Isaiah 30

1 “Woe to the sons of apostasy!” says the Lord. For you would take advice, but not from me. And you would begin to weave, but not by my spirit. Thus do you add sin upon sin!	1 Guai a voi, figliuoli disertatori, dice lo Signore Iddio, però che faceste consiglio, ma non da me, e ordiste la tela, ma non per lo mio spirito, per aggiugnere peccato sopra peccato;
2 You are walking so as to descend into Egypt, and you have not sought answers from my mouth, instead hoping for assistance from the strength of Pharaoh and placing trust in the shadow of Egypt.	2 i quali andate per iscendere in Egitto, e non chiedeste licenza alla mia bocca, però che aspettavate lo ausilio della forza di Faraone, e avevate fidanza sotto l'ombra di Egitto.
3 And so, the strength of Pharaoh will be your confusion, and trust in the shadow of Egypt will be your disgrace.	3 E la forza di Faraone sarà a voi in confusione, e la speranza dell' ombra di Egitto vi sarà a vergogna.
4 For your leaders were at Tanis, and your messengers have traveled even as far as Hanes.	4 E li tuoi principi erano andati in Tani (cioè in quella terra), e li tuoi messaggeri vennero di fino al fiume chiamato Anes.
5 They have all been confounded because of a people who were not able to offer profit to them, who were not of assistance, nor of other usefulness, except to offer confusion and reproach.	5 E tutti si sono confusi sopra lo populo lo quale non poteo loro giovare; e non furono in aiuto nè in alcuna utilitade, ma in confusione e in vituperio.
6 The burden of the beasts in the south. In a land of tribulation and anguish, from which go forth the lioness and the lion, the viper and the flying king snake, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of beasts of burden, and their valuables upon the humps of camels, to a people who are not able to offer profit to them.	6 Questo è lo carico delle giumente d' austro. Nella terra della tribulazione e della angoscia, e la lionessa e lo lione di loro, e la vipera (cioè uno serpente molto feroce e venenoso) e l' uccello volante, portanti le loro ricchezze sopra li umeri delli giumenti, e sopra li gibbi delli cammelli li loro tesori, (e portaronle) al popolo il quale non poteva fare loro prode.
7 For Egypt will offer assistance, but without purpose or success. Therefore, concerning this, I cried out: “It is only arrogance! Remain calm.”	7 Però che Egitto aiuterà indarno e vanamente; però gridai sopra questo: è ella pure superbia, taci.
8 Now, therefore, enter and write for them upon a tablet, and note it diligently in a book, and this shall be a testimony in the last days, and even unto eternity.	8 E adunque ora entrato dentro scrivi a lui sopra lo (legno del) bosso; diligentemente lo scrivi in libro; e nelli novissimi dì sarà per testimonianza in eterno.
9 For they are a people who provoke to wrath, and they are lying sons, sons unwilling to listen to the law of God.	9 Però che egli è popolo provocante (me) a ira, e sono figliuoli bugiardi, e figliuoli che non vogliono udire la legge di Dio.
10 They say to the seers, “Do not see,” and to those who behold: “Do not behold for us the things that are right. Speak to us of pleasing things. See errors for us.	10 I quali dicono a quelli che veggiono: non vogliate vedere, e alli ragguardatori: non vogliate ragguardare (diceano) quelle cose le quali a noi sono dirette; parlate a noi le cose che ci piaccino, e vedete a noi li errori.
11 Take me from the way. Avert me from the path. Let the Holy One of Israel cease from before our face.”	11 Togliete da me la via, e declinate da me lo sentiere, (e dicono) cessisi dalla nostra faccia lo santo di Israel.
