SMITH VAN DYKE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 يا اله النقمات يا رب يا اله النقمات اشرق‎.	1 God of vengeance, Yahweh, God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 ‎ارتفع يا ديان الارض. جاز صنيع المستكبرين‎.	2 Arise, judge of the world, give back the proud what they deserve!
3 ‎حتى متى الخطاة يا رب حتى متى الخطاة يشمتون‎.	3 How long are the wicked, Yahweh, how long are the wicked to triumph?
4 ‎يبقون يتكلمون بوقاحة. كل فاعلي الاثم يفتخرون‎.	4 They bluster and boast, they flaunt themselves, all the evil-doers.
5 ‎يسحقون شعبك يا رب ويذلون ميراثك‎.	5 They crush your people, Yahweh, they oppress your heritage,
6 ‎يقتلون الارملة والغريب ويميتون اليتيم‎.	6 they murder the widow and the stranger, bring the orphan to a violent death.
7 ‎ويقولون الرب لا يبصر واله يعقوب لا يلاحظ	7 They say, 'Yahweh is not looking, the God of Jacob is taking no notice.'
8 افهموا ايها البلداء في الشعب ويا جهلاء متى تعقلون‎.	8 Take notice yourselves, you coarsest of people! Fools, when wil you learn some sense?
9 ‎الغارس الاذن ألا يسمع. الصانع العين ألا يبصر‎.	9 Shal he who implanted the ear not hear, he who fashioned the eye not see?
10 ‎المؤدب الامم ألا يبكت. المعلم الانسان معرفة‎.	10 Shal he who instructs nations not punish? Yahweh, the teacher of al people,
11 ‎الرب يعرف افكار الانسان انها باطلة‎.	11 knows human plans and how insipid they are.
12 ‎طوبى للرجل الذي تؤدبه يا رب وتعلمه من شريعتك	12 How blessed are those you instruct, Yahweh, whom you teach by means of your law,
13 لتريحه من ايام الشر حتى تحفر للشرير حفرة‎.	13 to give them respite in evil times, til a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 ‎لان الرب لا يرفض شعبه ولا يترك ميراثه‎.	14 Yahweh will not abandon his people, he wil not desert his heritage;
15 ‎لانه الى العدل يرجع القضاء وعلى اثره كل مستقيمي القلوب	15 for judgement will again become saving justice, and in its wake al upright hearts will fol ow.
16 من يقوم لي على المسيئين. من يقف لي ضد فعلة الاثم‎.	16 Who rises up on my side against the wicked? Who stands firm on my side against al evil-doers?
17 ‎لولا ان الرب معيني لسكنت نفسي سريعا ارض السكوت‎.	17 If Yahweh did not come to my help, I should soon find myself dwel ing in the silence.
18 ‎اذ قلت قد زلت قدمي فرحمتك يا رب تعضدني‎.	18 I need only say, 'I am slipping,' for your faithful love, Yahweh, to support me;
19 ‎عند كثرة همومي في داخلي تعزياتك تلذذ نفسي‎.	19 however great the anxiety of my heart, your consolations soothe me.
20 ‎هل يعاهدك كرسي المفاسد المختلق اثما على فريضة‎.	20 Are you partner to a destructive court, that gives disorder the status of law?
21 ‎يزدحمون على نفس الصدّيق ويحكمون على دم زكي‎.	21 They make an attack on the life of the upright, and condemn innocent blood.
22 ‎فكان الرب لي صرحا والهي صخرة ملجإي	22 No! Yahweh is a stronghold to me, my God is my rock of refuge.
23 ويرد عليهم اثمهم وبشرهم يفنيهم. يفنيهم الرب الهنا	23 He turns back their guilt on themselves, annihilates them for their wickedness, he annihilates them,Yahweh our God.
