1 »U to vrijeme Jahve mi reče: ‘Iskleši dvije kamene ploče kao i prijašnje pa se popni k meni na brdo; a napravi i drveni kovčeg.	1 'Yahweh then said to me, "Cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and come up to me on themountain. Make an ark of wood;
2 Na ploče ću napisati riječi koje su bile na prvim pločama što si ih razbio. A onda ih položi u kovčeg.’	2 on the tablets I shal inscribe the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke; put them in theark."
3 Načinih kovčeg od bagremovine, isklesah dvije kamene ploče kao što bijahu prve, pa se, s dvjema pločama u ruci, popeh na brdo.	3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, cut two stone tablets like the first and went up the mountain with thetwo tablets in my hand.
4 I napisa na te ploče, kao i prije, Deset riječi koje vam je Jahve rekao na brdu, iz ognja, na dan zbora. Onda ih Jahve dade meni.	4 And he inscribed the tablets, as he had inscribed them before, with the Ten Words which Yahweh hadsaid to you on the mountain, from the heart of the fire, on the day of the Assembly. Yahweh then gave them tome.
5 Okrenuh se i siđoh s brda. Položih ploče u kovčeg koji bijah napravio. I stadoše ondje, kako mi je Jahve naredio.	5 I turned and came down from the mountain and put the tablets in the ark I had made, and there theystayed, as Yahweh had commanded me.
6 Od Beerota sinova Jaakanovih odoše Izraelci u Moseru. Ondje umrije Aron i ondje bî pokopan. Svećenikom mjesto njega postade njegov sin Eleazar.	6 'The Israelites left the wel s of the Bene-Jaakan for Moserah, where Aaron died; he was buried there,and his son Eleazar succeeded him in the priesthood.
7 Odande odoše u Gudgodu; iz Gudgode u Jotbatu, u kraj bogat potocima.	7 From there, they set out for Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah for Jotbathah, an area rich in streams.
8 U to vrijeme odvoji Jahve pleme Levijevo da nosi Kovčeg saveza Jahvina; da pred Jahvom stoji u njegovoj službi te da u njegovo ime blagoslivlja, kako radi i danas.	8 Yahweh then set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of Yahweh's covenant, to stand in thepresence of Yahweh, to serve him and to bless in his name, as they stil do today.
9 Stoga Levi nema udjela ni baštine sa svojom braćom: Jahve je njegova baština, kako mu je Jahve, Bog tvoj, i rekao.	9 This is why Levi has no share or heritage with his brothers: Yahweh is his heritage, as Yahweh yourGod then told him.
10 Na brdu sam ostao, kao i prvi put, četrdeset dana i četrdeset noći. I usliša me Jahve i taj put; nije htio da te uništi,	10 'And, as before, I stayed on the mountain for forty days and forty nights. And again Yahweh heardmy prayer and agreed not to destroy you.
11 nego mi Jahve reče: ‘Ustaj! Idi pred ovim narodom da uđu i zaposjednu zemlju za koju sam se zakleo njihovim ocima da ću im je dati.’«	11 And Yahweh said to me, "Be on your way at the head of this people, so that they can go and takepossession of the country which I swore to their ancestors that I would give them."
12 »Dakle, Izraele, što od tebe traži Jahve, Bog tvoj? Samo to da se bojiš Jahve, Boga svoga; da po svim putovima njegovim hodiš; da ga ljubiš i služiš Jahvi, Bogu svome, svim srcem svojim i svom dušom svojom;	12 'And now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God ask of you? Only this: to fear Yahweh your God, tofol ow all his ways, to love him, to serve Yahweh your God with al your heart and al your soul,
13 da držiš Jahvine zapovijedi i njegove zakone što ti ih danas za tvoje dobro dajem.	13 to keep the commandments and laws of Yahweh, which I am laying down for you today for your owngood.
14 Evo, Jahvi, Bogu tvome, pripada nebo i nebo nad nebesima, zemlja i sve što je na njoj.	14 'Look, to Yahweh your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth and everything onit;
15 Ali Jahvi samo vaši oci omilješe i poslije njih izabrao je vas, potomke njihove, između svih naroda, kako je i danas.	15 yet it was on your ancestors, for love of them, that Yahweh set his heart to love them, and he chosetheir descendants after them, you yourselves, out of all nations, up to the present day.
16 Srce svoje obrežite; šiju više ne ukrućujte!	16 Circumcise your heart then and be obstinate no longer;
17 Jer Jahve, Bog vaš, Bog je nad bogovima, Gospodar nad gospodarima, Bog velik, jak i strašan, koji nije pristran i ne dâ se podmititi;	17 for Yahweh your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, triumphant and terrible, free of favouritism, never to be bribed.
18 daje pravdu siroti i udovici; ljubi pridošlicu, daje mu hranu i odjeću.	18 He it is who sees justice done for the orphan and the widow, who loves the stranger and gives himfood and clothing.
19 Ljubite i vi pridošlicu, jer ste i sami bili pridošlice u zemlji egipatskoj.	19 (Love the stranger then, for you were once strangers in Egypt.)
20 Boj se Jahve, Boga svojeg; njemu služi; uza nj se priljubi; njegovim imenom priseži.	20 Yahweh your God is the one whom you must fear and serve; to him you must hold firm; in his nametake your oaths.
21 On je tvoja slava, Bog tvoj, koji je radi tebe učinio velika i čudesna djela što su ih vidjele tvoje oči.	21 Him you must praise, he is your God: for you he has done these great and terrible things which youhave seen for yourselves;
22 Tvojih otaca, kad su se spustili u Egipat, bješe samo sedamdeset, a sad je Jahve, Bog tvoj, učinio te vas ima kao zvijezda na nebu.«	22 and, although your ancestors numbered only seventy persons when they went down to Egypt,Yahweh your God has now made you as many as the stars of heaven.'
