1 The following men came to David in Ziklag while he was still under banishment from Saul, son of Kish; they, too, were among the warriors who helped him in his battles.	1 Questi vennero a David in Siceleg, quando egli fuggia Saul figliuolo di Cis, i quali erano fortissimi e robustissimi combattitori,
2 They were archers who could use either the right or the left hand, both in slinging stones and in shooting arrows with the bow. They were some of Saul's kinsmen, from Benjamin.	2 tendenti l'arco, e gittavano sassi con le fionde con amendue le mani, e gittavano le saette; de' fratelli di Saul [di] Beniamin,

9 Some of the Gadites also went over to David when he was at the stronghold in the wilderness. They were valiant warriors, experienced soldiers equipped with shield and spear, who bore themselves like lions, and were as swift as the gazelles on the mountains.	9 Ezer principe, Obdia secondo, Eliab terzo,

15 These Gadites were army commanders, the lesser placed over hundreds and the greater over thousands.	15 Questi sono quelli che passarono il Giordano il primo mese, quando era usato di trapassare di sopra alle ripe sue; e fuggirono tutti quelli che abitavano nelle valli dalla parte d'oriente e dalla parte d' occidente.
16 It was they who crossed over the Jordan when it was overflowing both its banks in the first month, and dispersed all who were in the valleys to the east and to the west.	16 E vennero anche di Beniamin e di Giuda adiutorio dove dimorava David.
17 Some Benjaminites and Judahites also came to David at the stronghold.	17 E David uscìo loro incontro, e disse loro: venite voi a me pacifici per aiutarmi? il mio cuore sia unito con esso voi; ma se voi mi insidiate per gli nemici miei, conciosia cosa ch' io non abbia per le mie mani iniquità, veggia lo Iddio de' nostri padri, e giùdichilo.
18 David went out to meet them and addressed them in these words: "If you come peacefully, to help me, I am of a mind to have you join me. But if you have come to betray me to my enemies though my hands have done no wrong, may the God of our fathers see and punish you."	18 E lo spirito vestìo Amasai principe trai trenta, e disse: o David, noi siamo tuoi, e con esso teco, figliuolo d' Isai; pace, pace sia con teco e con tutti gli tuoi adiutori; però che il tuo Iddio aiuta te. Onde David gli ricevette, e ordinò prìncipi delle turbe.
19 Then spirit enveloped Amasai, the chief of the Thirty, who spoke: "We are yours, O David, we are with you, O son of Jesse. Peace, peace to you, and peace to him who helps you; your God it is who helps you." So David received them and placed them among the leaders of his troops.	19 E anche di Manasse rifuggirono a David, quando venia coi Filistei per combattere contro a Saul; e non combatteo con loro; però che fatto consiglio, i principi de' Filistei lo rimandarono dicendo: con pericolo del nostro capo si ritornerà al suo signore Saul.
20 Men from Manasseh also deserted to David when he came with the Philistines to battle against Saul. However, he did not help the Philistines, for their lords took counsel and sent him home, saying, "At the cost of our heads he will desert to his master Saul."	20 Or quando egli si ritornò in Siceleg, transfuggirono a lui di Manasse: Ednas e Iozabad, Iediel, Micael ed Ednas e Iozabad [ed Eliu] e Salati principi de' cavalieri in Manasse.

