1 Cantico di Maalot, di Davide. DICA pure ora Israele: Se non che il Signore fu per noi;	1 To thee have I lifted up my eyes, who dwellest in heaven.
2 Se non che il Signore fu per noi, Quando gli uomini si levarono contro a noi;	2 Behold as the eyes of the servants are on the hands of their masters, As the eyes of the handmaid are on the hands of her mistress: so are our eyes unto the Lord our God, until he have mercy on us.
3 Essi ci avrebbero tranghiottiti tutti vivi, Allora che l’ira loro ardeva contro a noi;	3 Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: for we are greatly filled with contempt.
4 Allora le acque ci avrebbero inondati; Il torrente sarebbe passato sopra l’anima nostra;	4 For our soul is greatly filled: we are a reproach to the rich, and contempt to the proud.
5 Allora le acque gonfiate Sarebbero passate sopra l’anima nostra
6 Benedetto sia il Signore, Che non ci ha dati in preda a’ lor denti.
7 L’anima nostra è scampata dal laccio degli uccellatori, come un uccelletto; Il laccio è stato rotto, e noi siamo scampati.
8 Il nostro aiuto è nel Nome del Signore, Che ha fatto il cielo e la terra
