1 Αφου δε ετελειωσε παντας τους λογους αυτου εις τας ακοας του λαου, εισηλθεν εις Καπερναουμ.	1 And when he had completed all his words in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum.
2 Εκατονταρχου δε τινος δουλος, οστις ητο πολυτιμος εις αυτον, κακως εχων εμελλε να αποθανη.	2 Now the servant of a certain centurion was dying, due to an illness. And he was very dear to him.
3 Και ακουσας περι του Ιησου, απεστειλε προς αυτον πρεσβυτερους των Ιουδαιων, παρακαλων αυτον να ελθη να διασωση τον δουλον αυτου.	3 And when he had heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to him, petitioning him, so that he would come and heal his servant.
4 Οι δε ελθοντες προς τον Ιησουν, παρεκαλουν αυτον επιμονως, λεγοντες οτι ειναι αξιος εκεινος, εις τον οποιον θελεις καμει τουτο?	4 And when they had come to Jesus, they petitioned him anxiously, saying to him: “He is worthy that you should provide this to him.
5 διοτι αγαπα το εθνος υμων, και την συναγωγην αυτος ωκοδομησεν εις ημας.	5 For he loves our nation, and he has built a synagogue for us.”
6 Ο δε Ιησους επορευετο μετ' αυτων. Ενω δε απειχεν ηδη ου μακραν απο της οικιας, επεμψε προς αυτον ο εκατονταρχος φιλους, λεγων προς αυτον? Κυριε, μη ενοχλεισαι? διοτι δεν ειμαι αξιος να εισελθης υπο την στεγην μου?	6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying: “Lord, do not trouble yourself. For I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof.
7 οθεν ουδε εμαυτον εκρινα αξιον να ελθω προς σε? αλλα ειπε λογον, και θελει ιατρευθη ο δουλος μου.	7 Because of this, I also did not consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 Διοτι και εγω ειμαι ανθρωπος υποκειμενος εις εξουσιαν, εχων υπ' εμαυτον στρατιωτας, και λεγω προς τουτον, Υπαγε, και υπαγει; και προς αλλον, Ερχου, και ερχεται, και προς τον δουλον μου, Καμε τουτο, και καμνει.	8 For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
9 Ακουσας δε ταυτα ο Ιησους εθαυμασεν αυτον, και στραφεις προς τον οχλον τον ακολουθουντα αυτον, ειπε? Σας λεγω, Ουδε εν τω Ισραηλ ευρον τοσαυτην πιστιν.	9 And upon hearing this, Jesus was amazed. And turning to the multitude following him, he said, “Amen I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.”
10 Και υποστρεψαντες οι απεσταλμενοι εις τον οικον, ευρον τον ασθενη δουλον υγιαινοντα.	10 And those who had been sent, upon returning to the house, found that the servant, who had been sick, was now healthy.
11 Την δε ακολουθον ημεραν επορευετο ο Ιησους εις πολιν ονομαζομενην Ναιν? και συνεπορευοντο μετ' αυτου ικανοι εκ των μαθητων αυτου και οχλος πολυς.	11 And it happened afterwards that he went to a city, which is called Nain. And his disciples, and an abundant crowd, went with him.
12 Ως δε επλησιασεν εις την πυλην της πολεως, ιδου, εφερετο εξω νεκρος υιος μονογενης της μητρος αυτου, και αυτη ητο χηρα, και οχλος πολυς της πολεως ητο μετ' αυτης.	12 Then, when he had drawn near to the gate of the city, behold, a deceased person was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her.
13 Και ιδων αυτην ο Κυριος, εσπλαγχνισθη δι' αυτην και ειπε προς αυτην? Μη κλαιε?	13 And when the Lord had seen her, being moved by mercy over her, he said to her, “Do not weep.”
14 και πλησιασας ηγγισε το νεκροκραββατον, οι δε βασταζοντες εσταθησαν, και ειπε? Νεανισκε, προς σε λεγω, σηκωθητι.	14 And he drew near and touched the coffin. Then those who carried it stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.”
15 Και ανεκαθησεν ο νεκρος και ηρχισε να λαλη, και εδωκεν αυτον εις την μητερα αυτου.	15 And the dead youth sat up and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.
16 Κατελαβε δε απαντας φοβος και εδοξαζον τον Θεον, λεγοντες οτι προφητης μεγας ηγερθη εν ημιν, και οτι επεσκεφθη ο Θεος τον λαον αυτου.	16 Then fear fell over all of them. And they magnified God, saying: “For a great prophet has risen up among us,” and, “For God has visited his people.”
17 Και εξηλθεν ο λογος ουτος περι αυτου εν ολη τη Ιουδαια και εν πασι τοις περιχωροις.	17 And this word about him went out to all of Judea and to the entire surrounding region.
18 Και απηγγειλαν προς τον Ιωαννην οι μαθηται αυτου περι παντων τουτων.	18 And the disciples of John reported to him concerning all these things.
