1 Mais pour ceux qui sont dans le Christ Jésus, cette condamnation n’existe plus.	1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who are not walking according to the flesh.
2 Dans le Christ Jésus, la loi de l’Esprit qui est vie t’a délivré de la loi du péché et de la mort.	2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death.
3 La Loi n’y pouvait rien car la chair ne suivait pas; alors Dieu a envoyé son propre Fils pour faire face au péché; il l’a rendu semblable à cette chair liée au péché et il a condamné le péché dans la chair.	3 For though this was impossible under the law, because it was weakened by the flesh, God sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and because of sin, in order to condemn sin in the flesh,
4 Grâce à cela les exigences de la Loi sont maintenant réalisées en nous qui vivons selon l’Esprit et non plus selon la chair.	4 so that the justification of the law might be fulfilled in us. For we are not walking according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.
5 Ceux qui vivent selon la chair vont aux choses de la chair, et ceux qui vivent selon l’Esprit vont aux choses de l’Esprit.	5 For those who are in agreement with the flesh are mindful of the things of the flesh. But those who are in agreement with the spirit are mindful of the things of the spirit.
6 Mais il n’y a que mort dans les désirs de la chair; par contre, ce que l’esprit désire est vie et paix.	6 For the prudence of the flesh is death. But the prudence of the spirit is life and peace.
7 Les projets de la chair sont contraires à Dieu, car la chair ne se soumet pas à la loi de Dieu, et elle ne peut pas se soumettre.	7 And the wisdom of the flesh is inimical to God. For it is not subject to the law of God, nor can it be.
8 C’est pourquoi ceux qui en restent à la chair ne peuvent pas plaire à Dieu.	8 So those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.
9 Pour vous, vous n’êtes plus dans la chair, mais dans l’Esprit puisque l’Esprit de Dieu habite en vous. Si quelqu’un n’avait pas l’Esprit du Christ, il ne lui appartiendrait pas.	9 And you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if it is true that the Spirit of God lives within you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.
10 Mais le Christ est en vous, et si le corps est mort à cause du péché, l’esprit, est vie, ayant été redressé.	10 But if Christ is within you, then the body is indeed dead, concerning sin, but the spirit truly lives, because of justification.
11 Et si l’Esprit de Celui qui a ressuscité Jésus d’entre les morts habite en vous, Celui qui a ressuscité Jésus Christ d’entre les morts, rendra aussi la vie à vos corps mortels, grâce à son Esprit qui habite en vous.	11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead lives within you, then he who raised up Jesus Christ from the dead shall also enliven your mortal bodies, by means of his Spirit living within you.
12 Donc frères, rompez avec la chair, vous ne devez plus vivre selon la chair.	12 Therefore, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, so as to live according to the flesh.
13 Car si vous vivez selon la chair, il vous faudra mourir, mais si avec l’Esprit vous faites mourir les œuvres du corps, vous vivrez.	13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if, by the Spirit, you mortify the deeds of the flesh, you shall live.
14 Vous le savez, tous ceux qui sont conduits par l’Esprit de Dieu sont fils et filles de Dieu.	14 For all those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.
15 Alors, finie la crainte: vous n’avez pas reçu un esprit d’esclaves mais un esprit de fils; c’est lui qui nous pousse à appeler: “Papa! Père!”	15 And you have not received, again, a spirit of servitude in fear, but you have received the Spirit of the adoption of sons, in whom we cry out: “Abba, Father!”
16 L’Esprit assiste notre esprit et lui redit que nous sommes enfants de Dieu.	16 For the Spirit himself renders testimony to our spirit that we are the sons of God.
17 Étant fils, vous êtes héritiers, héritiers de Dieu, ses héritiers avec le Christ. Et quand nous aurons souffert avec lui, nous serons avec lui dans la Gloire.	17 But if we are sons, then we are also heirs: certainly heirs of God, but also co-heirs with Christ, yet in such a way that, if we suffer with him, we shall also be glorified with him.
18 Je pense que ce que nous souffrons pour un temps limité n’a pas de comparaison avec la Gloire qui nous attend et qui doit se manifester.	18 For I consider that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with that future glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 Le monde créé attend que les fils et filles de Dieu viennent au grand jour: c’est cela qui ne le laisse pas en repos.	19 For the anticipation of the creature anticipates the revelation of the sons of God.
20 Car si la création actuellement n’a pas d’avenir, cela ne vient pas d’elle mais de celui qui lui a imposé ce destin. Il lui reste cependant une espérance:	20 For the creature was made subject to emptiness, not willingly, but for the sake of the One who made it subject, unto hope.
