1 And the leaders of the families of Levi approached Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the rulers of the extended families of each of the tribes of the sons of Israel.	1 E i principi delle famiglie di Levi andarono a trovar Eleazaro sommo sacerdote, e Giosuè figliuolo di Nun, e i capi delle famiglie di ogni tribù de' figliuoli d’Israele.
2 And they spoke to them at Shiloh, in the land of Canaan, and they said, “The Lord instructed, by the hand of Moses, that cities should be given to us as habitations, with their suburbs to nourish our cattle.”	2 E parlaron con essi in Silo nella terra di Canaan, e dissero: il Signore ordinò per mezzo di Mosè che fossero a noi assegnate delle città da abitare, co' loro sobborghi per nudrire il bestiame.
3 And so the sons of Israel gave cities and their suburbs from their possessions, in accord with the order of the Lord.	3 E i figliuoli d'Israele dettero delle loro porzioni, secondo il comando del Signore, le città co' loro sobborghi.
4 And the lot went out for the family of Kohath, of the sons of Aaron, the priest, from the tribes of Judah and Simeon and Benjamin: thirteen cities.	4 Ed essendo uscita a sorte la famiglia di Caath, i figliuoli di Aronne sacerdote ebbero tredici città delle tribù di Giuda, e di Simeon, e di Beniamin:
5 And to the remainder of the sons of Kohath, that is, to the Levites who were left over, there went, from the tribes of Ephraim and Dan, and from the one half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.	5 E agli altri figliuoli di Caath, che rimanevano, cioè a dire a' Leviti furon date dieci città delle tribù di Ephraim e di Dan e di mezza la tribù di Manasse.
6 And next the lot went out to the sons of Gershon, so that they would receive, from the tribes of Issachar and Asher and Naphtali, and from the one half tribe of Manasseh at Bashan: the number of thirteen cities.	6 Ai figliuoli di Gerson toccò in sorte di aver numero tredici città delle tribù d’Issachar, e di Aser, e di Nephtali e della mezza tribù di Manasse in Basan.
7 And to the sons of Merari, by their families, from the tribes of Reuben and Gad and Zebulun, there went twelve cities.	7 E a’ figliuoli di Merari distinti nelle loro famiglie, dodici città delle tribù di Ruben, e Gad, e Zabulon.
8 And so the sons of Israel gave cities and their suburbs to the Levites, just as the Lord instructed by the hand of Moses, distributing to each by lot.	8 E diedero i figliuoli d'Israele a' Leviti le città co' loro sobborghi, come avea comandato il Signore per mezzo di Mosè distribuendole loro a sorte.
9 From the tribes of the sons of Judah and Simeon, Joshua gave cities, whose names are these:	9 E questi sono i nomi delle città prese da' figliuoli di Giuda, e di Simeon, e assegnate da Giosuè.
10 to the sons of Aaron, of the families of Kohath of the stock of Levi, (for the first lot went out for them,)	10 I figliuoli di Aronne della famiglia di Caath, della stirpe di Levi (che furono i primi a uscir a sorte) ebbero
11 the city of Arba, the father of Anak, which is called Hebron, on the mountain of Judah, and its surrounding suburbs.	11 Cariath-Arbe del padre di Enac (detta Hebron sulla montagna di Giuda) col suo sobborgo che la circonda.

19 All the cities together of the sons of Aaron, the priest, were thirteen, with their suburbs.	19 Tutte insieme le città de' figliuoli di Aronne sommo sacerdote furon tredici, e loro sobborghi.

37 from the tribe of Gad, Ramoth of Gilead, one of the cities of refuge, and Mahanaim and Heshbon and Jazer, four cities with their suburbs.	37 Della tribù di Gad, le città del rifugio Ramoth in Galaad, e Manaim, ed Hesebon, e Jaser, quattro città co' loro sobborghi.
38 All the cities of the sons of Merari, by their families and extended families, were twelve.	38 Tutte le città assegnate a' figliuoli di Merari distinti nelle loro famiglie, e casate furon dodici.
39 And so all the cities of the Levites, in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel, were forty-eight,	39 Tutte adunque le città date a' Leviti in mezzo alle porzioni de' figliuoli d'Israele furono quarantotto

41 And the Lord God gave to Israel all the land that he had sworn he would deliver to their fathers. 42 And he gave them peace with all the surrounding nations. And none of their enemies dared to stand against them; instead, they were brought under their sovereignty.	42 Ed ei diede loro la pace con tutte le nazioni circonvicine: e nissun nimico ardì di resistere ad essi; ma tutti furon soggettati al loro dominio.
43 Indeed, not so much as one word that he had promised to provide for them was left empty; instead, everything was fulfilled.	43 Una sola delle parole che egli avea promesso di adempire non restò indietro; ma tutte furon verificate dall'evento.
