1 Mictam di Davide, intorno a ciò ch’egli se ne fuggi’ nella spelonca, d’innanzi a Saulle; dato al capo de’ Musici sopra Al-tashet. ABBI pietà di me, o Dio; abbi pietà di me; Perciocchè l’anima mia si confida in te, Ed io ho la mia speranza nell’ombra delle tue ale, Finchè sieno passate le calamità.	1 Unto the end. 2 Io griderò all’Iddio altissimo; A Dio che dà compimento a’ fatti miei.	2 If, truly and certainly, you speak justice, then judge what is right, you sons of men.
3 Egli manderà dal cielo a salvarmi; Egli renderà confuso colui ch’è dietro a me a gola aperta. Sela. Iddio manderà la sua benignità, e la sua verità.	3 For, even in your heart, you work iniquity. Your hands construct injustice on the earth.
4 L’anima mia è in mezzo a’ leoni; Io giaccio fra uomini incendiari, I cui denti son lance, e saette, E la cui lingua è spada acuta.	4 Sinners have become foreigners from the womb; they have gone astray from conception. They have been speaking falsehoods.
5 Innalzati, o Dio, sopra i cieli; Innalzisi la tua gloria sopra tutta la terra.	5 Their fury is similar to that of a serpent; it is like a deaf asp, who even blocks her ears,
6 Essi avevano apparecchiata una rete a’ miei passi, Già tiravano a basso l’anima mia; Avevano cavata una fossa davanti a me; Ma essi vi sono caduti dentro. Sela	6 who will not listen to the voice of charmers, nor even to the enchanter who chants wisely.

9 Io ti celebrerò, o Signore, fra i popoli; Io ti salmeggerò fra le nazioni;	9 Like wax that flows, they will be carried away. Fire has fallen upon them, and they will not see the sun.
10 Perciocchè la tua benignità è grande infino al cielo, E la tua verità infino alle nuvole.	10 Before your thorns could know the brier, he consumes them alive, as if in rage.
11 Innalzati, o Dio, sopra i cieli; Innalzisi la tua gloria sopra tutta la terra	11 The just one will rejoice when he sees vindication. He will wash his hands in the blood of the sinner.
	12 And man will say, “If the just one is fruitful, then, truly, there is a God judging them on earth.”
