Isaiah 30

1 “Woe to the sons of apostasy!” says the Lord. For you would take advice, but not from me. And you would begin to weave, but not by my spirit. Thus do you add sin upon sin!	1 ¡Ay de los hijos rebeldes - oráculo de Yahveh - para ejecutar planes, que no son míos, y para hacer libaciones de alianza, mas no a mi aire, amontonando pecado sobre pecado!
2 You are walking so as to descend into Egypt, and you have not sought answers from my mouth, instead hoping for assistance from the strength of Pharaoh and placing trust in the shadow of Egypt.	2 Los que bajan a Egipto sin consultar a mi boca, para buscar apoyo en la fuerza de Faraón y ampararse a la sombra de Egipto.
3 And so, the strength of Pharaoh will be your confusion, and trust in the shadow of Egypt will be your disgrace.	3 La fuerza del Faraón se os convertirá en vergüenza, y el amparo de la sombra de Egipto, en confusión.
4 For your leaders were at Tanis, and your messengers have traveled even as far as Hanes.	4 Cuando estuvieron en Soán sus jefes, y cuando sus emisarios llegaron a Janés,
5 They have all been confounded because of a people who were not able to offer profit to them, who were not of assistance, nor of other usefulness, except to offer confusion and reproach.	5 todos llevaron presentes a un pueblo que les será inútil, a un pueblo que no sirve de ayuda - ni de utilidad - sino de vergüenza y de oprobio.
6 The burden of the beasts in the south. In a land of tribulation and anguish, from which go forth the lioness and the lion, the viper and the flying king snake, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of beasts of burden, and their valuables upon the humps of camels, to a people who are not able to offer profit to them.	6 Oráculo sobre los animales del Négueb. Por tierra de angustia y aridez, de leona y de león rugiente, de áspid y dragón volador, llevan a lomos de pollinos su riqueza, y sobre jiba de camellos sus tesoros hacia un pueblo que no les será útil,
7 For Egypt will offer assistance, but without purpose or success. Therefore, concerning this, I cried out: “It is only arrogance! Remain calm.”	7 a Egipto, cuyo apoyo es huero y vano. Por eso he llamado a ese pueblo «Ráhab la cesante».
8 Now, therefore, enter and write for them upon a tablet, and note it diligently in a book, and this shall be a testimony in the last days, and even unto eternity.	8 Ahora ven, escríbelo en una tablilla, grábalo en un libro, y que dure hasta el último día, para testimonio hasta siempre:
9 For they are a people who provoke to wrath, and they are lying sons, sons unwilling to listen to the law of God.	9 Que es un pueblo terco, criaturas hipócritas, hijos que no aceptan escuchar la instrucción de Yahveh;
10 They say to the seers, “Do not see,” and to those who behold: “Do not behold for us the things that are right. Speak to us of pleasing things. See errors for us.	10 que han dicho a los videntes: «No veáis»; y a los visionarios: «No veáis para nosotros visiones verdaderas; habladnos cosas halagüeñas, contemplad ilusiones.
11 Take me from the way. Avert me from the path. Let the Holy One of Israel cease from before our face.”	11 Apartaos del camino, desviaos de la ruta, dejadnos en paz del Santo de Israel».
12 Because of this, thus says the Holy One of Israel: Since you have rejected this word, and you have hoped in calumny and rebellion, and since you have depended upon these things,	12 Por tanto, así dice el Santo de Israel: Por cuanto habéis rechazado vosotros esta palabra, y por cuanto habéis fiado en lo torcido y perverso y os habéis apoyado en ello,
13 for this reason, this iniquity will be to you like a breach that has fallen, and like a gap in a high wall. For its destruction will happen suddenly, when it is not expected.	13 por eso será para vosotros esta culpa como brecha ruinosa en una alta muralla, cuya quiebra sobrevendrá de un momento a otro,
14 And it will be crushed, just as the earthen vessel of a potter is destroyed by a sharp blow. And not even a fragment of its earthenware will be found, which might carry a little fire from the hearth, or which might draw a little water from a hollow.	14 y va a ser su quiebra como la de una vasija de alfarero, rota sin compasión, en la que al romperse no se encuentra una sola tejoleta bastante grande para tomar fuego del hogar o para extraer agua del aljibe.
15 For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: If you return and are quiet, you shall be saved. Your strength will be found in silence and in hope. But you are not willing!	15 Porque así dice el Señor Yahveh, el Santo de Israel: «Por la conversión y calma seréis liberados, en el sosiego y seguridad estará vuestra fuerza». Pero no aceptasteis,
16 And you have said: “Never! Instead, we will flee by horseback.” For this reason, you will be put to flight. And you have said, “We will climb upon swift ones.” For this reason, those who pursue you will be even swifter.	16 sino que dijisteis: «No, huiremos a caballo». ¡Pues, bien, huid! Y «sobre rápidos carros montaremos». ¡Pues bien, rápidamente seréis perseguidos!
17 A thousand men will flee in terror from the face of one, and you will flee in terror from the face of five, until you who have been left behind are like the mast of a ship at the top of a mountain, or like a sign on a hill.	17 Mil temblarán ante la amenaza de uno solo; ante la amenaza de cinco huiréis, hasta que seáis dejados como mástil en la cúspide del monte y como gallardete sobre una colina.
