Psalms 16

1 A miktam of David. Keep me safe, O God; in you I take refuge	1 A mi-voix. De David. Garde-moi, ô Dieu, mon refuge est en toi.
2 I say to the Lord, you are my Lord, you are my only good.	2 J'ai dit à Yahvé: C'est toi mon Seigneur, mon bonheur n'est en aucun
3 Worthless are all the false gods of the land. Accursed are all who delight in them.	3 de ces démons de la terre. Ceux-là en imposent à tous ceux qui les aiment,
4 They multiply their sorrows who court other gods. Blood libations to them I will not pour out, nor will I take their names upon my lips.	4 leurs idoles foisonnent, on court à leur suite. Verser leurs libations de sang? Jamais! Faire monterleurs noms sur mes lèvres? Jamais!
5 LORD, my allotted portion and my cup, you have made my destiny secure.	5 Yahvé, ma part d'héritage et ma coupe, c'est toi qui garantis mon lot;
6 Pleasant places were measured out for me; fair to me indeed is my inheritance.	6 le cordeau me marque un enclos de délices, et l'héritage est pour moi magnifique.
7 I bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my heart exhorts me.	7 Je bénis Yahvé qui s'est fait mon conseil, et même la nuit, mon coeur m'instruit.
8 I keep the LORD always before me; with the Lord at my right, I shall never be shaken.	8 J'ai mis Yahvé devant moi sans relâche; puisqu'il est à ma droite, je ne bronche pas.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, my soul rejoices; my body also dwells secure,	9 Aussi, mon coeur exulte, mes entrailles jubilent, et ma chair reposera en sûreté;
10 For you will not abandon me to Sheol, nor let your faithful servant see the pit.	10 car tu ne peux abandonner mon âme au shéol, tu ne peux laisser ton ami voir la fosse.
11 You will show me the path to life, abounding joy in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.	11 Tu m'apprendras le chemin de vie, devant ta face, plénitude de joie, en ta droite, délices éternelles.
