1 L’homme me conduisit vers la porte de l’est,	1 And he brought me to the gate that looked towards the east.
2 et voici que la Gloire du Dieu d’Israël arrivait de l’orient avec un bruit semblable à celui des grandes eaux; la terre fut illuminée de sa Gloire.	2 And behold the glory of the God of Israel came in by the way of the east: and his voice was like the noise of many waters, and the earth shone with his majesty.
3 Cette vision était semblable à celle que j’avais eue lorsque Yahvé était venu pour détruire la ville; elle était semblable à la vision que j’avais eue au bord du fleuve Kébar; je tombai la face contre terre.	3 And I saw the vision according to the appearance which I had seen when he came to destroy the city: and the appearance was according to the vision which I had seen by the river Chobar: and I fell upon my face.
4 La Gloire de Yahvé entra dans le Temple par la porte de l’est.	4 And the majesty of the Lord went into the temple by the way of the gate that looked to the east.
5 L’Esprit me souleva et me fit entrer dans la cour intérieure et voici que la Gloire de Yahvé remplissait la Maison.	5 And the spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court: and behold the house was filled with the glory of the Lord.
6 J’entendis alors quelqu’un qui me parlait de l’intérieur du Temple tandis que l’homme se tenait toujours près de moi.	6 And I heard one speaking to me out of the house, and the man that stood by me,
7 Il me dit: “Fils d’homme, tu as vu la place de mon trône, le lieu pour la plante de mes pieds; c’est là que j’habiterai pour toujours au milieu des Israélites. Le peuple d’Israël avec ses rois ne souillera plus mon saint Nom par ses prostitutions ou par les cadavres de ses rois lorsqu’ils meurent.	7 Said to me: Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever: and the house of Israel shall no more profane my holy name, they and their kings by their fornications, and by the carcasses of their kings, and by the high places.
8 Ils avaient planté leur porte à côté de ma porte, leurs montants de porte à côté des montants de la mienne: juste un mur entre moi et eux. Les horreurs qu’ils commettaient ont souillé mon saint Nom, et je les ai exterminés dans ma colère.	8 They who have set their threshold by my threshold, and their posts by my posts: and there was but a wall between me and them: and they profaned my holy name by the abominations which they committed: for which reason I consumed them in my wrath.
9 Ils éloigneront de moi leurs prostitutions et les cadavres de leurs rois, de façon que j’habite au milieu d’eux pour toujours.
10 “Toi, fils d’homme, décris maintenant au peuple d’Israël la Maison, qu’ils soient confus de leurs fautes et qu’ils en mesurent l’importance.	10 Now therefore let them put away their fornications, and the carcasses of their kings far from me: and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever.
11 S’ils ont honte de tout ce qu’ils ont commis, tu dessineras la Maison et ses constructions, ses entrées et ses sorties et toutes ses décorations. Tu leur feras connaître et tu mettras par écrit sous leurs yeux tous les règlements et toutes les lois de la Maison, pour qu’ils les observent et les mettent en pratique.	11 But thou, son of man, shew to the house of Israel the temple, and let them be ashamed of their iniquities, and let them measure the building:
12 Ceci est la loi de la Maison: tout son territoire dans toute son étendue au sommet de la montagne, est un lieu très saint.”	12 And be ashamed of all that they have done. Shew them the form of the house, and of the fashion thereof, the goings out and the comings in, and the whole plan thereof, and all its ordinances, and all its order, and all its laws, and thou shalt write it in their sight: that they may keep the whole form thereof, and its ordinances, and do them.
13 Voici les dimensions de l’autel en coudées du Temple. Cette coudée vaut une coudée ordinaire et un palme. Le soubassement tout autour est haut d’une coudée et sa largeur est d’une coudée, avec un rebord extérieur d’un empan. Voici comment s’élève l’autel:	13 This is the law of the house upon the top of the mountain: All its border round about is most holy: this then is the law of the house.
