1 Rendete grazie al Signore e invocate il suo nome,proclamate fra i popoli le sue opere.	1 O give thanks to the LORD, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples!
2 A lui cantate, a lui inneggiate,meditate tutte le sue meraviglie.	2 Sing to him, sing praises to him, tell of all his wonderful works!
3 Gloriatevi del suo santo nome:gioisca il cuore di chi cerca il Signore.	3 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!
4 Cercate il Signore e la sua potenza,ricercate sempre il suo volto.	4 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his presence continually!
5 Ricordate le meraviglie che ha compiuto,i suoi prodigi e i giudizi della sua bocca,	5 Remember the wonderful works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,
6 voi, stirpe di Abramo, suo servo,figli di Giacobbe, suo eletto.	6 O offspring of Abraham his servant, sons of Jacob, his chosen ones!
7 È lui il Signore, nostro Dio:su tutta la terra i suoi giudizi.	7 He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
8 Si è sempre ricordato della sua alleanza,parola data per mille generazioni,	8 He is mindful of his covenant for ever, of the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations,
9 dell’alleanza stabilita con Abramoe del suo giuramento a Isacco.	9 the covenant which he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,
10 L’ha stabilita per Giacobbe come decreto,per Israele come alleanza eterna,	10 which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 quando disse: «Ti darò il paese di Canaancome parte della vostra eredità».	11 saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance."
12 Quando erano in piccolo numero,pochi e stranieri in quel luogo,	12 When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it,
13 e se ne andavano di nazione in nazione,da un regno a un altro popolo,	13 wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people,
14 non permise che alcuno li opprimessee castigò i re per causa loro:	14 he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account,
15 «Non toccate i miei consacrati,non fate alcun male ai miei profeti».	15 saying, "Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!"
16 Chiamò la carestia su quella terra,togliendo il sostegno del pane.	16 When he summoned a famine on the land, and broke every staff of bread,
17 Davanti a loro mandò un uomo,Giuseppe, venduto come schiavo.	17 he had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
18 Gli strinsero i piedi con ceppi,il ferro gli serrò la gola,	18 His feet were hurt with fetters, his neck was put in a collar of iron;
19 finché non si avverò la sua parolae l’oracolo del Signore ne provò l’innocenza.	19 until what he had said came to pass the word of the LORD tested him.
20 Il re mandò a scioglierlo,il capo dei popoli lo fece liberare;	20 The king sent and released him, the ruler of the peoples set him free;
21 lo costituì signore del suo palazzo,capo di tutti i suoi averi,	21 he made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possessions,
22 per istruire i prìncipi secondo il suo giudizioe insegnare la saggezza agli anziani.	22 to instruct his princes at his pleasure, and to teach his elders wisdom.
23 E Israele venne in Egitto,Giacobbe emigrò nel paese di Cam.	23 Then Israel came to Egypt; Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 Ma Dio rese molto fecondo il suo popolo,lo rese più forte dei suoi oppressori.	24 And the LORD made his people very fruitful, and made them stronger than their foes.
25 Cambiò il loro cuore perché odiassero il suo popoloe agissero con inganno contro i suoi servi.	25 He turned their hearts to hate his people, to deal craftily with his servants.
26 Mandò Mosè, suo servo,e Aronne, che si era scelto:	26 He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron whom he had chosen.
27 misero in atto contro di loro i suoi segnie i suoi prodigi nella terra di Cam.	27 They wrought his signs among them, and miracles in the land of Ham.
28 Mandò le tenebre e si fece buio,ma essi resistettero alle sue parole.	28 He sent darkness, and made the land dark; they rebelled against his words.
29 Cambiò le loro acque in sanguee fece morire i pesci.	29 He turned their waters into blood, and caused their fish to die.
30 La loro terra brulicò di ranefino alle stanze regali.	30 Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the chambers of their kings.
31 Parlò e vennero tafani,zanzare in tutto il territorio.	31 He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country.
32 Invece di piogge diede loro la grandine,vampe di fuoco sulla loro terra.	32 He gave them hail for rain, and lightning that flashed through their land.
33 Colpì le loro vigne e i loro fichi,schiantò gli alberi del territorio.	33 He smote their vines and fig trees, and shattered the trees of their country.
34 Parlò e vennero le locustee bruchi senza numero:	34 He spoke, and the locusts came, and young locusts without number;
35 divorarono tutta l’erba della loro terra,divorarono il frutto del loro suolo.	35 which devoured all the vegetation in their land, and ate up the fruit of their ground.
36 Colpì ogni primogenito nella loro terra,la primizia di ogni loro vigore.	36 He smote all the first-born in their land, the first issue of all their strength.
37 Allora li fece uscire con argento e oro;nelle tribù nessuno vacillava.	37 Then he led forth Israel with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes who stumbled.
38 Quando uscirono, gioì l’Egitto,che era stato colpito dal loro terrore.	38 Egypt was glad when they departed, for dread of them had fallen upon it.
39 Distese una nube per proteggerlie un fuoco per illuminarli di notte.	39 He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light by night.
40 Alla loro richiesta fece venire le quagliee li saziò con il pane del cielo.	40 They asked, and he brought quails, and gave them bread from heaven in abundance.
41 Spaccò una rupe e ne sgorgarono acque:scorrevano come fiumi nel deserto.	41 He opened the rock, and water gushed forth; it flowed through the desert like a river.
42 Così si è ricordato della sua parola santa,data ad Abramo suo servo.	42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
43 Ha fatto uscire il suo popolo con esultanza,i suoi eletti con canti di gioia.	43 So he led forth his people with joy, his chosen ones with singing.
44 Ha dato loro le terre delle nazionie hanno ereditato il frutto della fatica dei popoli,	44 And he gave them the lands of the nations; and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples' toil,
45 perché osservassero i suoi decretie custodissero le sue leggi.Alleluia.	45 to the end that they should keep his statutes, and observe his laws. Praise the LORD!
