1 Josué avait déjà vécu de nombreux jours et il était très âgé lorsque Yahvé lui dit: “Tu es devenu vieux, tu es déjà très âgé et il reste encore un grand pays à conquérir.	1 Joshua was old and advanced in age, and the Lord said to him: “You have grown old, and are aged, and a very wide land remains, which has not yet been divided by lot,
2 Voici ce qui reste: tous les territoires des Philistins, tout le territoire des Guéchourites,	2 specifically, all of Galilee, Philistia, and all of Geshur;
3 depuis le Chihor en face de l’Égypte jusqu’à la frontière d’Ékron au nord, que l’on considère comme le pays des Cananéens. 6 Tous les habitants de la montagne, depuis le Liban jusqu’aux eaux de Misréfot et tous les Sidoniens, je les chasserai devant les Israélites, et tu n’auras qu’à partager le pays en héritage entre les Israélites, comme je te l’ai ordonné.	6 all who live in the mountains from Lebanon, as far as the waters of Misrephoth, and all the Sidonians. I am the One who will wipe them out, before the face of the sons of Israel. Therefore, let their land become a part of the inheritance of Israel, just as I have instructed you.
7 Maintenant donc, partage ce pays pour qu’il devienne l’héritage des neuf tribus et de la demi-tribu de Manassé. Tu le leur donneras depuis le Jourdain jusqu’à la Grande Mer à l’ouest: la Grande Mer sera leur frontière.	7 And now, divide the land as a possession to the nine tribes, and to the one half tribe of Manasseh.”
8 Moïse avait déjà donné leur héritage de l’autre côté du Jourdain à l’est, à l’autre demi-tribu de Manassé, à la tribu de Ruben et à celle de Gad. Voici ce que Moïse serviteur de Yahvé leur avait alors donné comme territoire:	8 With them, Reuben and Gad have possessed the land, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, delivered to them beyond the river Jordan, on the eastern side:
9 depuis Aroër sur le versant de l’Arnon, la ville qui est au fond de la vallée, tout le plateau depuis Medba jusqu’à Dibon;	9 from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon and in the midst of the valley, and all the plains of Medeba, as far as Dibon;
10 toutes les villes de Sihon, roi des Amorites qui régnait à Heshbon jusqu’à la frontière des Ammonites;	10 and all the cities of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, even to the borders of the sons of Ammon;
11 le Galaad et le territoire des Guéchourites et des Maakatites, tout le massif de l’Hermon, tout le Bashan jusqu’à Salka;	11 and Gilead, as well as the borders of Geshur and Maacati, and all of mount Hermon, and all of Bashan, as far as Salecah;
12 et dans le Bashan, tout le royaume d’Og qui régnait à Achtarot et à Édréï et qui fut le dernier survivant des Réphaïm. Moïse avait vaincu et dépouillé ces deux rois.	12 the entire kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned at Ashtaroth and Edrei, (he was among the last of the Rephaim). And Moses struck and destroyed them.
13 Cependant les Israélites ne dépossédèrent ni les Guéchourites ni les Maakatites, c’est pourquoi Guéchour et Maaka existent encore aujourd’hui au milieu d’Israël.	13 And the sons of Israel were not willing to destroy Geshur and Maacati, and so they have lived in the midst of Israel, even to the present day.
14 La seule tribu à qui l’on ne donna pas d’héritage fut la tribu de Lévi, car Yahvé Dieu d’Israël est son héritage comme il le lui a dit.	14 But to the tribe of Levi, he did not give a possession. Instead, the sacrifices and victims of the Lord, the God of Israel, these are his inheritance, just as he spoke to him.
15 Moïse avait fait le partage entre les clans de la tribu de Ruben.	15 Therefore, Moses gave a possession to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, according to their families.