21 la création aussi cessera de travailler pour ce qui se défait, et recevra sa part de la liberté et de la gloire des enfants de Dieu.	21 For the creature itself shall also be delivered from the servitude of corruption, into the liberty of the glory of the sons of God.
22 Nous voyons bien que toute la création gémit et souffre comme pour un enfantement.	22 For we know that every creature groans inwardly, as if giving birth, even until now;
23 Nous-mêmes, qui avons reçu l’Esprit comme une première avance, nous gémissons en nous-mêmes, dans l’attente de nos droits de fils et de la rédemption de notre corps.	23 and not only these, but also ourselves, since we hold the first-fruits of the Spirit. For we also groan within ourselves, anticipating our adoption as the sons of God, and the redemption of our body.
24 Déjà nous sommes sauvés, mais tout reste une espérance, et dès qu’on voit ce qu’on espère, ce n’est plus l’espérance. Comment espérer ce que déjà on voit?	24 For we have been saved by hope. But a hope which is seen is not hope. For when a man sees something, why would he hope?
25 Espérons donc sans voir, et nous l’aurons si nous persévérons.	25 But since we hope for what we do not see, we wait with patience.
26 Nous sommes faibles, mais l’Esprit vient à notre secours. Comment et pour quoi devons-nous prier? Nous ne le savons pas, mais l’Esprit le demande pour nous sans paroles, comme dans un gémissement.	26 And similarly, the Spirit also helps our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself asks on our behalf with ineffable sighing.
27 Et Celui qui scrute les cœurs comprend les ambitions de l’Esprit, car ce à quoi aspire l’Esprit pour les saints est à la mesure de Dieu.	27 And he who examines hearts knows what the Spirit seeks, because he asks on behalf of the saints in accordance with God.
28 Nous savons que pour ceux qui aiment Dieu, ceux qu’il a choisis et appelés, Dieu se sert de tout pour leur bien.	28 And we know that, for those who love God, all things work together unto good, for those who, in accordance with his purpose, are called to be saints.
29 Ceux qu’il a connus d’avance, il les a destinés à être comme son Fils, comme à son image, pour qu’il soit le premier-né au milieu de nombreux frères.	29 For those whom he foreknew, he also predestinated, in conformity with the image of his Son, so that he might be the Firstborn among many brothers.
30 Ceux qu’il a ainsi destinés, il les a appelés; ceux qu’il a appelés, il les a faits justes et droits; ceux qu’il a faits justes et droits, il leur a donné la Gloire.	30 And those whom he predestinated, he also called. And those whom he called, he also justified. And those whom he justified, he also glorified.
31 Que dire de plus? Si Dieu est pour nous, qui sera contre nous?	31 So, what should we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
32 Il n’a même pas épargné son propre Fils, mais il l’a livré pour nous tous. Comment donc ne nous donnera-t-il pas tout le reste avec lui?	32 He who did not spare even his own Son, but handed him over for the sake of us all, how could he not also, with him, have given us all things?
33 Qui accusera ceux que Dieu appelle? C’est Dieu leur juge.	33 Who will make an accusation against the elect of God? God is the One who justifies;
34 Qui les condamnera? Le Christ qui est mort et, plus encore, ressuscité, qui est à la droite de Dieu et qui intercède en notre faveur?	34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus who has died, and who has indeed also risen again, is at the right hand of God, and even now he intercedes for us.
35 Qui nous enlèvera cet amour du Christ: une catastrophe, une épreuve, une persécution, la faim, le manque de tout, le danger, le glaive?	35 Then who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation? Or anguish? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or peril? Or persecution? Or the sword?
36 Il est bien écrit: À cause de toi nous sommes massacrés tout au long du jour, nous sommes traités comme des brebis à l’abattoir.	36 For it is as it has been written: “For your sake, we are being put to death all day long. We are being treated like sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Mais au milieu de tout, nous restons les vainqueurs grâce à celui qui nous aime.	37 But in all these things we overcome, because of him who has loved us.
38 Je sais que ni la mort, ni la vie, ni les anges, ni les forces du monde, ni le présent, ni le futur,	38 For I am certain that neither death, nor life, nor Angels, nor Principalities, nor Powers, nor the present things, nor the future things, nor strength,
39 ni les puissances du ciel ou de l’enfer ou quelque autre créature ne peut nous priver de cet amour de Dieu dans le Christ Jésus notre Seigneur.	39 nor the heights, nor the depths, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