19 Και προσκαλεσας ο Ιωαννης δυο τινας των μαθητων αυτου, επεμψε προς τον Ιησουν, λεγων? Συ εισαι ο ερχομενος, η αλλον προσδοκωμεν;	19 And John called two of his disciples, and he sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are you he who is to come, or should we wait for another?”
20 Και ελθοντες προς αυτον οι ανθρωποι, ειπον? Ιωαννης ο Βαπτιστης απεστειλεν ημας προς σε, λεγων? Συ εισαι ο ερχομενος, η αλλον προσδοκωμεν;	20 But when the men had come to him, they said: “John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying: ‘Are you he who is to come, or should we wait for another?’ ”
21 Εν αυτη δε τη ωρα εθεραπευσε πολλους απο νοσων και μαστιγων και πνευματων πονηρων, και εις τυφλους πολλους εχαρισε το βλεπειν.	21 Now in that same hour, he cured many of their diseases and wounds and evil spirits; and to many of the blind, he gave sight.
22 Και αποκριθεις ο Ιησους, ειπε προς αυτους? Υπαγετε και απαγγειλατε προς τον Ιωαννην οσα ειδετε και ηκουσατε? οτι τυφλοι αναβλεπουσι, χωλοι περιπατουσι, λεπροι καθαριζονται, κωφοι ακουουσι, νεκροι εγειρονται, πτωχοι ευαγγελιζονται?	22 And responding, he said to them: “Go and report to John what you have heard and seen: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead rise again, the poor are evangelized.
23 και μακαριος ειναι οστις δεν σκανδαλισθη εν εμοι.	23 And blessed is anyone who has not taken offense at me.”
24 Αφου δε ανεχωρησαν οι απεσταλμενοι του Ιωαννου, ηρχισε να λεγη προς τους οχλους περι του Ιωαννου? Τι εξηλθετε εις την ερημον να ιδητε; καλαμον υπο ανεμου σαλευομενον;	24 And when the messengers of John had withdrawn, he began to speak about John to the crowds. “What did you go out to the desert to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
25 Αλλα τι εξηλθετε να ιδητε; ανθρωπον ενδεδυμενον μαλακα ιματια; ιδου, οι λαμπρως ενδεδυμενοι και τρυφωντες ευρισκονται εν τοις βασιλικοις παλατιοις.	25 Then what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Behold, those who are in costly apparel and finery are in the houses of kings.
26 Αλλα τι εξηλθετε να ιδητε; προφητην; Ναι, σας λεγω, και περισσοτερον προφητου.	26 Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Certainly, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
27 Ουτος ειναι, περι του οποιου ειναι γεγραμμενον, Ιδου, εγω αποστελλω τον αγγελον μου προ προσωπου σου, Οστις θελει κατασκευασει την οδον σου εμπροσθεν σου.	27 This is he of whom it is written: “Behold, I send my Angel before your face, who shall prepare your way before you.”
28 Διοτι σας λεγω, μεταξυ των γεννηθεντων εκ γυναικων ουδεις προφητης ειναι μεγαλητερος Ιωαννου του βαπτιστου? πλην ο μικροτερος εν τη βασιλεια του Θεου ειναι μεγαλητερος αυτου.	28 For I say to you, among those born of women, no one is greater than the prophet John the Baptist. But he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
29 Και πας ο λαος ακουσας και οι τελωναι εδικαιωσαν τον Θεον, βαπτισθεντες το βαπτισμα του Ιωαννου.	29 And upon hearing this, all the people and the tax collectors justified God, by being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 Οι δε Φαρισαιοι και οι νομικοι ηθετησαν εις εαυτους την βουλην του Θεου, μη βαπτισθεντες υπ' αυτου.	30 But the Pharisees and the experts in the law despised the counsel of God concerning themselves, by not being baptized by him.
31 Και ειπεν ο Κυριος? Με τι λοιπον να ομοιωσω τους ανθρωπους της γενεας ταυτης; και με τι ειναι ομοιοι;	31 Then the Lord said: “Therefore, to what shall I compare the men of this generation? And to what are they similar?
32 Ειναι ομοιοι με παιδια καθημενα εν τη αγορα και φωναζοντα προς αλληλα και λεγοντα? Αυλον σας επαιξαμεν, και δεν εχορευσατε? σας εθρηνωδησαμεν, και δεν εκλαυσατε.	32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace, talking with one another, and saying: ‘We sang to you, and you did not dance. We lamented, and you did not weep.’
33 Διοτι ηλθεν Ιωαννης ο Βαπτιστης μητε αρτον τρωγων μητε οινον πινων, και λεγετε? Δαιμονιον εχει.	33 For John the Baptist came, neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
34 Ηλθεν ο Υιος του ανθρωπου τρωγων και πινων, και λεγετε? Ιδου ανθρωπος φαγος και οινοποτης, φιλος τελωνων και αμαρτωλων.	34 The Son of man came, eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a voracious man and a drinker of wine, a friend of tax collectors and of sinners.’
