1 Écoutez ceci, maison de Jacob, vous qui portez le nom d’Israël, vous qui êtes la descendance de Juda et jurez par le nom de Yahvé, vous qui vous adressez au Dieu d’Israël, mais non dans le vrai et droit sens;	1 Hear this, O house of Jacob called by the name Israel, sprung from the stock of Judah, You who swear by the name of the LORD and invoke the God of Israel without sincerity or justice,
2 vous qui vous réclamez de la Ville Sainte, et vous appuyez sur le Dieu d’Israël dont le nom est Yahvé Sabaot.	2 Though you are named after the holy city and rely on the God of Israel, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
3 Depuis longtemps j’avais annoncé les premiers événements; à peine sortaient-ils de ma bouche que je les faisais connaître. Soudain j’ai agi et ils se sont réalisés.	3 Things of the past I foretold long ago, they went forth from my mouth, I let you hear of them; then suddenly I took action and they came to be.
4 Je savais à quel point tu es têtu, que ta nuque est une barre de fer et que ton front est de bronze.	4 Because I know that you are stubborn and that your neck is an iron sinew and your forehead bronze,
5 Aussi dès ce temps-là je t’ai annoncé ces choses. Je te les ai fait connaître avant qu’elles n’arrivent, pour que tu ne puisses pas dire: “C’est mon fétiche qui les a accomplies, c’est ma statue, taillée ou fondue, qui les a ordonnées.”	5 I foretold them to you of old; before they took place I let you hear of them, That you might not say, "My idol did them, my statue, my molten image commanded them."
6 Tu as tout entendu, tu l’as vu, ne vas-tu pas le reconnaître? Maintenant, je te fais entendre des choses nouvelles, encore cachées et que tu ne sais pas.	6 Now that you have heard, look at all this; must you not admit it? From now on I announce new things to you, hidden events of which you knew not.
7 Ce n’est pas dans le passé qu’elles ont été créées, mais maintenant; jusqu’à ce jour tu n’en avais pas entendu parler, donc tu ne pourras pas dire: “Oui, je le savais.”	7 Now, not long ago, they are brought into being, and beforetime you did not hear of them, so that you cannot claim to have known them;
8 Tu ne connaissais rien de cela, tu n’en savais rien, jamais ton oreille ne l’avait entendu; car je savais à quel point tu es rebelle et qu’on t’appelle “Infidèle-depuis-le-sein-maternel.”	8 You neither heard nor knew, they did not reach your ears beforehand. Yes, I know you are utterly treacherous, a rebel you were called from birth.
9 Mais à cause de mon Nom je retiens ma colère. Je veille à mon honneur, aussi je suis patient avec toi et je ne te fais pas disparaître.	9 For the sake of my name I restrain my anger, for the sake of my renown I hold it back from you, lest I should destroy you.
10 Regarde, je t’ai purifiée comme l’argent, je t’ai éprouvée au creuset du malheur.	10 See, I have refined you like silver, tested you in the furnace of affliction.
11 Mais à cause de moi je vais agir, oui, à cause de moi: Comment pourrais-je supporter que mon Nom soit profané? Je n’abandonnerai ma gloire à personne.	11 For my sake, for my own sake, I do this; why should I suffer profanation? My glory I will not give to another.
12 Écoute-moi Jacob, Israël que j’ai appelé: c’est bien moi! Je suis le premier et je suis aussi le dernier.	12 Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I named! I, it is I who am the first, and also the last am I.
13 Ma main a fondé la terre, ma droite a étendu les cieux. Il me suffit de les appeler pour que tous ensemble se présentent.	13 Yes, my hand laid the foundations of the earth; my right hand spread out the heavens. When I call them, they stand forth at once.
14 Rassemblez-vous tous et écoutez: qui, de tout ce monde-là, a fait cette annonce: “Yahvé aime cet homme, il accomplira sa volonté contre Babylone et la race des Kaldéens”?	14 All of you assemble and listen: Who among you foretold these things? The LORD'S friend shall do his will against Babylon and the progeny of Chaldea.
15 Moi, oui moi, j’ai parlé, car c’est moi qui l’appelais et qui faisais réussir ses projets.”	15 I myself have spoken, I have called him, I have brought him, and his way succeeds!
16 “Venez à moi et écoutez: dès le début je n’ai pas parlé en cachette. J’étais présent dès le début de ces événements. Et maintenant le Seigneur Yahvé m’envoie avec son Esprit.	16 Come near to me and hear this! Not from the beginning did I speak it in secret; At the time it comes to pass, I am present: "Now the Lord GOD has sent me, and his spirit."
17 Voici ce que dit Yahvé, celui qui te rachète, le Saint d’Israël: “Je suis Yahvé ton Dieu; je t’instruis pour ton bien et te conduis sur le chemin où tu dois marcher.	17 Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I, the LORD, your God, teach you what is for your good, and lead you on the way you should go.
18 Si tu avais été attentif à mes lois, ta prospérité serait comme un fleuve, et ta justice comme les vagues de la mer;	18 If you would hearken to my commandments, your prosperity would be like a river, and your vindication like the waves of the sea;
19 ta descendance serait comme le sable, et les fruits de ton sein comme les grains de sable; leur nom ne serait jamais retranché ni effacé de devant moi.”	19 Your descendants would be like the sand, and those born of your stock like its grains, Their name never cut off or blotted out from my presence.
20 Sortez de Babel, fuyez de chez les Kaldéens! Lancez ce cri de joie et qu’on l’entende, qu’il coure jusqu’aux extrémités de la terre, dites: “Yahvé a racheté son serviteur Jacob!	20 Go forth from Babylon, flee from Chaldea! With shouts of joy proclaim this, make it known; Publish it to the ends of the earth, and say, "The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob.
21 Ils n’ont pas eu soif au désert où il les menait, pour eux il a tiré l’eau du rocher, il a fendu le roc et les eaux ont jailli.”	21 They did not thirst when he led them through dry lands; Water from the rock he set flowing for them; he cleft the rock, and waters welled forth."
22 Mais pas de paix pour les méchants, dit Yahvé.	22 (There is no peace for the wicked, says the LORD.)