16 Voici le territoire qu’ils reçurent: depuis Aroër sur le versant de l’Arnon, la ville qui est au fond de la vallée, tout le plateau jusqu’à Medba;	16 And their border was from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon, and in the midst of the valley of the same torrent, with all the flatlands that lead to Medeba;
17 Heshbon avec toutes les villes qui sont sur le plateau: Dibon, Bamot-Baal, Beth-Baal-Méon,	17 and Heshbon, and all their villages, which are in the plains; also Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and the town of Baalmeon,
18 Yahas, Kédémot, Méfaat,	18 and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,
19 Kiryatayim, Sibma et Séret-Ha-Chahar dans la montagne de la Araba;	19 and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the mountain of the steep valley;
20 Beth-Péor, les versants arrosés du Pisga, Beth-Ha-Yéchimot,	20 Bethpeor, and the descending slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;
21 toutes les villes du plateau et tout le royaume de Sihon, roi des Amorites, (il avait été battu par Moïse avec les princes de Madian: Évi, Rékem, Sour, Hour et Réba qui étaient soumis à Sihon et qui habitaient le pays.	21 and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdoms of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, whom Moses struck down with the leaders of Midian: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the commanders of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.
22 Le devin Balaam, fils de Péor, faisait partie de ceux qui avaient été passés au fil de l’épée.)	22 And the sons of Israel killed Balaam, the son of Beor, the seer, with the sword, along with the others who were slain.
23 La frontière de Ruben était donc le Jourdain et tout son territoire. Voilà l’héritage des clans de Ruben, avec leurs villes et leurs villages.	23 And the river Jordan was made the border of the sons of Reuben; this is the possession of the Reubenites, by their families, in cities and villages.
24 Moïse avait fait le partage entre les clans de la tribu de Gad, les fils de Gad.	24 And Moses gave to the tribe of Gad and his sons, by their families, a possession, of which this is the division:
25 Voici le territoire qu’ils reçurent: Yazer, toutes les villes de Galaad, la moitié du pays des Ammonites jusqu’à Aroër qui fait face à Rabba,	25 the border of Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and one half part of the land of the sons of Ammon, as far as Aroer, which is opposite Rabbah;
26 depuis Heshbon jusqu’à Ramat-Ha-Mispé et Bétonim, à partir de Mahanayim jusqu’au territoire de Lo-Débar,	26 and from Heshbon as far as Ramath, Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim as far as the borders of Debir;
27 dans la vallée: Beth-Haram, Beth-Nimra, Soukkoth, Safon, (tout cela formait la seconde moitié du royaume de Sihon, roi de Heshbon.) le Jourdain et le territoire qui s’étend jusqu’à l’extrémité de la mer de Kinnéret sur la rive est du Jourdain.	27 also, in the valley Beth-haram and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the remaining part of the kingdom of Sihon, the king of Heshbon; the limit of this also is the Jordan, as far as the furthest part of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan on the eastern side.
28 Voilà l’héritage des clans de Gad, avec leurs villes et leurs villages.	28 This is the possession of the sons of Gad, by their families, in their cities and villages.
29 Moïse avait fait le partage entre les clans de la demi-tribu de Manassé.	29 He also gave, to the one half tribe of Manasseh and to his sons, a possession according to their families,
30 Voici le territoire qu’ils reçurent: à partir de Mahanayim, tout le Bashan, tout le royaume d’Og roi du Bashan, tous les Douars de Yaïr dans le Bashan; au total 60 villes.	30 the beginning of which is this: from Mahanaim, all of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Og, the king of Bashan, and all the villages of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty towns;
31 Les fils de Makir, fils de Manassé, reçurent la moitié du Galaad avec Achtarot et Édréï, les capitales d’Og de Bashan. Tel fut le territoire des clans de Makir.	31 and one half part of Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, to the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, to one half part of the sons of Machir, according to their families.
32 C’étaient là les terres que Moïse avait données en héritage dans les Steppes de Moab, de l’autre côté du Jourdain, à l’est de Jéricho.	32 Moses divided this possession, in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, opposite Jericho on the eastern side.
33 Mais Moïse n’avait pas donné d’héritage à la tribu de Lévi, car Yahvé le Dieu d’Israël est son héritage, comme il le lui a dit.	33 But to the tribe of Levi he did not give a possession. For the Lord, the God of Israel, is himself their possession, just as he spoke to him.
