1 ויהי ככלות ישוע לדבר את כל הדברים האלה ויאמר אל תלמידיו	1 Ye know that after two days the passover takes place, and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.
2 אתם ידעתם כי אחרי יומים יהיה הפסח ובן האדם ימסר להצלב	2 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together to the palace of the high priest who was called Caiaphas,
3 ויקהלו הכהנים הגדולים והסופרים וזקני העם אל חצר הכהן הגדול הנקרא קיפא	3 and took counsel together in order that they might seize Jesus by subtlety and kill him;
4 ויועצו יחדו לתפש את ישוע בערמה ולהמיתו	4 but they said, Not in the feast, that there be not a tumult among the people.
5 ויאמרו אך לא בחג פן תהיה מהומה בעם	5 a woman, having an alabaster flask of very precious ointment, came to him and poured it out upon his head as he lay at table.
6 ויהי בהיות ישוע בית היני בבית שמעון המצרע	6 But the disciples seeing it became indignant, saying, To what end {was} this waste?
7 ותקרב אליו אשה ובידה פך שמן יקר מאד ותצק על ראשו בהסבו על השלחן	7 for this might have been sold for much and been given to the poor.
8 ויראו התלמידים ויתרעמו לאמר על מה האבוד הזה	8 But Jesus knowing {it} said to them, Why do ye trouble the woman? for she has wrought a good work toward me.
9 כי השמן הזה היה ראוי להמכר במחיר רב ולתתו לעניים	9 For ye have the poor always with you, but me ye have not always.
10 וידע ישוע ויאמר אליהם למה תוגו את האשה הלא מעשה טוב עשתה עמדי	10 For in pouring out this ointment on my body, she has done it for my burying.
11 כי עניים תמיד עמכם ואנכי אינני אתכם תמיד	11 Verily I say to you, Wheresoever these glad tidings may be preached in the whole world, that also which this {woman} has done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
12 כי אשר שפכה את השמן הזה על גופי לחנט אותי עשתה זאת	12 and said, What are ye willing to give me, and *I* will deliver him up to you? And they appointed to him thirty pieces of silver.
13 אמן אמר אני לכם באשר תקרא הבשורה הזאת בכל העולם גם את אשר היא עשתה יספר לזכרון לה	13 And from that time he sought a good opportunity that he might deliver him up.
14 וילך אחד משנים העשר הנקרא יהודה איש קריות אל ראשי הכהנים	14 And he said, Go into the city unto such a one, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is near, I will keep the passover in thy house with my disciples.
15 ויאמר מה תתנו לי ואמסרנו בידכם וישקלו לו שלשים כסף	15 And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the passover.
16 ומן העת ההיא בקש תאנה למסר אותו	16 And when the evening was come he lay down at table with the twelve.
17 ויהי בראשון לחג המצות ויגשו התלמידים אל ישוע לאמר באי זה מקום תחפץ כי נכין לך לאכל את הפסח	17 And as they were eating he said, Verily I say to you, that one of you shall deliver me up.
18 ויאמר לכו העירה אל פלני אלמני ואמרתם אליו כה אמר הרב עתי קרובה היא ובביתך אעשה את הפסח עם תלמידי	18 And being exceedingly grieved they began to say to him, each of them, Is it *I*, Lord?
19 ויעשו התלמידים כאשר צום ישוע ויכינו את הפסח	19 But he answering said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, *he* it is who shall deliver me up.
20 ויהי בערב ויסב עם שנים העשר	20 The Son of man goes indeed, according as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up; it were good for that man if he had not been born.
21 ובאכלם ויאמר אמן אמר אני לכם כי אחד מכם ימסרני	21 And Judas, who delivered him up, answering said, Is it *I*, Rabbi? He says to him, *Thou* hast said.
22 ויתעצבו מאד ויחלו איש ואיש לאמר לו האנכי הוא אדני	22 And having taken {the} cup and given thanks, he gave {it} to them, saying, Drink ye all of it.
23 ויען ויאמר האיש אשר טבל עמי את ידו בקערה הוא ימסרני	23 For this is my blood, that of the {new} covenant, that shed for many for remission of sins.
24 הן בן האדם הלוך ילך לו ככתוב עליו אבל אוי לאיש ההוא אשר על ידו ימסר בן האדם טוב לאיש ההוא אם לא נולד	24 But I say to you, that I will not at all drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.
