Psalmi 115

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam super misericordia tua et veritate tua.	1 Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give the glory, for your faithful love and yourconstancy!
2 Quare dicent gentes: “ Ubi est Deus eorum? ”.	2 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?'
3 Deus autem noster in caelo; omnia, quaecumque voluit, fecit.	3 Our God is in heaven, he creates whatever he chooses.
4 Simulacra gentium argentum et aurum, opera manuum hominum.	4 They have idols of silver and gold, made by human hands.
5 Os habent et non loquentur, oculos habent et non videbunt.	5 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,
6 Aures habent et non audient, nares habent et non odorabunt.	6 have ears but hear nothing, have noses but smel nothing.
7 Manus habent et non palpabunt, pedes habent et non ambulabunt; non clamabunt in gutture suo.	7 They have hands but cannot feel, have feet but cannot walk, no sound comes from their throats.
8 Similes illis erunt, qui faciunt ea, et omnes, qui confidunt in eis.	8 Their makers wil end up like them, and al who rely on them.
9 Domus Israel speravit in Domino: adiutorium eorum et scutum eorum est.	9 House of Israel, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
10 Domus Aaron speravit in Domino: adiutorium eorum et scutum eorum est.	10 House of Aaron, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
11 Qui timent Dominum, speraverunt in Domino: adiutorium eorum et scutum eorum est.	11 You who fear Yahweh, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
12 Dominus memor fuit nostri et benedicet nobis: benedicet domui Israel, benedicet domui Aaron,	12 Yahweh wil keep us in mind, he will bless, he wil bless the House of Israel, he wil bless the Houseof Aaron,
13 benedicet omnibus, qui timent Dominum, pusillis cum maioribus.	13 he wil bless those who fear Yahweh, small and great alike.
14 Adiciat Dominus super vos, super vos et super filios vestros.	14 May Yahweh add to your numbers, yours and your children's too!
15 Benedicti vos a Domino, qui fecit caelum et terram.	15 May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
16 Caeli, caeli sunt Domino, terram autem dedit filiis hominum.	16 Heaven belongs to Yahweh, but earth he has given to the children of Adam.
17 Non mortui laudabunt te, Domine, neque omnes, qui descendunt in silentium,	17 The dead cannot praise Yahweh, those who sink into silence,
18 sed nos, qui vivimus, benedicimus Domino ex hoc nunc et usque in saeculum.	18 but we, the living, shal bless Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.