12 Because of this, thus says the Holy One of Israel: Since you have rejected this word, and you have hoped in calumny and rebellion, and since you have depended upon these things,	12 Però questo dice (lo Signore) santo di Israel: però che voi riprovaste questa parola, e speraste nella calunnia e nel tumulto (delle genti), e setevi fermati sopra quello;
13 for this reason, this iniquity will be to you like a breach that has fallen, and like a gap in a high wall. For its destruction will happen suddenly, when it is not expected.	13 e però sarà a voi questa iniquità come uno rompimento cadente, e questo rompimento si richiuderà in uno grande muro; però che subitamente, quando non si aspetterà, verrà lo suo fracasso.
14 And it will be crushed, just as the earthen vessel of a potter is destroyed by a sharp blow. And not even a fragment of its earthenware will be found, which might carry a little fire from the hearth, or which might draw a little water from a hollow.	14 E spezzerassi, come la zara di quello che fa li vasi, con rompimento molto forte; e de' suoi pezzuoli non si ritroverà uno pezzo piccolo, dove possa portare uno poco di fuoco dello incendio, ovvero che con esso possa attingere uno poco d'acqua dello pozzo.
15 For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: If you return and are quiet, you shall be saved. Your strength will be found in silence and in hope. But you are not willing!	15 Però che questo dice lo santo Iddio d' Israel: se voi ritornate e starete cheti, sarete salvi; e la vostra fortezza starà nel tacere e nello aspettare. E non voleste;
16 And you have said: “Never! Instead, we will flee by horseback.” For this reason, you will be put to flight. And you have said, “We will climb upon swift ones.” For this reason, those who pursue you will be even swifter.	16 e diceste; non sarà vero, ma fuggiremo alli cavalli; e però fuggirete. E sopra li veloci cavalli saliremo; e però quelli che vi perseguiteranno saranno [più] veloci.
17 A thousand men will flee in terror from the face of one, and you will flee in terror from the face of five, until you who have been left behind are like the mast of a ship at the top of a mountain, or like a sign on a hill.	17 Mille uomini fuggirete dalla faccia dello spavento d' uno, e fuggirete dalla faccia dello spavento di cinque, insino a tanto che voi rimagniate come l'arboro della nave nella cima del monte, e come uno segno sopra lo colle.
18 Therefore, the Lord waits, so that he may take pity on you. And therefore, he will be exalted for sparing you. For the Lord is the God of judgment. Blessed are all those who wait for him.	18 E però Iddio aspetta d'avere misericordia di voi; e però egli sarà esaltato perdonando a voi, però che il Signore è Iddio di giudicio. Beati tutti quelli che aspettano lui!
19 For the people of Zion will live in Jerusalem. Bitterly, you will not weep. Mercifully, he will take pity on you. At the voice of your outcry, as soon as he hears, he will respond to you.	19 Però che il popolo di Sion abita in Ierusalem; e piangendo già mai non piagnerai; egli è inisericordioso; averà misericordia di te; incontinente ch' egli ha udita la voce del tuo clamore, risponderà a te.
20 And the Lord will give you thick bread and accessible water. And he will not cause your teacher to fly away from you anymore. And your eyes will behold your instructor.	20 Il Signore darà a te lo pane stretto e l'acqua breve; e non farà partire da te più lo tuo dottore; (questo pane stretto s' intende per la dottrina dell' evangelio, però ch' ella è molto stretta; per l'acqua breve s' intendono li comandamenti della legge, però che si ristringono sotto due comandamenti della caritade; onde dice lo chiosatore, che li giudei dicono che quando uscirono di prigione patirono povertade di cibo e di beveraggio); e li tuoi [occhi] vederanno lo tuo precettore.
21 And your ears will listen to the word of one admonishing you behind your back: “This is the way! Walk in it! And do not turn aside, neither to the right, nor to the left.”	21 E le tue orecchie udiranno la parola, standoti dopo le reni, dello ammonitore: questa è la via, andate per quella, e non vi torcete a mano manca, nè a mano dritta.
