1 Then David again gathered together all the elect men of Israel, thirty thousand.	1 E David un' altra volta congregò tutti gli eletti d' Israel, XXX milia.
2 And David arose and went away, with the entire people who were with him from the men of Judah, so that they might lead back the ark of God, over which is invoked the name of the Lord of hosts, who sits upon the cherubim above it.	2 E andonne, e tutto il popolo ch' era con lui degli uomini di Giuda, per menare l'arca di Dio, sopra la quale era invocato il nome del Signore degli eserciti, il quale siede sopra lei negli Cherubini.
3 And they placed the ark of God on a new cart. And they took it from the house of Abinadab, who was in Gibeon. And Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.	3 E puosero l'arca di Dio sopra uno carro nuovo; e tolserla di casa di Abinadab il quale era in Gabaa: e Oza e Aio, figliuoli di Abinadab, menavano il carro nuovo.
4 And when they had taken it from the house of Abinadab, who was in Gibeon, Ahio preceded the ark as the keeper of the ark of God.	4 E avendola tolta di casa di Abinadab, il quale era in Gabaa, guardante l'arca di Dio Aio andava innanzi all' arca.
5 But David and all of Israel played before the Lord on every kind of musical instrument made of wood, and on harps, and lyres, and timbrels, and bells, and cymbals.	5 E David e tutto Israel sollazzavano nel cospetto di Dio in tutti i stromenti de' legni fabbricati in chitarre, lire, timpani, sistri e cimbali.
6 And after they had arrived at the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah extended his hand to the ark of God, and he touched it, because the oxen were kicking and had caused it to tip.	6 E dappoi che vennero all' aia di Nacon, Oza istese la mano all' arca di Dio, e tennela; perciò che li buoi ricalcitravano, e avevanla fatta chinare.
7 And the indignation of the Lord was enraged against Uzzah. And he struck him for his temerity. And there he died, beside the ark of God.	7 E corrucciossi Iddio contro Oza d' indignazione, e ferillo per la sua presunzione; e fue morto ivi presso all' arca di Dio.
8 Then David was saddened because the Lord had struck Uzzah. And the name of that place was called: the Striking of Uzzah, even to this day.	8 E contristossi David, perchè Iddio avea ferito Oza. E chiamossi quello luogo PERCOSSIONE DI OZA insino al presente dì.
9 And David was very fearful of the Lord on that day, saying, “How shall the ark of the Lord be brought to me?”	9 E temette David Iddio in quel dì, dicendo: come entrerà a me l'arca di Dio?
10 And he was not willing to send the ark of the Lord to himself in the city of David. Instead, he sent it into the house of Obededom, the Gittite.	10 E non volse che l'arca andasse in casa sua nella città di David; ma menolla in casa di Obede dom di Get.
11 And the ark of the Lord dwelt in the house of Obededom the Gittite, for three months. And the Lord blessed Obededom, and all his household.	11 E ivi stette tre mesi; e benedisse Iddio Obededom, e tutta la casa sua (per l'arca di Dio).
12 And it was reported to king David that the Lord had blessed Obededom, and all that was his, because of the ark of God. Therefore, David went and brought the ark of God, from the house of Obededom, into the city of David with joy. And there were with David seven choirs, and calves for victims.	12 E fu nunciato a David re, che il Signore avea benedetto Obededom, e tutte le cose sue, per l'arca di Dio. (E disse David: io andrò e rimenerò l'arca di Dio colla benedizione in casa mia). E andò David, e rimenò l'arca di Dio di casa di Obededom (di Get in casa sua) nella terra di David con allegrezza. Ed erano con David sette balli, e vittima d'uno vitello.
13 And when those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had traveled six steps, he immolated an ox and a ram.	13 E quando quelli che portavano l' arca aveano passati sei passi, offeriano uno bue e uno montone.
14 And David danced with all his ability before the Lord. And David was girded with the linen ephod.	14 E David (sonava organi legati alle spalle e) saltava con tutte le forze dinanzi da Dio, ed era accinto dello efod del lino.
15 And David, and all the house of Israel, were leading the ark of the testament of the Lord, with jubilation and the sound of the trumpet.	15 E David, e tutto Israel, menavano l'arca del testamento di Dio con canto e con suono di trombe.
16 And when the ark of the Lord had entered into the city of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looking out through a window, saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord. And she despised him in her heart.	16 Ed entrando l'arca di Dio nella città di David, Micol figliuola di Saul, guardando per una fenestra, vidde David saltando di loco in loco dinanzi al Signore; e isprezzollo nel suo cuore.
17 And they led in the ark of the Lord. And they set it in its place in the middle of the tabernacle, which David had pitched for it. And David offered holocausts and peace offerings in the sight of the Lord.	17 É introdussero l'arca di Dio, e puoserla nel mezzo del tabernacolo, il quale David gli avea apparecchiato. E offerse David olocausti e pacifiche ostie.
18 And when he had completed offering holocausts and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.	18 E compiuti di offerire gli olocausti e le pacifiche ostie, benedisse il popolo nel nome del Signore degli eserciti.
19 And he distributed to the entire multitude of Israel, as much to men as to women, to each one: one loaf of bread, and one piece of roasted beef, and fine wheat flour fried with oil. And all the people went away, each one to his own house.	19 E partì a tutta la moltitudine, a uomini e a femine, a ciascuno una pezza di carne di buffala rosta, una foccaccia di pane e una fritella fritta in olio. E tutto il popolo si tornò in casa sua ciascuno.
20 And David returned, so that he might bless his own house. And Michal, the daughter of Saul, going out to meet David, said: “How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself before the handmaids of his servants, and being unclothed, as if one of the performers were unclothed.”	20 E ritornò David per benedire alla sua casa; e uscendo Micol figliuola di Saul incontro a David, disse: come fu oggi glorioso il re d' Israel, iscoprendosi dinanzi alle serve de' servi suoi, ad essere ignudo quasi come uno ribaldo.
21 And David said to Michal: “Before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father, and rather than his entire house, and who commanded me, that I should be the leader over the people of the Lord in Israel,	21 E David disse a Micol: (vive il Signore ch' io ho giudicato) nel cospetto del Signore il quale elesse me, e non il padre tuo e tutta la casa sua, e comandommi ch' io fossi duca sopra tutto il popolo del Signore d' Israel,
22 I will both play and demean myself, more so than I have done. And I will be little in my own eyes. And with the handmaids, about whom you are speaking, I will appear more glorious.”	22 e trastullerò, e farommi più vile che non sono; e sarò umile negli occhii miei, e colle serve, delle quali tu hai detto, io apparirò più glorioso.
23 And so, there was no child born to Michal, the daughter of Saul, even to the day of her death.	23 E a Micol figliuola di Saul non nacque figliuolo insino al di della morte sua.
