.	14 Eles se postaram no meio do campo, defenderam-no e destroçaram os filisteus; e o Senhor assegurou uma grande vitória.
15 And three of the thirty captains went down to the rock, wherein David was, to the cave of Odollam, when the Philistines encamped in the valley of Raphaim.	15 Três dos trinta capitães desceram à rocha, para perto de Davi, junto da caverna de Odolão, enquanto o acampamento dos filisteus estava levantado no vale dos refains.
16 And David was in a hold, and the garrison of the Philistines in Bethlehem.	16 Ora, Davi estava na caverna e havia uma guarnição de filisteus em Belém.
17 And David longed, and said: O that some man would give me water of the cistern of Bethlehem, which is in the gate.	17 Davi exprimiu um desejo: Quem me dará de beber, disse ele, da água da cisterna que está às portas de Belém?
18 And these three broke through the midst of the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the cistern of Bethlehem, which was in the gate, and brought it to David to drink: and he would not drink of it, but rather offered it to the Lord,	18 Os três homens atravessaram acampamento dos filisteus e tiraram água da cisterna que está à porta de Belém. Eles tomaram e a levaram a Davi, mas Davi não quis bebê-la e fez dela uma libação ao Senhor:
19 Saying: God forbid that I should do this in the sight of my God, and should drink the blood of these men: for with the danger of their lives they have brought me the water. And therefore he would not drink. These things did the three most valiant.	19 Deus me livre, disse ele, de beber semelhante coisa! Haveria eu de beber o sangue desses homens? Pois foi arriscando a própria vida que ma trouxeram. E recusou bebê-la. Eis o que fizeram esses três bravos.
20 And Abisai the brother of Joab, he was chief of three, and he lifted up his spear against three hundred whom he slew, and he was renowned among the three,	20 Abisai, irmão de Joab, era o chefe dos três; brandiu sua lança contra trezentos homens; matou-os e adquiriu um nome entre os três.
21 And illustrious among the second three, and their captain: but yet he attained not to the first three.	21 Era o mais considerado da segunda tríade e foi o seu chefe, mas não se igualou aos três primeiros;
22 Banaias the son of Joiada, a most valiant man, of Cabseel, who had done many acts: he slew the two ariels of Moab: and he went down, and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in the time of snow.	22 Banaias, filho de Jojada, homem de valor e rico em altos feitos, originário de Cabseel, foi o que venceu os dois filhos de Ariel, de Moab. Foi ele também quem desceu e matou o leão na cisterna, num dia em que nevava.
23 And he slew an Egyptian, whose stature was of five cubits, and who had a spear like a weaver's beam: and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked away the spear, that he held in his hand, and slew him with his own spear.	23 Foi ele ainda quem venceu um egípcio de cinco côvados de altura; esse egípcio tinha na mão uma lança semelhante a um cilindro de tear de tecelão. Foi contra ele com um bordão, arrancou-lhe a lança das mãos e o matou com a própria lança.
24 These things did Banaias the son of Joiada, who was renowned among the three valiant ones,	24 Eis o que fez Banaias, filho de Jojada, que foi célebre entre os três valentes.
25 And the first among the thirty, but yet to the three he attained not: and David made him of his council.	25 Era mais considerado que os trinta; todavia não se igualou aos três. Davi o colocou à testa de sua guarda.
26 Moreover the most valiant men of the army, were Asahel brother of Joab, and Elchanan the son of his uncle of Bethlehem,	26 Valentes homens do exército: Asael, irmão de Joab; Elcanã, filho de Dodo, de Belém;
27 Sammoth an Arorite, Helles a Phalonite,	27 Samot, de Aori; Heles, de Falon:
28 Ira the son of Acces a Thecuite, Abiezer an Anathothite,	28 Hira, filho de Aces, de Técua;
29 Sobbochai a Husathite, Ilai an Ahohite,	29 Abieser, de Anatot; Sobocai, o husatita; Ilai, o aoíta; Maarai, de Netofa;
30 Maharai a Netophathite, Heled the son of Baana a Netophathite,	30 Heled, filho de Baana, de Netofa;
31 Ethai the son of Ribai of Gabaath of the sons of Benjamin, Banal a Pharathonite,	31 Etai, filho de Ribai, de Gabaa, dos filhos de Benjamim; Banaia, de Faraton;
32 Hurai of the torrent Gaas, Abiel an Arbathite, Azmoth a Bauramite, Eliaba a Salabonite,	32 Hurai, dos vales de Gaas; Abiel, de Araba; Azmavet, de Baurão; Eliaba, de Salabon; Bené-Assem de Gezon;
33 The sons of Assem a, Gezonite, Jonathan the son of Sage an Ararite,	33 Jonatã, filho de Sage, de Arar;
34 Ahiam the son of Sachar an Ararite,	34 Aião, filho de Sacar, de Arar;
35 Eliphal the son of Ur,	35 Elifal, filho de Ur; Hefer, de Mequera;
36 Hepher a Mecherathite, Ahia a Phelonite,	36 Aia, de Felon; Hesro, de Carmelo;
37 Hesro a Carmelite, Naarai the son of Azbai,	37 Naarai, filho de Asbai; Joel, irmão de Natã;
38 Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibahar the son of Agarai.	38 Mibaar, filho de Agarai;
39 Selec an Ammonite, Naharai a Berothite, the armourbearer of Joab the son of Sarvia.	39 Selec, o amonita; Naarai, de Berot, escudeiro de Joab, filho de Sarvia;
40 Ira a Jethrite, Gareb a Jethrite,	40 Ira, de Jeter; Gareb, de Jeter;
41 ,41Urias a Hethite, Zabad the son of Oholi,	41 Urias, o hiteu; Zabad, filho de Ooli;
42 Adina the son of Siza a Rubenite the prince of the Rubenites, and thirty with him:	42 Adina, filho de Siza, filho de Rubem, chefe dos rubenitas, e com ele trinta homens;
43 Hanan the son of Maacha, and Josaphat a Mathanite,	43 Hanã, filho de Maaca; Josafá, de Matã;
44 Ozia an Astarothite, Samma, and Jehiel the sons of Hotham an Arorite,	44 Ozías, de Astarot; Sarna e Jeiel, filhos de Hotão, de Aroer;
45 Jedihel the son of Zamri, and Jobs his brother a Thosaite,	45 Jediel, filho de Samri; Joa, seu irmão, o tosaíta;
46 Eliel a Mithumite, and Jeribai, and Josaia the sons of Elnaim, and Jethma a Moabite, Eliel, and Obed, and Jasiel of Masobia.	46 Eliel, de Maum; Jeribai e Josaia, filhos de Elnaem; Jetma, o moabita;
