Psalms 50

CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN	JERUSALEM
1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David,
2 when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he went to Bathsheba.	2 Depuis Sion, beauté parfaite, Dieu resplendit;
3 Be merciful to me, O God, according to your great mercy. And, according to the plentitude of your compassion, wipe out my iniquity.	3 il vient, notre Dieu, il ne se taira point. Devant lui, un feu dévore, autour de lui, bourrasqueviolente;
4 Wash me once again from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.	4 il appelle les cieux d'en haut et la terre pour juger son peuple.
5 For I know my iniquity, and my sin is ever before me.	5 "Assemblez devant moi les miens, qui scellèrent mon alliance en sacrifiant."
6 Against you only have I sinned, and I have done evil before your eyes. And so, you are justified in your words, and you will prevail when you give judgment.	6 Les cieux annoncent sa justice: "Dieu, c'est lui le juge! "
7 For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sinfulness did my mother conceive me.	7 "Ecoute, mon peuple, j'accuse, Israël, et je t'adjure, moi, Dieu, ton Dieu.
8 For behold, you have loved truth. The obscure and hidden things of your wisdom, you have manifested to me.	8 Ce n'est pas tes sacrifices que j'accuse, tes holocaustes constamment devant moi;
9 You will sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed. You will wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow.	9 je ne prendrai pas de ta maison un taureau, ni de tes bergeries des boucs.
10 In my hearing, you will grant gladness and rejoicing. And the bones that have been humbled will exult.	10 Car tout fauve des forêts est à moi, des animaux sur les montagnes par milliers;
11 Turn your face away from my sins, and erase all my iniquities.	11 je connais tous les oiseaux des cieux, toute bête des champs est pour moi.
12 Create a clean heart in me, O God. And renew an upright spirit within my inmost being.	12 Si j'ai faim, je n'irai pas te le dire, car le monde est à moi et son contenu.
13 Do not cast me away from your face; and do not take your Holy Spirit from me.	13 Vais-je manger la chair des taureaux, le sang des boucs, vais-je le boire?
14 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and confirm me with an unsurpassed spirit.	14 Offre à Dieu un sacrifice d'action de grâces, accomplis tes voeux pour le Très-Haut;
15 I will teach the unjust your ways, and the impious will be converted to you.	15 appelle-moi au jour de l'angoisse, je t'affranchirai et tu me rendras gloire."
16 Free me from blood, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue will extol your justice.	16 Mais l'impie, Dieu lui déclare: "Que viens-tu réciter mes commandements, qu'as-tu mon alliance àla bouche,
17 O Lord, you will open my lips, and my mouth will announce your praise.	17 toi qui détestes la règle et rejettes mes paroles derrière toi?
18 For if you had desired sacrifice, I would certainly have given it, but with holocausts, you will not be delighted.	18 Si tu vois un voleur, tu fraternises, tu es chez toi parmi les adultères;
19 A crushed spirit is a sacrifice to God. A contrite and humbled heart, O God, you will not spurn.	19 tu livres ta bouche au mal et ta langue trame la tromperie.
20 Act kindly, Lord, in your good will toward Zion, so that the walls of Jerusalem may be built up.	20 Tu t'assieds, tu accuses ton frère, tu déshonores le fils de ta mère.
21 Then you will accept the sacrifice of justice, oblations, and holocausts. Then they will lay calves upon your altar.	21 Voilà ce que tu fais, et je me tairais? Penses-tu que je suis comme toi? Je te dénonce et m'expliquedevant toi.
	22 Prenez bien garde, vous qui oubliez Dieu, que je n'emporte, et personne pour délivrer!
	23 Qui offre l'action de grâces me rend gloire, à l'homme droit, je ferai voir le salut de Dieu."