22 They helped David by taking charge of his troops, for they were all warriors and became commanders of his army.	22 E ogni di venivano a David in suo aiuto, tanto che fue fatto grande numero, quasi esercito di Dio.
23 And from day to day men kept coming to David's help until there was a vast encampment, like an encampment of angels.	23 E questo è il numero de' principi dello esercito, che vennero a David, essendo egli in Ebron, per transmutare a lui il regno di Saul, secondo la parola di Dio.
24 This is the muster of the detachments of armed troops that came to David at Hebron to transfer to him Saul's kingdom, as the LORD had ordained.	24 I figliuoli di Giuda, portanti scudo e lancia, ed espediti a battaglia, semilia ottocento;
25 Judahites bearing shields and spears: six thousand eight hundred armed troops.	25 de' figliuoli di Simeon, fortissimi a combattere, settemilia cento;
26 Of the Simeonites, warriors fit for battle: seven thousand one hundred.	26 de' figliuoli di Levi quattromilia secento;
27 Of the Levites: four thousand six hundred,	27 e Ioiada principe della stirpe d' Aaron, e con esso tremilia settecento;
28 along with Jehoiada, leader of the line of Aaron, with another three thousand seven hundred,	28 e Sadoc, giovane di buona qualità, e della casa del suo padre, principi XXII.
29 and Zadok, a young warrior, with twenty-two princes of his father's house.	29 e de' figliuoli di Beniamin fratelli di Saul, tre milia; e grande parte di loro seguitava ancora la casa di Saul;
30 Of the Benjaminites, the brethren of Saul: three thousand--until this time, most of them had held their allegiance to the house of Saul.	30 e de' figliuoll di Efraim ventimilia ottocento, uomini fortissimi e nominati nelle cognazioni loro;
31 Of the Ephraimites: twenty thousand eight hundred warriors, men renowned in their ancestral houses.	31 e della mezza (parte della) tribù di Manasse XVIII milia, ciascuno per nome, vennero a David per farlo re;
32 Of the half-tribe of Manasseh: eighteen thousand, designated by name to come and make David king.	32 de' figliuoli d' Issacar uomini savi, i quali conoscevano tutti i tempi a comandare quello che Israel dovesse fare, principi ducento; e tutta l'altra tribù seguitava il consiglio loro.
33 Of the Issacharites, their chiefs who were endowed with an understanding of the times and who knew what Israel had to do: two hundred chiefs, together with all their brethren under their command.	33 E di Zabulon, uomini i quali uscivano a battaglia, e istavano in ischiera armati d'arme a combattere, cinquantamilia ne vennero in aiuto (a David), non con doppio cuore;
34 From Zebulun, men fit for military service, set in battle array with every kind of weapon for war: fifty thousand men rallying with a single purpose.	34 di Neftali mille principi; e con esso loro uomini dotti nelli scudi e asta, XXXVII milia;
35 From Naphtali: one thousand captains, and with them, armed with shield and lance, thirty-seven thousand men.	35 di Dan uomini apparecchiati a combattere XXVIII milia secento;
36 Of the Danites, set in battle array: twenty-eight thousand six hundred.	36 e di Aser uomini che uscivano a battaglia, e che istavano in schiera, quarantamilia;
37 From Asher, fit for military service and set in battle array: forty thousand.	37 e di oltre al Giordano de' figliuoli di Ruben e di Gad e di mezza la tribù di Manasse, forniti d'arme da combattere, CXX milia.
38 From the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, men equipped with every kind of weapon of war: one hundred and twenty thousand.	38 Tutti questi uomini combattitori ed espediti a battaglia con perfetto cuore vennero in Ebron per fare David re sopra tutto Israel; e tutti gli altri d' Israel erano di una volontà, che David si fesse re (sopra Israel).
39 All these soldiers, drawn up in battle order, came to Hebron with the resolute intention of making David king over all Israel. The rest of Israel was likewise of one mind to make David king.	39 E istettero ivi con esso David a mangiare tre die; però che i loro fratelli aveano apparecchiato loro.
40 They remained with David for three days, feasting and drinking, for their brethren had prepared for them.	40 E quelli che erano presso [loro], insino ad Issacar e Zabulon e Neftali, portavano il pane in su gli asini, in su i camelli, in su i muli; e con buoi a mangiare, farina, fichi secchi, uve passe, vino, olio, buoi, montoni in abbondanza; però che allegrezza era in Israel.
41 Moreover, their neighbors from as far as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali came bringing food on asses, camels, mules, and oxen--provisions in great quantity of meal, pressed figs, raisins, wine, oil, oxen, and sheep. For there was rejoicing in Israel.