22 And you will defile the plates of your silver graven images and the vestment of your gold molten idols. And you will throw these things away like the uncleanness of a menstruating woman. You will say to it, “Go away!”	22 E contaminerai le lamine delli tuoi idoli dello argento, e lo vestimento (della bestia) dell' auro tuo fonduto, e spargera' li sì come la bruttura sozza. Esci fuori, [dirai] a lui,
23 And wherever you sow seed upon the earth, rain will be given to the seed. And bread from the grain of the earth will be very plentiful and full. In that day, the lamb will pasture in the spacious land of your possession.	23 e sarà data la piova al tuo seme, dovunque tu avrai seminato nella terra; e lo pane delle biade della terra sarà abondevole e grasso; in quello di pasceranno nella tua possessione gli agnelli spaziosamente,
24 And your bulls, and the colts of the donkeys that work the ground, will eat a mix of grains like that winnowed on the threshing floor.	24 e li tuoi tori e li poledri, i quali fanno opera alla terra, manucheranno l'orzo colla paglia mescolato, come si ventola nella aia.
25 And there will be, on every lofty mountain, and on every elevated hill, rivers of running water, in the day of the slaughter of many, when the tower will fall.	25 E saranno sopra ogni grande e alto monte, e sopra ogni colle, li rivi dell' acque correnti, nel dì della morte di molti, quando saranno cadute le torri.
26 And the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, like the light of seven days, in the day when the Lord will bind the wound of his people, and when he will heal the stroke of their scourge.	26 E sarà la luce della luna come la luce del sole, e la luce del sole averà tanto splendore quanto hanno sette dì, nel dì nel quale Iddio legò la ferita al suo popolo, quando averà sanata la percossa della piaga sua.
27 Behold, the name of the Lord arrives from far away. His fury is burning and heavy to bear. His lips have been filled with indignation, and his tongue is like a devouring fire.	27 Ecco, lo nome del Signore verrà dalla lunga, lo suo furore ardente, e grave a portare; le suc labbra sono piene di indignazione, e la sua lingua sì è come fuoco divorante.
28 His Spirit is like a torrent, inundating, even as high as the middle of the neck, in order to reduce the nations to nothing, along with the bridle of error that was in the jaws of the people.	28 E lo suo spirito sì è come uno torrente allagante insino al mezzo del collo, ad uccidere le genti e recarle in nulla, e lo freno dello errore il quale era nelle mascelle del populo.
29 There will be a song for you, as in the night of a sanctified solemnity, and a joy of heart, as when one travels with music to arrive at the mountain of the Lord, to the Strong One of Israel.	29 Lo vostro canto sarà come la voce della santificata solennitade, e la letizia del cuore sarà come quello che va colla gamba, per entrare nel monte del Signore al forte Israel.
30 And the Lord will cause the glory of his voice to be heard, and, with a threatening fury and a devouring flame of fire, he will reveal the terror of his arm. He will crush with the whirlwind and with hailstones.	30 E lo Signore farà udire la gloria della sua voce, e dimostrarà lo spavento del suo braccio nel minacciare del furore, nella fiamma del fuoco divorante; percoterà nella tempesta, e nella pietra della gragnuola.
31 For at the voice of the Lord, Assur will dread being struck with the staff.	31 Assur (cioè quella contrada) temerà della voce del Signore, percosso dalla verga.
32 And when the passage of the staff has been begun, the Lord will cause it to rest upon him, with timbrels and harps. And with special battles, he will fight against them.	32 E lo passamento della verga sarà fondato, la quale egli farà riposare sopra lui con citare e con tamburi; e in battaglie speciali egli combatterà loro.
33 For a burning place, deep and wide, has been prepared from yesterday, prepared by the King. Its nourishment is fire and much wood. The breath of the Lord, like a torrent of brimstone, kindles it.	33 Però che Tofet è apparecchiata infino [da] ieri, ed è apparecchiata dallo re, profondata e allargata. Li suoi nutrimenti sono lo fuoco e le legne molte; e lo soffiare del Signore come uno fumarello di solfore accendente quella.
