Ezechiele 35

BIBBIA MARTINI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E IL Signore parlommi, dicendo:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, volgi la tua faccia verso il monte di Seir, e profeterai intorno ad esso, e gli dirai:	2 'Son of man, turn towards Mount Seir and prophesy against it.
3 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o monte di Seir, ed io stenderò la mia mano sopra di te, e ti renderò desolato, e deserto.	3 Say to it, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you, Mount Seir; I shall stretch out my handagainst you; I shal make you a desolate waste;
4 Io demolirò le tue città, e tu sarai disabitato, e conoscerai, ch'io sono il Signore.	4 I shal lay your towns in ruins. You wil become a waste and you wil know that I am Yahweh.
5 Perchè tu se' stato nemico eterno, e colla spada alla mano chiudesti a' figliuoli di Israele lo scampo nel tempo della loro afflizione, e nel tempo di estrema calamità;	5 Since, fol owing a long-standing hatred, you betrayed the Israelites to the sword on the day of theirdistress, on the day when an end came for their guilt,
6 Per questo io giuro (dice il Signore Dio), che io ti abbandonerò al sangue, e il sangue ti perseguiterà, e, avendo tu odiato il sangue, il sangue ti perseguiterà,	6 very wel , as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I destine you to bloodshed, and bloodshed wilpursue you. I swear it; you have incurred guilt by shedding blood, and bloodshed will pursue you.
7 E renderò desolato, e deserto il monte di Seir, e farò, che non vi sia più chi vada, e chi venga.	7 I shal make Mount Seir a desolate waste and denude it of anyone travel ing to and fro.
8 E i monti di lei empierò de' suoi uccisi: su' tuoi colli, e pelle tue valli, e pe' torrenti caderanno uccisi di spada.	8 I shal fil its mountains with its slaughtered; on your hills, in your val eys and in all your ravines, thoseslaughtered by the sword will fal .
9 Ti ridurrò in solitudini eterne, e le tue città non saranno abitate; e conoscerete, ch'io sono il Signore Dio:	9 I shal make you a perpetual waste, your towns wil never be inhabited again, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.
10 Perchè tu dicesti: Due genti, e due regioni saranno mie, ed io le possederò in retaggio, quando ivi si stava il Signore;	10 "Since you said: The two nations and the two countries wil be mine; we are going to take possessionof it, although Yahweh was there,
11 Per questo io giuro, dice il Signore Dio, io ti tratterò come merita la tua ira, e la tua invidia, e l'odio contro di essi; ed io sarò conosciuto per mezzo di essi, quando avrò fatto giudizio di te.	11 very well, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I shal act with the same anger and jealousy as youacted in your hatred for them. I shall make myself known for their sake, when I punish you,
12 E conoscerai, che io il Signore ho uditi tutti gli obbrobri, che tu hai detti contro i monti d'Israele, dicendo: Sono in abbandono, sono dati a noi, perchè li divoriamo.	12 and you wil know that I, Yahweh, have heard al the blasphemies which you have uttered against themountains of Israel, such as: They have been laid waste, they have been given to us for us to devour.
13 E vi siete alzati contro di me colla vostra lingua, e gettaste contro di me le vostre parole: io le udii.	13 Great was your insolence towards me, many your speeches against me; I have heard!
14 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Con giubilo di tutta la terra io ti ridurrò in solitudine.	14 Lord Yahweh says this: To the joy of the whole world, I shal make you a waste.
15 Siccome tu facesti festa sopra l'eredità della casa d'Israele, perchè era dissipata, cosi io farò a te: tu, o monte di Seir, sarai devastato, e tu, Idumea, tutta quanta: e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore.	15 Since you rejoiced because the heritage of the House of Israel had been laid waste, I shal do thesame to you, Mount Seir; and you wil become a waste, and so wil the whole of Edom; and they will know that Iam Yahweh.' "