25 ויען יהודה המסר אותו ויאמר רבי האני הוא ויאמר אליו אתה אמרת	25 Depois do canto dos Salmos, dirigiram-se eles para o monte das Oliveiras.
26 ובאכלם ויקח ישוע את הלחם ויברך ויבצע ויתן לתלמידים ויאמר קחו ואכלו זה הוא גופי	26 Disse-lhes então Jesus: Esta noite serei para todos vós uma ocasião de queda; porque está escrito: Ferirei o pastor, e as ovelhas do rebanho serão dispersadas {Zc 13,7}.
27 ויקח את הכוס ויברך ויתן להם לאמר שתו ממנה כלכם	27 Mas, depois da minha Ressurreição, eu vos precederei na Galiléia.
28 כי זה הוא דמי דם הברית החדשה הנשפך בעד רבים לסליחת חטאים	28 Pedro interveio: Mesmo que sejas para todos uma ocasião de queda, para mim jamais o serás.
29 ואני אמר לכם כי מעתה שתה לא אשתה מתנובת הגפן הזאת עד היום ההוא אשר אשתה אתה עמכם חדשה במלכות אבי	29 Disse-lhe Jesus: Em verdade te digo: nesta noite mesma, antes que o galo cante, três vezes me negarás.
30 ויהי אחרי גמרם את ההלל ויצאו אל הר הזיתים	30 Respondeu-lhe Pedro: Mesmo que seja necessário morrer contigo, jamais te negarei! E todos os outros discípulos diziam-lhe o mesmo.
31 אז אמר אליהם ישוע אתם כלכם תכשלו בי בלילה הזה כי כתוב אכה את הרעה ותפוצין הצאן	31 Retirou-se Jesus com eles para um lugar chamado Getsêmani e disse-lhes: Assentai-vos aqui, enquanto eu vou ali orar.
32 ואחרי קומי אלך לפניכם הגלילה	32 E, tomando consigo Pedro e os dois filhos de Zebedeu, começou a entristecer-se e a angustiar-se.
33 ויען פטרוס ויאמר לו גם כי יכשלו בך כלם אני לעולם לא אכשל	33 Disse-lhes, então: Minha alma está triste até a morte. Ficai aqui e vigiai comigo.
34 ויאמר אליו ישוע אמן אמר אני לך כי בלילה הזה בטרם יקרא התרנגול תכחש בי שלש פעמים	34 Adiantou-se um pouco e, prostrando-se com a face por terra, assim rezou: Meu Pai, se é possível, afasta de mim este cálice! Todavia não se faça o que eu quero, mas sim o que tu queres.
35 ויאמר אליו פטרוס גם כי יהיה עלי למות אתך כחש לא אכחש בך וכן אמרו גם כל התלמידים	35 Foi ter então com os discípulos e os encontrou dormindo. E disse a Pedro: Então não pudestes vigiar uma hora comigo...
36 אחרי כן בא אתם ישוע אל חצר הנקרא גת שמני ויאמר אל התלמידים שבו לכם פה עד אשר אלך שמה והתפללתי	36 Vigiai e orai para que não entreis em tentação. O espírito está pronto, mas a carne é fraca.
37 ויקח אתו את פטרוס ואת שני בני זבדי ויחל להעצב ולמוג	37 Afastou-se pela segunda vez e orou, dizendo: Meu Pai, se não é possível que este cálice passe sem que eu o beba, faça-se a tua vontade!
38 ויאמר להם נפשי מרה לי עד מות עמדו פה ושקדו עמי	38 Voltou ainda e os encontrou novamente dormindo, porque seus olhos estavam pesados.
39 וילך מעט האלה ויפל על פניו ויתפלל לאמר אבי אם יוכל להיות תעבר נא מעלי הכוס הזאת אך לא כרצוני כי אם כרצונך	39 Deixou-os e foi orar pela terceira vez, dizendo as mesmas palavras.
40 ויבא אל התלמידים וימצאם ישנים ויאמר אל פטרוס הנה לא היה ביכלתכם לשקד עמי שעה אחת	40 Voltou então para os seus discípulos e disse-lhes: Dormi agora e repousai! Chegou a hora: o Filho do Homem vai ser entregue nas mãos dos pecadores...
