| 1 Ed io, o fratelli, non potei parlare a voi, come a spirituali, ma come a carnali. Come a pargoletti in Cristo. | 1 But I, brethren, could not address you as spiritual men, but as men of the flesh, as babes in Christ. |
| 2 Vi nutrii con latte, non con cibo: imperocché non ne eravate per anco capaci: anzi noi siete neppur adesso: dappoiché siete ancora carnali. | 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food; for you were not ready for it; and even yet you are not ready, |
| 3 Imperocché essendo tra voi livore, e discordia, non siete voi carnali, e non camminate voi secondo l'uomo? | 3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh, and behaving like ordinary men? |
| 4 Imperocché quando uno dice: io son di Paolo; e un altro: io son di Apollo: non siete voi uomini? Che è adunque Apollo? E che è egli di Paolo? | 4 For when one says, "I belong to Paul," and another, "I belong to Apollos," are you not merely men? |
| 5 Ministri di colui, cui voi avete creduto, e secondo quel, che a ciascheduno ha concesso il Signore. | 5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. |
| 6 Io piantai, Apollo innaffiò: ma Dio diede il crescere. | 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. |
| 7 Di modo che non è nulla né colui, che pianta, né colui che innaffia: ma Dio, che da il crescere. | 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. |
| 8 E una stessa cosa è quegli, che pianta, e quegli, che innaffia. E ognuno riceverà la sua mercede a proporzione di sua fatica. | 8 He who plants and he who waters are equal, and each shall receive his wages according to his labor. |
| 9 Imperocché noi siamo cooperatori di Dio: cultura di Dio siete voi, voi edifizio di Dio. | 9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. |
| 10 Secondo la grazia di Dio, che è stata a me concessa, da perito architetto io gettai il fondamento: un altro poi vi fabbrica sopra. Badi però ognuno al modo, onde tira su la fabbrica. | 10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and another man is building upon it. Let each man take care how he builds upon it. |
| 11 Imperocché altro fondamento non può gettar chicchessia fuori di quello, che è stato gettato, che è Cristo Gesù. | 11 For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. |
| 12 Che se uno sopra questo fondamento fabbrica oro, argento, pietre preziose, legna, fieno, stoppie, | 12 Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw-- |
| 13 Si farà manifesto il lavoro di ciascheduno: imperocché il dì del Signore lo porrà in chiaro, dappoiché sarà di svelato per mezzo del fuoco: e il fuoco proverà, quale sia il lavoro di ciascheduno, | 13 each man's work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. |
| 14 Se sussisterà il lavoro, che uno vi ha sopra edificato, ne avrà ricompensa. | 14 If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. |
| 15 Se di alcuno il lavoro arderà, nè soffrirà egli il danno: ma sarà salvato, così però, come per mezzo del fuoco. | 15 If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. |
| 16 Non sapete voi, che siete tempio di Dio, e che lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi? | 16 Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? |
| 17 Se alcuno violerà il tempio di Dio, Iddio lo sperderà. Imperocché santo è il tempio di Dio, che siete voi. | 17 If any one destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and that temple you are. |
| 18 Niuno inganni se stesso: se alcuno tra di voi si tien per sapiente secondo questo secolo, diventi stolto, affine di essere sapiente. | 18 Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. |
| 19 Imperocché la sapienza di questo mondo e stoltezza dinanzi a Dio. Imperocché sta scritto: io impiglierò i sapienti nella loro astuzia. | 19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their craftiness," |
| 20 E di nuovo: il Signore conosce, come sono vani i pensamenti de' sapienti. | 20 and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile." |
| 21 Niuno adunque si glorii sopra di uomini. | 21 So let no one boast of men. For all things are yours, |
| 22 Imperocché tutte le cose sono vostre, o sia Paolo, o sia Apollo, o sia Cefa, o il mondo, o la vita, o la morte, o le cose presenti, o le future: imperocché tutto è vostro: | 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future, all are yours; |
| 23 Voi poi di Cristo: e Cristo di Dio. | 23 and you are Christs; and Christ is Gods. |
