1 Chronicles 14

1 Also, Hiram, the king of Tyre, sent messengers to David, and cedar wood, and artisans of walls and of wood, so that they might build a house for him.	1 και απεστειλεν χιραμ βασιλευς τυρου αγγελους προς δαυιδ και ξυλα κεδρινα και οικοδομους τοιχων και τεκτονας ξυλων του οικοδομησαι αυτω οικον
2 And David realized that the Lord had confirmed him as king over Israel, and that his kingdom had been lifted up over his people Israel.	2 και εγνω δαυιδ οτι ητοιμησεν αυτον κυριος επι ισραηλ οτι ηυξηθη εις υψος η βασιλεια αυτου δια τον λαον αυτου ισραηλ
3 Also, David took other wives in Jerusalem. And he conceived sons and daughters.	3 και ελαβεν δαυιδ ετι γυναικας εν ιερουσαλημ και ετεχθησαν δαυιδ ετι υιοι και θυγατερες
4 And these are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua and Shobab, Nathan and Solomon,	4 και ταυτα τα ονοματα αυτων των τεχθεντων οι ησαν αυτω εν ιερουσαλημ σαμαα ισοβααμ ναθαν σαλωμων
5 Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpelet,	5 και ιβααρ και ελισαε και ελιφαλετ
6 as well as Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,	6 και ναγε και ναφαγ και ιανουου
7 Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.	7 και ελισαμαε και βαλεγδαε και ελιφαλετ
8 Then, hearing that David had been anointed as king over all of Israel, all the Philistines ascended so that they might seek him. But when David had heard of it, he went out to meet them.	8 και ηκουσαν αλλοφυλοι οτι εχρισθη δαυιδ βασιλευς επι παντα ισραηλ και ανεβησαν παντες οι αλλοφυλοι ζητησαι τον δαυιδ και ηκουσεν δαυιδ και εξηλθεν εις απαντησιν αυτοις
9 Now the Philistines, arriving, spread out in the Valley of the Rephaim.	9 και αλλοφυλοι ηλθον και συνεπεσον εν τη κοιλαδι των γιγαντων
10 And so David consulted the Lord, saying, “Shall I ascend to the Philistines, and will you deliver them into my hand?” And the Lord said to him, “Ascend, and I will deliver them into your hand.”	10 και ηρωτησεν δαυιδ δια του θεου λεγων ει αναβω επι τους αλλοφυλους και δωσεις αυτους εις τας χειρας μου και ειπεν αυτω κυριος αναβηθι και δωσω αυτους εις τας χειρας σου
11 And when they had ascended to Baal-perazim, David struck them there, and he said: “God has divided my enemies by my hand, just as waters are divided.” And therefore the name of that place was called Baal-perazim.	11 και ανεβη εις βααλφαρασιν και επαταξεν αυτους εκει δαυιδ και ειπεν δαυιδ διεκοψεν ο θεος τους εχθρους μου εν χειρι μου ως διακοπην υδατος δια τουτο εκαλεσεν το ονομα του τοπου εκεινου διακοπη φαρασιν
12 And they left behind their gods in that place, and so David ordered them to be burned.	12 και εγκατελιπον εκει τους θεους αυτων και ειπεν δαυιδ κατακαυσαι αυτους εν πυρι
13 And then, at another time, the Philistines invaded, and they spread out in the valley.	13 και προσεθεντο ετι αλλοφυλοι και συνεπεσαν ετι εν τη κοιλαδι των γιγαντων
14 And again, David consulted God. And God said to him: “You shall not ascend after them. Draw away from them. And you shall come against them opposite the balsam trees.	14 και ηρωτησεν δαυιδ ετι εν θεω και ειπεν αυτω ο θεος ου πορευση οπισω αυτων αποστρεφου απ' αυτων και παρεση αυτοις πλησιον των απιων
15 And when you hear a sound approaching in the tops of the balsam trees, then you shall go forth to war. For God has gone forth before you, so that he may strike down the army of the Philistines.”	15 και εσται εν τω ακουσαι σε την φωνην του συσσεισμου των ακρων των απιων τοτε εξελευση εις τον πολεμον οτι εξηλθεν ο θεος εμπροσθεν σου του παταξαι την παρεμβολην των αλλοφυλων
16 Therefore, David did just as God had instructed him. And he struck down the army of the Philistines, from Gibeon as far as Gazera.	16 και εποιησεν καθως ενετειλατο αυτω ο θεος και επαταξεν την παρεμβολην των αλλοφυλων απο γαβαων εως γαζαρα
17 And the name of David became well-known in all the regions. And the Lord placed the fear of him over all the nations.	17 και εγενετο ονομα δαυιδ εν παση τη γη και κυριος εδωκεν τον φοβον αυτου επι παντα τα εθνη
