2 Corintios 4

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Por eso, investidos misericordiosamente del ministerio apostólico, no nos desanimamos	1 Such by God's mercy is our ministry, and therefore we do not waver
2 y nunca hemos callado nada por vergüenza, ni hemos procedido con astucia o falsificando la Palabra de Dios. Por el contrario, manifestando abiertamente la verdad, nos recomendamos a nosotros mismos, delante de Dios, frente a toda conciencia humana.	2 but have renounced al shameful secrecy. It is not our way to be devious, or to falsify the word of God;instead, in God's sight we commend ourselves to every human being with a conscience by showing the truthopenly.
3 Si nuestro Evangelio todavía resulta impenetrable, lo es sólo para aquellos que se pierden,	3 If our gospel seems to be veiled at al , it is so to those who are on the way to destruction,
4 para los incrédulos, a quienes el dios de este mundo les ha enceguecido el entendimiento, a fin de que no vean resplandecer el Evangelio de la gloria de Cristo, que es la imagen de Dios.	4 the unbelievers whose minds have been blinded by the god of this world, so that they cannot seeshining the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
5 Porque no nos predicamos a nosotros mismos, sino a Cristo Jesús, el Señor, y nosotros no somos más que servidores de ustedes por amor de Jesús.	5 It is not ourselves that we are proclaiming, but Christ Jesus as the Lord, and ourselves as your servantsfor Jesus' sake.
6 Porque el mismo Dios que dijo: «Brille la luz en medio de las tinieblas», es el que hizo brillar su luz en nuestros corazones para que resplandezca el conocimiento de la gloria de Dios, reflejada en el rostro de Cristo.	6 It is God who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' that has shone into our hearts to enlighten themwith the knowledge of God's glory, the glory on the face of Christ.
7 Pero nosotros llevamos ese tesoro en recipientes de barro, para que se vea bien que este poder extraordinario no procede de nosotros, sino de Dios.	7 But we hold this treasure in pots of earthenware, so that the immensity of the power is God's and notour own.
8 Estamos atribulados por todas partes, pero no abatidos; perplejos, pero no desesperados;	8 We are subjected to every kind of hardship, but never distressed; we see no way out but we neverdespair;
9 perseguidos, pero no abandonados; derribados, pero no aniquilados.	9 we are pursued but never cut off; knocked down, but stil have some life in us;
10 Siempre y a todas partes, llevamos en nuestro cuerpo los sufrimientos de la muerte de Jesús, para que también la vida de Jesús se manifieste en nuestro cuerpo.	10 always we carry with us in our body the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus, too, may be visible inour body.
11 Y así aunque vivimos, estamos siempre enfrentando a la muerte por causa de Jesús, para que también la vida de Jesús se manifieste en nuestra carne mortal.	11 Indeed, while we are stil alive, we are continually being handed over to death, for the sake of Jesus,so that the life of Jesus, too, may be visible in our mortal flesh.
12 De esa manera, la muerte hace su obra en nosotros, y en ustedes, la vida.	12 In us, then, death is at work; in you, life.
13 Pero teniendo ese mismo espíritu de fe, del que dice la Escritura: Creí, y por eso hablé, también nosotros creemos, y por lo tanto, hablamos.	13 But as we have the same spirit of faith as is described in scripture -- I believed and therefore I spoke-we, too, believe and therefore we, too, speak,
14 Y nosotros sabemos que aquel que resucitó al Señor Jesús nos resucitará con él y nos reunirá a su lado junto con ustedes.	14 realising that he who raised up the Lord Jesus wil raise us up with Jesus in our turn, and bring us tohimself -- and you as wel .
15 Todo esto es por ustedes: para que al abundar la gracia, abunde también el número de los que participan en la acción de gracias para gloria de Dios.	15 You see, everything is for your benefit, so that as grace spreads, so, to the glory of God, thanksgivingmay also overflow among more and more people.
16 Por eso, no nos desanimamos: aunque nuestro hombre exterior se vaya destruyendo, nuestro hombre interior se va renovando día a día.	16 That is why we do not waver; indeed, though this outer human nature of ours may be fal ing intodecay, at the same time our inner human nature is renewed day by day.
17 Nuestra angustia, que es leve y pasajera, nos prepara una gloria eterna, que supera toda medida.	17 The temporary, light burden of our hardships is earning us for ever an utterly incomparable, eternalweight of glory,
18 Porque no tenemos puesta la mirada en las cosas visibles, sino en las invisibles: lo que se ve es transitorio, lo que no se ve es eterno.	18 since what we aim for is not visible but invisible. Visible things are transitory, but invisible thingseternal.
