Thessalonians 3

Because of this, willing to wait no longer, it was pleasing to us to remain at Athens, alone.1 That is why, when we could bear it no longer, we decided to remain alone in Athens
And we sent Timothy, our brother and a minister of God in the Gospel of Christ, to confirm you and to exhort you, on behalf of your faith,2 and sent Timothy, our brother and co-worker for God in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith,
so that no one would be disturbed during these tribulations. For you yourselves know that we have been appointed to this.3 so that no one be disturbed in these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this.
For even while we were with you, we predicted to you that we would suffer tribulations, even as it has happened, and as you know.4 For even when we were among you, we used to warn you in advance that we would undergo affliction, just as has happened, as you know.
For this reason also, I was not willing to wait any longer, and I sent to find out about your faith, lest perhaps he who tempts may have tempted you, and our labor might have been in vain.5 For this reason, when I too could bear it no longer, I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had put you to the test and our toil might come to nothing.
But then, when Timothy arrived to us from you, he reported to us your faith and charity, and that you keep a good remembrance of us always, desiring to see us, just as we likewise desire to see you.6 But just now Timothy has returned to us from you, bringing us the good news of your faith and love, and that you always think kindly of us and long to see us as we long to see you.
As a result, we were consoled in you, brothers, in the midst of all our difficulties and tribulations, through your faith.7 Because of this, we have been reassured about you, brothers, in our every distress and affliction, through your faith.
For we now live so that you may stand firm in the Lord.8 For we now live, if you stand firm in the Lord.
For what thanks would we be able to repay to God because of you, for all the joy with which we rejoice over you before our God?9 What thanksgiving, then, can we render to God for you, for all the joy we feel on your account before our God?
For night and day, ever more abundantly, we are praying that we may see your face, and that we may complete those things that are lacking in your faith.10 Night and day we pray beyond measure to see you in person and to remedy the deficiencies of your faith.
But may God our Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you.11 Now may God himself, our Father, and our Lord Jesus direct our way to you,
And may the Lord multiply you, and make you abound in your charity toward one another and toward all, just as we also do toward you,12 and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we have for you,
in order to confirm your hearts without blame, in sanctity, before God our Father, unto the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, with all his saints. Amen.13 so as to strengthen your hearts, to be blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones. (Amen.)
