NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
A miktam of David. Keep me safe, O God; in you I take refuge1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
I say to the Lord, you are my Lord, you are my only good.2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
Worthless are all the false gods of the land. Accursed are all who delight in them.3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
They multiply their sorrows who court other gods. Blood libations to them I will not pour out, nor will I take their names upon my lips.4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
LORD, my allotted portion and my cup, you have made my destiny secure.5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
Pleasant places were measured out for me; fair to me indeed is my inheritance.6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
I bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my heart exhorts me.7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
I keep the LORD always before me; with the Lord at my right, I shall never be shaken.8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, my soul rejoices; my body also dwells secure,9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
For you will not abandon me to Sheol, nor let your faithful servant see the pit.10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
You will show me the path to life, abounding joy in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
