| 1 Il Signore parlommi, dicendo: | 1 The word of the LORD came to me: |
| 2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, volgi la tua faccia contro i figliuoli di Ammon, e profeterai sopra di essi. | 2 "Son of man, set your face toward the Ammonites, and prophesy against them. |
| 3 E dirai a' figliuoli di Ammon: Udite la parola del Signore Dio: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Perchè riguardo al mio santuario, che è stato profanato, e riguardo alla terra d'Israele, che è rimasa deserta, e riguardo alla casa di Giuda, menata in ischiavitù, tu hai detto: Bene sta, bene sta; | 3 Say to the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus says the Lord GOD, Because you said, 'Aha!' over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and over the house of Judah when it went into exile; |
| 4 Per questo darò io te in potere de' figliuoli d'Oriente, ed eglino collocheranno in te i loro ovili, e alzeranno le loro tende: ei mangeranno le tue biade, e beranno il tuo latte. | 4 therefore I am handing you over to the people of the East for a possession, and they shall set their encampments among you and make their dwellings in your midst; they shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk. |
| 5 E farò sì, che Rabbath diventi abitazione di cammelli, e la regione de' figliuoli di Ammon stalla di bestie: e conoscerete, ch'io sono il Signore. | 5 I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels and the cities of the Ammonites a fold for flocks. Then you will know that I am the LORD. |
| 6 Perocché queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Perche tu hai battuto palma a palma, e hai tripudiato, e di tutto cuore ti se' rallegrato dello stato d'Israele, | 6 For thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet and rejoiced with all the malice within you against the land of Israel, |
| 7 Per questo, ecco, che io stenderò la mano mia sopra di te, e ti darò in preda alle genti, e ti torrò dal numero dei popoli, e ti sterminerò dalla faccia della terra, e ti stritolerò; e conoscerai, che son' io il Signore. | 7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand against you, and will hand you over as spoil to the nations; and I will cut you off from the peoples and will make you perish out of the countries; I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am the LORD. |
| 8 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Perchè Moab, e Seir han detto: Ecco, che la casa di Giuda ella è come tutte le altre genti: | 8 "Thus says the Lord GOD: Because Moab said, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the other nations, |
| 9 Per questo, ecco, che io nuderò il fianco di Moab dalla parte delle città, delle città io dico, che sono su' suoi confini le più celebri del paese Bethiesimoth, e Beelmeon e Canathaim, | 9 therefore I will lay open the flank of Moab from the cities on its frontier, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim. |
| 10 A' figliuoli dell'Oriente (aprirò il fianco di Moab) come de' figliuoli di Ammon, e a quelli darò il dominio di Moab, talmente che non rimarrà tralle nazioni memoria de' figliuoli di Ammon. | 10 I will give it along with the Ammonites to the people of the East as a possession, that it may be remembered no more among the nations, |
| 11 E farò vendetta di Moab; e conosceranno, che son' io il Signore. | 11 and I will execute judgments upon Moab. Then they will know that I am the LORD. |
| 12 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Perchè l'Idumea ha voluto vendicarsi de' figliuoli di Giuda, e senza ritegno ha peccato per desio di vendetta, | 12 "Thus says the Lord GOD: Because Edom acted revengefully against the house of Judah and has grievously offended in taking vengeance upon them, |
| 13 Per questo così dice il Signore Dio: Io stenderò la mia mano sopra dell'Idumea, e ne sterminerò gli uomini, e i giumenti, e la renderò deserta dalla parte di mezzodì; e que', che si trovano in Dedan, periranno di spada. | 13 therefore thus says the Lord GOD, I will stretch out my hand against Edom, and cut off from it man and beast; and I will make it desolate; from Teman even to Dedan they shall fall by the sword. |
| 14 E farò mie vendette dell'Idumea per le mani del mio popolo d'Israele, ed ei tratteranno Edom secondo l'ira mia, ed il mio furore: e conosceranno che son' io, che fo mia vendetta, dice il Signore Dio. | 14 And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath; and they shall know my vengeance, says the Lord GOD. |
| 15 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Perchè i Filistei han fatta vendetta, e con tutto l'animo si son vendicati, facendo stragi, e sfogando gli antichi sdegni; | 15 "Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the Philistines acted revengefully and took vengeance with malice of heart to destroy in never-ending enmity; |
| 16 Per questo il Signore Dio parla così: Ecco, che io stenderò la mia mano contro de' Filistei, e ucciderò gli uccisori, e sterminerò gli avanzi del paese marittimo: | 16 therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I will stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the rest of the seacoast. |
| 17 E vendetta grande prenderò sopra di loro, gastigandoli nel mio furore; e conosceranno, che son' io il Signore, quando mi sarò vendicato di essi. | 17 I will execute great vengeance upon them with wrathful chastisements. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I lay my vengeance upon them." |
