DOUAI-RHEIMSLXX
A psalm for David, for a remembrance of the sabbath.1 εις το τελος τω ιδιθουν ωδη τω δαυιδ
Rebuke me not, O Lord, in thy indignation; nor chastise me in thy wrath.2 ειπα φυλαξω τας οδους μου του μη αμαρτανειν εν γλωσση μου εθεμην τω στοματι μου φυλακην εν τω συστηναι τον αμαρτωλον εναντιον μου
For thy arrows are fastened in me : and thy hand hath been strong upon me.3 εκωφωθην και εταπεινωθην και εσιγησα εξ αγαθων και το αλγημα μου ανεκαινισθη
There is no health in my flesh, because of thy wrath : there is no peace for my bones, because of my sins.4 εθερμανθη η καρδια μου εντος μου και εν τη μελετη μου εκκαυθησεται πυρ ελαλησα εν γλωσση μου
For my iniquities are gone over my head : and as a heavy burden are become heavy upon me.5 γνωρισον μοι κυριε το περας μου και τον αριθμον των ημερων μου τις εστιν ινα γνω τι υστερω εγω
My sores are putrified and corrupted, because of my foolishness.6 ιδου παλαιστας εθου τας ημερας μου και η υποστασις μου ωσει ουθεν ενωπιον σου πλην τα συμπαντα ματαιοτης πας ανθρωπος ζων διαψαλμα
I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end : I walked sorrowful all the day long.7 μεντοιγε εν εικονι διαπορευεται ανθρωπος πλην ματην ταρασσονται θησαυριζει και ου γινωσκει τινι συναξει αυτα
For my loins are filled with illusions; and there is no health in my flesh.8 και νυν τις η υπομονη μου ουχι ο κυριος και η υποστασις μου παρα σου εστιν
I am afflicted and humbled exceedingly : I roared with the groaning of my heart.9 απο πασων των ανομιων μου ρυσαι με ονειδος αφρονι εδωκας με
Lord, all my desire is before thee, and my groaning is not hidden from thee.10 εκωφωθην και ουκ ηνοιξα το στομα μου οτι συ ει ο ποιησας με
My heart is troubled, my strength hath left me, and the light of my eyes itself is not with me.11 αποστησον απ' εμου τας μαστιγας σου απο της ισχυος της χειρος σου εγω εξελιπον
My friends and my neighbours have drawn near, and stood against me. And they that were near me stood afar off :12 εν ελεγμοις υπερ ανομιας επαιδευσας ανθρωπον και εξετηξας ως αραχνην την ψυχην αυτου πλην ματην ταρασσεται πας ανθρωπος διαψαλμα
And they that sought my soul used violence. And they that sought evils to me spoke vain things, and studied deceits all the day long.13 εισακουσον της προσευχης μου κυριε και της δεησεως μου ενωτισαι των δακρυων μου μη παρασιωπησης οτι παροικος εγω ειμι παρα σοι και παρεπιδημος καθως παντες οι πατερες μου
But I, as a deaf man, heard not : and as a dumb man not opening his mouth.14 ανες μοι ινα αναψυξω προ του με απελθειν και ουκετι μη υπαρξω
And I became as a man that heareth not : and that hath no reproofs in his mouth.
For in thee, O Lord, have I hoped : thou wilt hear me, O Lord my God.
For I said: Lest at any time my enemies rejoice over me : and whilst my feet are moved, they speak great things against me.
For I am ready for scourges : and my sorrow is continually before me.
For I will declare my inequity : and I will think for my sin.
But my enemies live, and are stronger that I : and they hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
They that render evil for good, have detracted me, because I followed goodness.
Forsake me not, O Lord my God : do not thou depart from me.
Attend unto my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.