41 שקדו והתפללו פן תבאו לידי נסיון הן הרוח היא חפצה והבשר הוא רפה	41 Levantai-vos, vamos! Aquele que me trai está perto daqui.
42 ויוסף ללכת לו שנית ויתפלל לאמר אבי אם לא תוכל הכוס הזאת לעבר ממני מבלי שתותי אתה יהי כרצונך	42 Jesus ainda falava, quando veio Judas, um dos Doze, e com ele uma multidão de gente armada de espadas e cacetes, enviada pelos príncipes dos sacerdotes e pelos anciãos do povo.
43 ויבא וימצאם גם בפעם הזאת ישנים כי עיניהם היו כבדות	43 O traidor combinara com eles este sinal: Aquele que eu beijar, é ele. Prendei-o!
44 ויניחם ויוסף ללכת ויתפלל שלישית באמרו עוד הפעם כדבר הזה	44 Aproximou-se imediatamente de Jesus e disse: Salve, Mestre. E beijou-o.
45 ויבא אל התלמידים ויאמר אליהם נומו מעתה ונוחו הנה השעה קרובה ובן האדם נמסר לידי חטאים	45 Disse-lhe Jesus: É, então, para isso que vens aqui? Em seguida, adiantaram-se eles e lançaram mão em Jesus para prendê-lo.
46 קומו ונלכה הנה הלך וקרב המסר אותי	46 Mas um dos companheiros de Jesus desembainhou a espada e feriu um servo do sumo sacerdote, decepando-lhe a orelha.
47 עודנו מדבר והנה בא יהודה אחד משנים העשר ועמו המון רב ברחבות ובמקלות מאת ראשי הכהנים וזקני העם	47 Jesus, no entanto, lhe disse: Embainha tua espada, porque todos aqueles que usarem da espada, pela espada morrerão.
48 והמסר אתו נתן להם אות לאמר האיש אשר אשקהו זה הוא תפשוהו	48 Crês tu que não posso invocar meu Pai e ele não me enviaria imediatamente mais de doze legiões de anjos?
49 ומיד נגש אל ישוע ויאמר שלום לך רבי וינשק לו	49 Mas como se cumpririam então as Escrituras, segundo as quais é preciso que seja assim?
50 ויאמר אליו ישוע רעי על מה באת ויגשו וישלחו את ידיהם בישוע ויתפשו אתו	50 Depois, voltando-se para a turba, falou: Saístes armados de espadas e porretes para prender-me, como se eu fosse um malfeitor. Entretanto, todos os dias estava eu sentado entre vós ensinando no templo e não me prendestes.
51 והנה אחד מן האנשים אשר עם ישוע שלח ידו וישלף חרבו ויך את עבד הכהן הגדול ויקצץ את אזנו	51 Mas tudo isto aconteceu porque era necessário que se cumprissem os oráculos dos profetas. Então os discípulos o abandonaram e fugiram.
52 ויאמר אליו ישוע השב את חרבך אל תערה כי כל אחזי חרב בחרב יאבדו	52 Os que haviam prendido Jesus levaram-no à casa do sumo sacerdote Caifás, onde estavam reunidos os escribas e os anciãos do povo.
53 או היחשב לבך כי לא יכלתי לשאל עתה מאת אבי והוא יצוה לי יותר משנים עשר לגיונות של מלאכים	53 Pedro seguia-o de longe, até o pátio do sumo sacerdote. Entrou e sentou-se junto aos criados para ver como terminaria aquilo.
54 ואיככה אפוא ימלאו הכתובים כי כן היה תהיה	54 Enquanto isso, os príncipes dos sacerdotes e todo o conselho procuravam um falso testemunho contra Jesus, a fim de o levarem à morte.
55 בשעה ההיא אמר ישוע אל המון העם כעל פריץ יצאתם בחרבות ובמקלות לתפשני ויום יום הייתי ישב ומלמד אצלכם במקדש ולא החזקתם בי	55 Mas não o conseguiram, embora se apresentassem muitas falsas testemunhas.
56 וכל זאת היתה למלאת כתבי הנביאים אז עזבוהו התלמידים כלם וינוסו	56 Por fim, apresentaram-se duas testemunhas, que disseram: Este homem disse: Posso destruir o templo de Deus e reedificá-lo em três dias.