14 le socle inférieur est à deux coudées au-dessus du soubassement, laissant une coudée de largeur, et la hauteur est de quatre coudées depuis le petit socle jusqu’au grand socle, laissant encore une coudée de largeur.	14 And these are the measures of the altar by the truest cubit, which is a cubit and a handbreadth: the bottom thereof was a cubit, and the breadth a cubit: and the border thereof unto its edge, and round about, one handbreadth: and this was the trench of the altar.
15 Le foyer s’élève quatre coudées plus haut, avec au-dessus ses quatre cornes.	15 And from the bottom of the ground to the lowest brim two cubits, and the breadth of one cubit: and from the lesser brim to the greater brim four cubits, and the breadth of one cubit.
16 Le foyer est carré, long et large de 12 coudées.	16 And the Ariel itself was four cubits: and from the Ariel upward were four horns.
17 Le grand socle a 14 coudées de long sur 14 de large, (le petit socle a 16 coudées de long et de large) sur son soubassement d’une coudée, plus le rebord tout autour. Les marches sont sur le côté est.	17 And the Ariel was twelve cubits long, and twelve cubits broad, foursquare, with equal sides.
18 Il me dit: “Fils d’homme, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Voici les règles pour l’autel le jour où il sera réalisé. On y fera monter l’holocauste et on y répandra le sang.	18 And the brim was fourteen cubits long, and fourteen cubits broad in the four corners thereof: and the crown round about it was half a cubit, and the bottom of it one cubit round about: and its steps turned toward the east.
19 Alors tu donneras aux prêtres lévites qui sont de la descendance de Sadoq et qui s’approchent de moi pour me servir, parole de Yahvé, un jeune taureau en expiation.	19 And he said to me: Son of man, thus saith the Lord God: These are the ceremonies of the altar, in what day soever it shall be made: that holocausts may be offered upon it, and blood poured out.
20 Tu prendras de son sang et tu en mettras sur les quatre cornes, sur les angles du socle et sur le rebord tout autour; ainsi tu feras l’expiation pour l’autel.	20 And thou shalt give to the priests, and the Levites, that are of the race of Sadoc, who approach to me, saith the Lord God, to offer to me a calf of the herd for sin.
21 Puis tu prendras le taureau et on le brûlera dans une dépendance de la Maison, en dehors du Temple.	21 And thou shalt take of his blood, and shalt put it upon the four horns thereof, and upon the four corners of the brim, and upon the crown round
22 Le second jour tu offriras un bouc sans défaut pour l’expiation, et l’on fera l’expiation pour l’autel comme on l’a fait avec le jeune taureau.	22 And thou shalt take the calf, that is offered for sin: and thou shalt burn him in a separate place of the house without the sanctuary.
23 Lorsque tu auras terminé l’expiation, tu offriras un jeune taureau sans défaut et un bélier sans défaut pris dans le petit bétail.	23 And in the second day thou shalt offer a he goat without blemish for sin: and they shall expiate the altar, as they expiated it with the calf.
24 Tu les offriras devant Yahvé, les prêtres jetteront sur eux du sel et les offriront en holocauste à Yahvé.	24 And when thou shalt have made an end of the expiation thereof, thou shalt offer a calf of the herd without blemish, and a ram of the flock without blemish.
25 Durant sept jours tu offriras chaque jour un bouc pour l’expiation; on fera de même le sacrifice du jeune taureau et du bélier sans défaut pris parmi le petit bétail.	25 And thou shalt offer them in the sight of the Lord: and the priests shall put salt upon them, and shall offer them a holocaust to the Lord.
26 Durant sept jours on fera la supplication pour l’autel, on le purifiera et on l’inaugurera.	26 Seven days shalt thou offer a he goat for sill daily: they shall offer also a calf of the herd, and a ram of the flock without blemish.
27 À partir du huitième jour, les prêtres pourront offrir sur l’autel vos holocaustes et vos sacrifices pacifiques et je vous en saurai gré, parole de Yahvé.”	27 Seven days shall they expiate the altar, and shall cleanse it: and they shall consecrate it.
