Salmi 91

BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 (Salmo. Cantico. Nel giorno di sabato).	1 You who live in the secret place of Elyon, spend your nights in the shelter of Shaddai,
2 E' bello dar lode al Signore, cantar inni al tuo nome, o Altissimo,	2 saying to Yahweh, 'My refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!'
3 Per proclamare al mattino la tua misericordia, e la tua fedeltà durante la notte,	3 He rescues you from the snare of the fowler set on destruction;
4 Sul decacordo, sul salterò, col canto sulla cetra.	4 he covers you with his pinions, you find shelter under his wings. His constancy is shield andprotection.
5 Mi hai fatto rallegrare, o Signore, colle cose da te create, ed io esulterò per le opere delle tue mani.	5 You need not fear the terrors of night, the arrow that flies in the daytime,
6 Come son magnifiche le tue opere, o Signore! Quanto son profondi i tuoi pensieri!	6 the plague that stalks in the darkness, the scourge that wreaks havoc at high noon.
7 L'insensato non lo riconoscerà, lo stolto non capirà queste cose.	7 Though a thousand fal at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, you yourself wil remainunscathed.
8 Sebbene i peccatori sian venuti su come l'erba, e faccian comparsa tutti gli operatori d'iniquità, essi periranno per sempre;	8 You have only to keep your eyes open to see how the wicked are repaid,
9 Tu invece sei l'Altissimo in eterno, o Signore.	9 you who say, 'Yahweh my refuge!' and make Elyon your fortress.
10 Infatti i tuoi nemici, o Signore, i tuoi nemici, ecco, periranno, e tutti gli operatori d'iniquità saran dispersi.	10 No disaster can overtake you, no plague come near your tent;
11 E sarà esaltata la mia forza come quella del liocorno, e la mia vecchiaia per copiosa misericordia.	11 he has given his angels orders about you to guard you wherever you go.
12 Il mio occhio può guardare con disprezzo i miei nemici, e il mio orecchio sentirà parlare dei maligni insorti contro di me.	12 They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.
13 Il giusto fiorirà come palma, crescerà come il cedro del Libano.	13 You wil walk upon wild beast and adder, you wil trample young lions and snakes.
14 Trapiantati nella casa del Signore, fioriranno negli atrii della casa del nostro Dio.	14 'Since he clings to me I rescue him, I raise him high, since he acknowledges my name.
15 Si moltiplicheranno anche in feconda vecchiaia, e si troveranno in sì buone condizioni	15 He cal s to me and I answer him: in distress I am at his side, I rescue him and bring him honour.
16 Da proclamare che retto è il Signore Dio nostro e che in lui non c'è ingiustizia.	16 I shal satisfy him with long life, and grant him to see my salvation.'
