Proverbs 7

1 My son, guard my words and conceal my precepts within you.	1 Figliuolo osserva il mio parlare, e i comandamenti miei ripongli apresso a te.
2 Son, preserve my commandments, and you shall live. And keep my law as the pupil of your eye.	2 Figliuolo, (onora Iddio, e averai potestà contra a' tuoi inimici; e non temere alcuno, ma solo lui) osserva i miei comandamenti, e viverai; e la mia legge (fa che la osservi e) custodiscila, come la pupilla dell' occhio tuo.
3 Bind it with your fingers; write it on the tablets of your heart.	3 Legala nelle dita tue (operando bene), e scrivila nelle tavole del cuor tuo.
4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call prudence your friend.	4 Di' alla sapienza: tu sei mia sorella, e chiama la prudenza, amica tua,
5 So may she guard you from the woman who is an outsider, and from the stranger who sweetens her words.	5 acciò ti custodisca dalla mogliere d'altrui e aliena, la qual ha parole (soavi e) dolci.
6 For I gaze from the window of my house, through the lattice,	6 Per che dalla fenestra della mia casa, per i forami, io vidi (uno giovane).
7 and I see little ones. I consider a frenzied youth,	7 E vedo alcuni di poco sentimento, e considero il giovane leggiero di cuore.
8 who crosses the street at the corner and close to the way of that house.	8 Il qual passa per la piazza apresso uno angulo, e passa per la via apresso la casa della meretrice
9 He steps into shadows, as day becomes evening, into the darkness and gloom of the night.	9 in oscuro, nelle tenebre della notte, essendo già passato il dì.
10 And behold, a woman meets him, dressed like a harlot, prepared to captivate souls: chattering and rambling,	10 Ed ecco una femina in abito di meretrice li viene incontra, preparata ad ingannar i giovani, con molte piacevoli parole, vaga di cuore.
11 unwilling to bear silence, unable to keep her feet at home,	11 La qual non sta volentieri in quiete, nè sta volentieri in casa.
12 now outside, now in the streets, now lying in ambush near the corners.	12 Mo' si trova in casa d' altrui, mo' in piazza, mo' negli anguli (e luoghi ascosti) per insidiare (e sedur le genti).
13 And overtaking the youth, she kisses him, and with a provocative face, she flatters him, saying:	13 E approssimata al giovane, l'abbracciò e baciollo, e con il volto inverecondo lo lusinga, e dice:
14 “I vowed sacrifices for well-being. Today I have repaid my vows.	14 Io ho fatto uno voto per avanti, e oggi sono stata ad offerirlo.
15 Because of this, I have gone out to meet you, desiring to see you, and I have found you.	15 E però io ti son venuta incontra, desiderando di vederti, (e il mio desiderio è adempiuto) e holli trovato.
16 I have woven my bed with cords. I have strewn it with embroidered tapestries from Egypt.	16 (Voglio che tu sappi che) io ho preparato il letto mio, e (per la camera) ho steso i tapeti lavorati, i quali furono fatti in Egitto.
17 I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, aloe, and cinnamon.	17 E ho fumata la camera di mirra e aloe cinnamomo.
18 Come, let us be inebriated in abundance, and let us delight in the embraces of desire, until the day begins to dawn.	18 Vieni, e abbiamo delettazione insieme ardentissimamente, per fino ch' el si fia dì.
19 For my husband is not in his house. He has gone away on a very long journey.	19 Il mio marito non è in casa; l'è ito molto dalla lunga.
20 He took with him a bag of money. He will return to his house on the day of the full moon.”	20 Egli ha tolto dinari con lui; e tornerà a casa per fino a uno mese.
21 She enmeshed him with many words, and she drew him forward with the flattery of her lips.	21 A questo modo lei parlando circonvenne il giovane, e con piacevoli e soavi parole trasselo al voler suo.
22 Immediately, he follows her, like an ox being led to the sacrifice, and like a lamb acting lasciviously, and not knowing that he is being drawn foolishly into chains,	22 Il quale sùbito seguitò lei, come bue il quale è menato alla morte, e agnello pieno di lascivia, e come stulto il qual non cognosce si mena alla morte,
23 until the arrow pierces his liver. It is just as if a bird were to hurry into the snare. And he does not know that his actions endanger his own soul.	23 per fino che la sagitta gli trapassi il cuore; e fa come l'uccello il quale celeremente corre in la rete, e non intende che del pericolo dell' anima sua si tratta.
24 Therefore, my son, hear me now, and attend to the words of my mouth.	24 Allora, figliuolo mio, audi me, e attendi alle parole mie,
25 Do not let your mind be pulled into her ways. And do not be deceived by her paths.	25 acciò la mente tua non sia tirata nelle vie sue, e acciò non sii ingannato dalle sue piacevoli parole (e promesse).
26 For she has tossed aside many wounded, and some of those who were very strong have been slain by her.	26 Molti sono stati sedotti da tale, e sono periclitati; e molti forti (e constanti) sono stati ingannati, e poi lo fine loro è stato la morte (così corporale, come spirituale).
27 Her household is the way to Hell, reaching even to the inner places of death.	27 La casa sua è la via dello inferno, penetrante nella morte, (e conduce l'anima allo inferno).
