1 ¡Escuchen, reyes, y comprendan! ¡Aprendan, jueces de los confines de la tierra!	1 Hear, therefore, kings, and understand; learn, you magistrates of the earth's expanse!
2 ¡Presten atención, los que dominan multitudes y están orgullosos de esa muchedumbre de naciones!	2 Hearken, you who are in power over the multitude and lord it over throngs of peoples!
3 Porque el Señor les ha dado el dominio, y el poder lo han recibo del Altísimo: él examinará las obras de ustedes y juzgará sus designios,	3 Because authority was given you by the LORD and sovereignty by the Most High, who shall probe your works and scrutinize your counsels!
4 Ya que ustedes, siendo ministros de su reino, no han gobernado con rectitud ni han respetado la Ley ni han obrado según la voluntad de Dios	4 Because, though you were ministers of his kingdom, you judged not rightly, and did not keep the law, nor walk according to the will of God,
5 él caerá sobre ustedes en forma terrible y repentina, ya que un juicio inexorable espera a los que están arriba.	5 Terribly and swiftly shall he come against you, because judgment is stern for the exalted-
6 Al pequeño, por piedad, se le perdona, pero los poderosos serán examinados con rigor.	6 For the lowly may be pardoned out of mercy but the mighty shall be mightily put to the test.
7 Porque el Señor de todos no retrocede ante nadie, ni lo intimida la grandeza: él hizo al pequeño y al grande, y cuida de todos por igual,	7 For the Lord of all shows no partiality, nor does he fear greatness, Because he himself made the great as well as the small, and he provides for all alike;
8 Pero los poderosos serán severamente examinados.	8 but for those in power a rigorous scrutiny impends.
9 A ustedes, soberanos, se dirigen mis palabras, para que aprendan la Sabiduría y no incurran en falta;	9 To you, therefore, O princes, are my words addressed that you may learn wisdom and that you may not sin.
10 porque los que observen santamente las leyes santas serán reconocidos como santos, y los que se dejen instruir por ellas, también en ellas encontrarán su defensa.	10 For those who keep the holy precepts hallowed shall be found holy, and those learned in them will have ready a response.
11 Deseen, entonces, mis palabras; búsquenlas ardientemente, y serán instruidos. Encuentro con la Sabiduría	11 Desire therefore my words; long for them and you shall be instructed.
12 La Sabiduría es luminosa y nunca pierde su brillo: se deja contemplar fácilmente por los que la aman y encontrar por los que la buscan.	12 Resplendent and unfading is Wisdom, and she is readily perceived by those who love her, and found by those who seek her.
13 Ella se anticipa a darse a conocer a los que la desean.	13 She hastens to make herself known in anticipation of men's desire;
14 El que madruga para buscarla no se fatigará, porque la encontrará sentada a su puerta.	14 he who watches for her at dawn shall not be disappointed, for he shall find her sitting by his gate.
15 Meditar en ella es la perfección de la prudencia, y el que se desvela por su causa pronto quedará libre de inquietudes.	15 For taking thought of her is the perfection of prudence, and he who for her sake keeps vigil shall quickly be free from care;
16 La Sabiduría busca por todas partes a los que son dignos de ella, se les aparece con benevolencia en los caminos y les sale al encuentro en todos sus pensamientos.	16 Because she makes her own rounds, seeking those worthy of her, and graciously appears to them in the ways, and meets them with all solicitude.
17 El comienzo de la Sabiduría es el verdadero deseo de instruirse, querer instruirse, es amarla;	17 For the first step toward discipline is a very earnest desire for her; then, care for discipline is love of her;
18 amarla, es cumplir sus leyes, observar sus leyes, es garantía de incorruptibilidad,	18 love means the keeping of her laws; To observe her laws is the basis for incorruptibility;
19 y la incorruptibilidad hace estar cerca de Dios:	19 and incorruptibility makes one close to God;
20 así, el deseo de la Sabiduría conduce a la realeza.	20 thus the desire for Wisdom leads up to a kingdom.
21 Si a ustedes, entonces, soberanos de los pueblos, les agradan los tronos y los cetros, honren a la Sabiduría y reinarán para siempre.	21 If, then, you find pleasure in throne and scepter, you princes of the peoples, honor Wisdom, that you may reign as kings forever.
22 ¿Pero qué es la Sabiduría y cuál es su origen? Yo lo voy a anunciar, sin ocultarles sus misterios: me remontaré hasta sus orígenes más remotos, pondré al descubierto su conocimiento, y no me apartaré de la verdad.	22 Now what wisdom is, and how she came to be I shall relate; and I shall hide no secrets from you, But from the very beginning I shall search out and bring to light knowledge of her, nor shall I diverge from the truth.
23 No me acompañará en el camino la envidia corrosiva, porque ella no tiene nada en común con la Sabiduría.	23 Neither shall I admit consuming jealousy to my company, because that can have no fellowship with Wisdom.
24 Una multitud de sabios es la salvación del mundo, y un rey sensato asegura la estabilidad de su pueblo.	24 A great number of wise men is the safety of the world, and a prudent king, the stability of his people;
25 Por lo tanto, déjense instruir por mis palabras, y esto les resultará provechoso.	25 so take instruction from my words, to your profit.