57 והאנשים אשר תפשו את ישוע הוליכהו אל קיפא הכהן הגדול אשר נקהלו שם הסופרים והזקנים	57 Levantou-se o sumo sacerdote e lhe perguntou: Nada tens a responder ao que essa gente depõe contra ti?
58 ופטרוס הלך אחריו מרחוק עד לחצר הכהן הגדול ויבא פנימה וישב לו אצל המשרתים לראות את אחרית הדבר	58 Jesus, no entanto, permanecia calado. Disse-lhe o sumo sacerdote: Por Deus vivo, conjuro-te que nos digas se és o Cristo, o Filho de Deus?
59 והכהנים הגדולים והסופרים וכל הסנהדרין בקשו עדות שקר בישוע להמיתו ולא מצאו	59 Jesus respondeu: Sim. Além disso, eu vos declaro que vereis doravante o Filho do Homem sentar-se à direita do Todo-poderoso, e voltar sobre as nuvens do céu.
60 ואף בעמד שם עדי שקר רבים לא מצאו ובאחרונה נגשו שני עדי שקר	60 A estas palavras, o sumo sacerdote rasgou suas vestes, exclamando: Que necessidade temos ainda de testemunhas? Acabastes de ouvir a blasfêmia!
61 ויאמרו זה אמר יש ביכלתי להרס את היכל האלהים ולשוב לבנותו בשלשת ימים	61 Qual o vosso parecer? Eles responderam: Merece a morte!
62 ויקם הכהן הגדול ויאמר אליו האינך משיב דבר על אשר ענו בך אלה	62 Cuspiram-lhe então na face, bateram-lhe com os punhos e deram-lhe tapas,
63 וישוע החריש ויען הכהן הגדול ויאמר לו משביעך אני באלהים חיים שתאמר לנו אם אתה הוא המשיח בן האלהים	63 dizendo: Adivinha, ó Cristo: quem te bateu?
64 ויאמר אליו ישוע אתה אמרת אבל אני אמר לכם כי מעתה תראו את בן האדם ישב לימין הגבורה ובא עם ענני השמים	64 Enquanto isso, Pedro estava sentado no pátio. Aproximou-se dele uma das servas, dizendo: Também tu estavas com Jesus, o Galileu.
65 ויקרע הכהן הגדול את בגדיו ויאמר הוא גדף ומה לנו עוד לבקש עדים הנה עתה שמעתם את גדופו	65 Mas ele negou publicamente, nestes termos: Não sei o que dizes.
66 מה דעתכם ויענו ויאמרו איש מות הוא	66 Dirigia-se ele para a porta, a fim de sair, quando outra criada o viu e disse aos que lá estavam: Este homem também estava com Jesus de Nazaré.
67 וירקו בפניו ויכהו באגרוף ואחרים הכהו על הלחי	67 Pedro, pela segunda vez, negou com juramento: Eu nem conheço tal homem.
68 ויאמרו הנבא לנו המשיח מי הוא המכה אותך	68 Pouco depois, os que ali estavam aproximaram-se de Pedro e disseram: Sim, tu és daqueles; teu modo de falar te dá a conhecer.
69 ופטרוס ישב מחוץ לבית בחצר ותגש אליו שפחה לאמר גם אתה היית עם ישוע הגלילי	69 Pedro então começou a fazer imprecações, jurando que nem sequer conhecia tal homem. E, neste momento, cantou o galo.
70 ויכחש בפני כלם לאמר לא ידעתי מה את אמרת	70 Pedro recordou-se do que Jesus lhe dissera: Antes que o galo cante, negar-me-ás três vezes. E saindo, chorou amargamente.
71 ויצא אל פתח השער ותרא אותו אחרת ותאמר לאנשים אשר שם גם זה היה עם ישוע הנצרי
72 ויוסף לכחש וישבע לאמר לא ידעתי את האיש
73 וכמעט אחרי כן ויגשו העמדים שם ויאמרו אל פטרוס אמת כי גם אתה מהם כי גם לשונך מגלה אותך
74 ויחל להחרים את נפשו ולהשבע לאמר לא ידעתי את האיש ומיד קרא התרנגול
75 ויזכר פטרוס את דבר ישוע אשר אמר אליו לאמר בטרם יקרא התרנגול תכחש בי שלש פעמים ויצא החוצה וימרר בבכי
