Deuteronomio 27

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Moisés y los ancianos de Israel dieron al pueblo esta orden: «Guardad todos los mandamientos que yo os prescribo hoy.	1 Moses and the elders of Israel gave the people this command: 'Keep al the commandments which Iam laying down for you today.
2 Cuando paséis el Jordán para ir a la tierra que Yahveh tu Dios te da, erigirás grandes piedras, las blanquearás con cal,	2 After you have crossed the Jordan into the country which Yahweh your God is giving you, you mustset up tal stones, coat them with lime
3 y escribirás en ellas todas las palabras de esta Ley, en el momento en que pases para entrar en la tierra que Yahveh tu Dios te da, tierra que mana leche y miel, como te ha dicho Yahveh el Dios de tus padres.	3 and on them write all the words of this Law, when you have crossed and entered the country whichYahweh your God is giving you, a country flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, God of your ancestors, haspromised you.
4 Y cuando hayáis pasado el Jordán, erigiréis estas piedras en el monte Ebal, como os lo mando hoy, y las blanquearéis con cal.	4 'When you have crossed the Jordan, you must erect these stones on Mount Ebal, as I command youtoday, and coat them with lime.
5 Levantarás allí en honor de Yahveh tu Dios un altar de piedras, sin labrarlas con el hierro.	5 There, for Yahweh your God, you must build an altar of stones, on which no iron has been used.
6 Con piedras sin labrar harás el altar de Yahveh tu Dios, y sobre este altar ofrecerás holocaustos a Yahveh tu Dios.	6 You must build the altar of Yahweh your God of rough stones, and on this altar you will present burntofferings to Yahweh your God,
7 Allí también inmolarás sacrificios de comunión, los comerás y te regocijarás en presencia de Yahveh tu Dios.	7 and immolate communion sacrifices and eat them there, rejoicing in the presence of Yahweh yourGod.
8 Escribirás en esas piedras todas las palabras de esta Ley. Grábalas bien».	8 On these stones you must write al the words of this Law; cut them careful y.'
9 Después Moisés y los sacerdotes levitas hablaron así a todo Israel: «Calla y escucha, Israel. Hoy te has convertido en el pueblo de Yahveh tu Dios.	9 Moses and the levitical priests then said to al Israel: 'Be silent, Israel, and listen. Today you havebecome a people for Yahweh your God.
10 Escucharás la voz de Yahveh tu Dios y pondrás en práctica los mandamientos y preceptos que yo te prescribo hoy».	10 You must listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and observe the commandments and laws which Iam laying down for you today.'
11 Y Moisés ordenó aquel día al pueblo:	11 That day Moses gave the people this order:
12 Estos son los que se situarán en el monte Garizim para dar la bendición al pueblo, cuando hayáis pasado el Jordán: Simeón, Leví, Judá, Isacar, José y Benjamín;	12 'When you have crossed the Jordan, the fol owing wil stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people:Simeon and Levi, Judah and Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.
13 y estos otros los que se situarán, para la maldición, en el monte Ebal: Rubén, Gad, Aser, Zabulón, Dan y Neftalí.	13 And the fol owing wil stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad and Asher, Zebulun, Dan andNaphtali.
14 Los levitas tomarán la palabra y dirán en voz alta a todos los israelitas:	14 The Levites wil then speak, proclaiming loudly to al the Israelites:
15 Maldito el hombre que haga un ídolo esculpido o fundido, abominación de Yahveh, obra de manos de artífice, y lo coloque en un lugar secreto. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	15 "Accursed be anyone who makes a carved or cast idol, a thing detestable to Yahweh, a workman'sartefact, and sets it up in secret." And the people are al to respond by saying, Amen.
16 Maldito quien desprecie a su padre o a su madre. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	16 "Accursed be anyone who treats father or mother dishonourably." And the people must al say,Amen.
17 Maldito quien desplace el mojón de su prójimo. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	17 "Accursed be anyone who displaces a neighbour's boundary mark." And the people must al say,Amen.
18 Maldito quien desvíe a un ciego en el camino. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	18 "Accursed be anyone who leads the blind astray on the road." And the people must al say, Amen.
19 Maldito quien tuerza el derecho del forastero, el huérfano o la viuda. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	19 "Accursed be anyone who violates the rights of the foreigner, the orphan and the widow." And thepeople must al say, Amen.
20 Maldito quien se acueste con la mujer de su padre, porque descubre el borde del manto de su padre. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	20 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his father's wife and withdraws the skirt of hisfather's cloak from her." And the people must all say, Amen.
21 Maldito quien se acueste con cualquier bestia. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	21 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with any kind of animal." And the people must allsay, Amen.
22 Maldito quien se acueste con su hermana, hija de su padre o hija de su madre. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	22 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his sister, the daughter of his father or of hismother." And the people must al say, Amen.
23 Maldito quien se acueste con su suegra. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	23 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his mother-in-law." And the people must alsay, Amen.
24 Maldito quien mate a traición a su prójimo. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	24 "Accursed be anyone who secretly strikes down his neighbour." And the people must al say, Amen.
25 Maldito quien acepte soborno para quitar la vida a un inocente. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	25 "Accursed be anyone who accepts a bribe to take an innocent life." And the people must al say,Amen.
26 Maldito quien no mantenga las palabras de esta Ley, poniéndolas en práctica. - Y todo el pueblo dirá: Amén.	26 "Accursed be anyone who does not make the words of this Law effective by putting them intopractice." And the people must al say, Amen.'