18 Therefore, the Lord waits, so that he may take pity on you. And therefore, he will be exalted for sparing you. For the Lord is the God of judgment. Blessed are all those who wait for him.	18 Sin embargo aguardará Yahveh para haceros gracia, y así se levantará para compadeceros, porque Dios de equidad es Yahveh: ¡dichosos todos los que en él esperan!
19 For the people of Zion will live in Jerusalem. Bitterly, you will not weep. Mercifully, he will take pity on you. At the voice of your outcry, as soon as he hears, he will respond to you.	19 Sí, pueblo de Sión que habitas en Jerusalén, no llorarás ya más; de cierto tendrá piedad de ti, cuando oiga tu clamor; en cuanto lo oyere, te responderá.
20 And the Lord will give you thick bread and accessible water. And he will not cause your teacher to fly away from you anymore. And your eyes will behold your instructor.	20 Os dará el Señor pan de asedio y aguas de opresión, y después no será ya ocultado el que te enseña; con tus ojos verás al que te enseña,
21 And your ears will listen to the word of one admonishing you behind your back: “This is the way! Walk in it! And do not turn aside, neither to the right, nor to the left.”	21 y con tus oídos oirás detrás de ti estas palabras: «Ese es el camino, id por él», ya sea a la derecha, ya a la izquierda.
22 And you will defile the plates of your silver graven images and the vestment of your gold molten idols. And you will throw these things away like the uncleanness of a menstruating woman. You will say to it, “Go away!”	22 Declararás impuro el revestimiento de tus ídolos de plata y el ornato de tus imágenes fundidas en oro. Los rechazarás como paño inmundo: «¡Fuera de aquí!», les dirás.
23 And wherever you sow seed upon the earth, rain will be given to the seed. And bread from the grain of the earth will be very plentiful and full. In that day, the lamb will pasture in the spacious land of your possession.	23 El dará lluvia a tu sementera con que hayas sembrado el suelo, y la tierra te producirá pan que será pingüe y sustancioso. Pacerán tus ganados aquel día en pastizal dilatado;
24 And your bulls, and the colts of the donkeys that work the ground, will eat a mix of grains like that winnowed on the threshing floor.	24 los bueyes y asnos que trabajan el suelo comerán forraje salado, cribado con bieldo y con criba.
25 And there will be, on every lofty mountain, and on every elevated hill, rivers of running water, in the day of the slaughter of many, when the tower will fall.	25 Habrá sobre todo monte alto y sobre todo cerro elevado manantiales que den aguas perennes, el día de la gran matanza, cuando caigan las fortalezas.
26 And the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, like the light of seven days, in the day when the Lord will bind the wound of his people, and when he will heal the stroke of their scourge.	26 Será la luz de la luna como la luz del sol meridiano, y la luz del sol meridiano será siete veces mayor - con luz de siete días - el día que vende Yahveh la herida de su pueblo y cure la contusión de su golpe.
27 Behold, the name of the Lord arrives from far away. His fury is burning and heavy to bear. His lips have been filled with indignation, and his tongue is like a devouring fire.	27 He aquí que el nombre de Yahveh viene de lejos, ardiente su ira y pesada su opresión. Sus labios llenos están de furor, su lengua es como fuego que devora,
28 His Spirit is like a torrent, inundating, even as high as the middle of the neck, in order to reduce the nations to nothing, along with the bridle of error that was in the jaws of the people.	28 y su aliento como torrente desbordado que cubre hasta el cuello. Cribará a las naciones con criba nefasta, pondrá el bocado de sus bridas en la mandíbula de sus pueblos.
29 There will be a song for you, as in the night of a sanctified solemnity, and a joy of heart, as when one travels with music to arrive at the mountain of the Lord, to the Strong One of Israel.	29 Vosotros cantaréis como en la noche de santificar fiesta; se os alegrará el corazón como el de quien va al son de flauta a entrar en el monte de Yahveh, a la Peña de Israel.
30 And the Lord will cause the glory of his voice to be heard, and, with a threatening fury and a devouring flame of fire, he will reveal the terror of his arm. He will crush with the whirlwind and with hailstones.	30 Hará oír Yahveh la majestad de su voz, y mostrará la descarga de su brazo con ira inflamada y llama de fuego devoradora, turbión, aguacero y granizo.
31 For at the voice of the Lord, Assur will dread being struck with the staff.	31 Pues por la voz de Yahveh será hecho añicos Asur: con un bastón le golpeará.
32 And when the passage of the staff has been begun, the Lord will cause it to rest upon him, with timbrels and harps. And with special battles, he will fight against them.	32 A cada pasada de la vara de castigo que Yahveh descargue sobre él - con adufes y con arpas - y con guerras de sacudir las manos guerreará contra él.
33 For a burning place, deep and wide, has been prepared from yesterday, prepared by the King. Its nourishment is fire and much wood. The breath of the Lord, like a torrent of brimstone, kindles it.	33 Porque de antemano está preparado un Tófet - también para el rey - un foso profundo y ancho; hay paja y madera en abundancia. El aliento de Yahveh, cual torrente de azufre, lo enciende.
