2 Ô Yahvé, notre Seigneur, l’éclat de ton nom est partout sur la terre, ta grandeur dépasse la hauteur des cieux.	2 even through the mouths of children, or of babes in arms, you make him a fortress, firm against yourfoes, to subdue the enemy and the rebel.
3 Même la bouche des enfants et des nourrissons rappelle ta puissance face à l’adversaire et remplit de honte l’ennemi et le rebelle.	3 I look up at your heavens, shaped by your fingers, at the moon and the stars you set firm-
4 Quand je vois ton ciel, œuvre de tes doigts, la lune et les étoiles que tu y as fixées,	4 what are human beings that you spare a thought for them, or the child of Adam that you care for him?
5 qu’est-ce que le mortel? Et toi tu t’en souviens. Qu’est-ce que le fils d’homme? Et tu veilles sur lui.	5 Yet you have made him little less than a god, you have crowned him with glory and beauty,
6 Tu en as fait un peu moins qu’un Dieu, tu l’as couronné de gloire et d’éclat,	6 made him lord of the works of your hands, put al things under his feet,
7 tu lui as soumis l’œuvre de tes mains, tu as tout rangé sous ses pieds,	7 sheep and cattle, all of them, and even the wild beasts,
8 que ce soient les brebis ou les bœufs, ou même les bêtes sauvages	8 birds in the sky, fish in the sea, when he makes his way across the ocean.
9 et l’oiseau du ciel et les poissons des mers, pèlerins des routes sous-marines.	9 Yahweh our Lord, how majestic your name throughout the world!
10 Ô Yahvé, notre Dieu, qu’il est grand, ton nom, partout sur la terre.