35 Και εδικαιωθη η σοφια απο παντων των τεκνων αυτης.	35 But wisdom is justified by all her children.”
36 Παρεκαλει δε αυτον εις εκ των Φαρισαιων να φαγη μετ' αυτου? και εισελθων εις την οικιαν του Φαρισαιου, εκαθησεν εις την τραπεζαν.	36 Then certain Pharisees petitioned him, so that they might eat with him. And he went into the house of the Pharisee, and he reclined at table.
37 Και ιδου, γυνη τις εν τη πολει, ητις ητο αμαρτωλη, μαθουσα οτι καθηται εις την τραπεζαν εν τη οικια του Φαρισαιου, εφερεν αλαβαστρον μυρου	37 And behold, a woman who was in the city, a sinner, found out that he was reclining at table in the house of the Pharisee, so she brought an alabaster container of ointment.
38 και σταθεισα πλησιον των ποδων αυτου οπισω κλαιουσα, ηρχισε να βρεχη τους ποδας αυτου με τα δακρυα και εσπογγιζε με τας τριχας της κεφαλης αυτης και κατεφιλει τους ποδας αυτου και ηλειφε με το μυρον.	38 And standing behind him, beside his feet, she began to wash his feet with tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, and she kissed his feet, and she anointed them with ointment.
39 Ιδων δε ο Φαρισαιος ο καλεσας αυτον, ειπε καθ' εαυτον λεγων? Ουτος, εαν ητο προφητης, ηθελε γνωριζει τις και οποια ειναι η γυνη, ητις εγγιζει αυτον, οτι ειναι αμαρτωλη.	39 Then the Pharisee, who had invited him, upon seeing this, spoke within himself, saying, “This man, if he were a prophet, would certainly know who and what kind of woman is this, who is touching him: that she is a sinner.”
40 Και αποκριθεις ο Ιησους, ειπε προς αυτον? Σιμων, εχω να σοι ειπω τι. Ο δε λεγει? Διδασκαλε, ειπε.	40 And in response, Jesus said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” So he said, “Speak, Teacher.”
41 Ειχε τις δανειστας δυο χρεωφειλετας? ο εις εχρεωστει δηναρια πεντακοσια, ο δε αλλος πεντηκοντα.	41 “A certain creditor had two debtors: one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 Και επειδη δεν ειχον να αποδωσωσιν, εχαρισεν αυτα εις αμφοτερους. Τις λοιπον εξ αυτων, ειπε, θελει αγαπησει αυτον περισσοτερον;	42 And since they did not have the ability to repay him, he forgave them both. So then, which of them loves him more?”
43 Αποκριθεις δε ο Σιμων, ειπε? Νομιζω οτι εκεινος, εις τον οποιον εχαρισε το περισσοτερον. Ο δε ειπε προς αυτον? Ορθως εκρινας.	43 In response, Simon said, “I suppose that it is he to whom he forgave the most.” And he said to him, “You have judged correctly.”
44 Και στραφεις προς την γυναικα, ειπε προς τον Σιμωνα? Βλεπεις ταυτην την γυναικα; Εισηλθον εις την οικιαν σου, υδωρ δια τους ποδας μου δεν εδωκας? αυτη δε με τα δακρυα εβρεξε τους ποδας μου και με τας τριχας της κεφαλης αυτης εσπογγισε.	44 And turning to the woman, he said to Simon: “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house. You gave me no water for my feet. But she has washed my feet with tears, and has wiped them with her hair.
45 Φιλημα δεν μοι εδωκας? αυτη δε, αφ' ης εισηλθον, δεν επαυσε καταφιλουσα τους ποδας μου.	45 You gave no kiss to me. But she, from the time that she entered, has not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 Με ελαιον την κεφαλην μου δεν ηλειψας? αυτη δε με μυρον ηλειψε τους ποδας μου.	46 You did not anoint my head with oil. But she has anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Δια τουτο σοι λεγω, συγκεχωρημεναι ειναι αι αμαρτιαι αυτης αι πολλαι, διοτι ηγαπησε πολυ? εις οντινα δε συγχωρειται ολιγον, ολιγον αγαπα.	47 Because of this, I tell you: many sins are forgiven her, because she has loved much. But he who is forgiven less, loves less.”
48 Και ειπε προς αυτην? Συγκεχωρημεναι ειναι αι αμαρτιαι σου.	48 Then he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven you.”
49 Και ηρχισαν οι συγκαθημενοι εις την τραπεζαν να λεγωσι καθ' εαυτους? Τις ειναι ουτος, οστις και αμαρτιας συγχωρει;	49 And those who sat at table with him began to say within themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?”
50 Ειπε δε προς την γυναικα? Η πιστις σου σε εσωσεν? υπαγε εις ειρηνην.	50 Then he said to the woman: “Your faith has brought you salvation. Go in peace.”
