1 And it happened that, in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 L'anno duodecimo, il duodecimo mese, il primo del mese, la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:
2 “Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and you shall say to him: You are like the lion of the Gentiles, and like the dragon that is in the sea. And you brandished a horn among your rivers, and you disturbed the waters with your feet, and you trampled upon their rivers.	2 « Figlio dell'uomo, pronunzia una lamentazione sopra Faraone, re d'Egitto, e di' a lui: Tu fosti simile ad un leone fra le nazioni, al dragone che sta nel mare, e agitavi il corno nei tuoi fiumi, e coi piedi intorbidavi le acque e ne calpestavi i canali.
3 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: I will spread my net over you, with the multitude of many peoples, and I will draw you into my dragnet.	3 Per questo, così parla il Signore Dio: Io stenderò sopra di te la mia rete con una moltitudine di popoli, e ti tirerò fuori colla mia rete,
4 And I will throw you upon the land. I will cast you upon the surface of the field. And I will cause all the birds of the air to live upon you. And I will satiate the beasts of the entire earth with you.	4 e ti getterò sulla terra, e ti abbandonerò in mezzo ai campi, e farò posare sopra di te tutti gli uccelli del cielo, e con te sazierò le bestie di tutta la terra;
5 And I will place your flesh upon the mountains. And I will fill up your hills with your decaying flesh.	5 e spargerò le tue carni sopra i monti, ed empirò i colli del tuo marciume.
6 And I will irrigate the earth with your rotting blood upon the mountains. And the valleys will be filled with you.	6 E irrigherò la terra col bottino del tuo sangue fin sopra i monti, e di te saran piene le valli.
7 And I will cover heaven, when you will have been extinguished. And I will cause its stars to grow dark. I will shroud the sun with gloom, and the moon will not give her light.	7 E quando sarai morto coprirò il cielo e farò oscurare le sue stelle; coprirò di nubi il sole, e la luna non darà più la sua luce.
8 I will cause all the lights of heaven to grieve over you. And I will bring darkness upon your land, says the Lord God, when your wounded will have fallen in the midst of the land, says the Lord God.	8 Per te metterò in lutto tutti i luminari del cielo, e spanderò le tenebre sopra la tua terra — dice il Signore Dio — quando i tuoi cadran feriti in mezzo alla terra — dice il Signore Dio —
9 And I will provoke the heart of many peoples to anger, when I will have led in your destruction among the Gentiles, over the lands that you have not known.	9 e riempirò di spavento il cuore di molti popoli quando farò arrivare (la notizia) della tua rovina alle nazioni, in terre che non conosci
10 And I will cause many peoples to be stupefied over you. And their kings will be afraid, with great horror, over you, when my sword will begin to fly above their faces. And suddenly, they will be struck with astonishment, each one concerning his own life, on the day of their ruination.	10 e riguardo a te farò stupire molti popoli, e pel tuo caso i loro re tremeranno pel grande spavento, quando comincerà a lampeggiare la mia spada davanti a loro e saran presi da improvviso spavento, ciascuno per la vita, nel giorno della tua rovina.
11 For thus says the Lord God: The sword of the king of Babylon will come to you.	11 Infatti così parla il Signore Dio: La spada del re di Babilonia verrà sopra di te.
12 By the swords of the strong, I will cast down your multitude. All these nations are invincible, and they will lay waste to the arrogance of Egypt, and so its multitude will be destroyed.	12 Io farò cadere la tua moltitudine sotto le spade dei forti, degli invincibili fra tutti i popoli, e abbatteranno la superbia dell'Egitto, e la sua moltitudine sarà sterminata.
13 And I will perish all its cattle, which were above the many waters. And the foot of man will no longer disturb them, and the hoof of cattle will no longer trouble them.	13 E farò sparire tutto il suo bestiame pascolante lungo le grandi acque, che non saran più intorbidate dal piede dell'uomo, non saranno più intorbidate dallo zoccolo dei giumenti.
14 Then I will cause their waters to be very pure, and their rivers to be like oil, says the Lord God,	14 Allora renderò limpidissime le loro acque e farò scorrere i loro fiumi come l'olio — dice il Signore Dio, —
15 when I will have set the land of Egypt in desolation. And the land will be deprived of her plenitude, when I will have struck all its inhabitants. And they shall know that I am the Lord.	15 quando avrò ridotto la terra d'Egitto a un deserto; e la terra sarà spogliata di tutto ciò che contiene, quando avrò percossi tutti i suoi abitanti; e sapranno che io sono il Signore.
16 This is the lamentation. And they shall lament it. The daughters of the Gentiles shall lament it. They shall lament it over Egypt and over its multitude, says the Lord God.”	16 Questa è la lamentazione, e sarà cantata e la canteranno le lìglie delle nazioni, la canteranno sopra l'Egitto e sopra il suo popolo — dice il Signore Dio ».
17 And it happened that, in the twelfth year, on the fifteenth of the month, the word of the Lord came to me saying:	17 L'anno duodecimo, ai quindici del mese, la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:
18 “Son of man, sing mournfully over the multitude of Egypt. And cast her down, both her and the daughters of the robust nations, to the lowest part of the earth, with those who descend into the pit.	18 « Figlio dell'uomo, canta una lamentazione sopra il popolo dell'Egitto, e fa precipitare lui e le figlie delle potenti nazioni nelle profondità della terra, con quelli che discendono nella fossa.
19 Whom do you exceed in beauty? Descend and sleep with the uncircumcised!	19 In che sei più bello? Scendi e dormi cogli incirconcisi!
20 They will fall by the sword in the midst of the slain. The sword has been given. They have dragged her down, with all her people.	20 Essi cadranno fra quelli uccisi dalla spada: la spada è stata consegnata: hanno abbattuto (l'Egitto) e tutti i suoi popoli.
21 The most powerful among the strong will speak to him from the midst of hell, those who descended with his helpers and who went to sleep uncircumcised, slain by the sword.	21 I più potenti dei guerrieri rivolgeranno a lui la parola di mezzo all'inferno, quelli discesi con i suoi ausiliari, morirono incirconcisi, uccisi dalla spada.
22 Assur is in that place, with all his multitude. Their graves are all around him: all of the slain and those who fell by the sword.	22 Ivi è Assur con tutto il suo popolo, intorno a lui sono i suoi sepolcri: tutti gli uccisi, tutti i caduti sotto la spada.
23 Their graves have been placed in the lowest parts of the pit. And his multitude was stationed on all sides of his grave: all of the slain, and those who fell by the sword, who formerly spread terror in the land of the living.	23 I suoi sepolcri son posti nel più profondo della fossa, e il suo popolo giace intorno al suo sepolcro: tutti uccisi e caduti sotto la spada, quelli che una volta avevano sparso il terrore nella terra dei viventi.
24 Elam is in that place, with all his multitude, on all sides of his grave, all those who were slain or who fell by the sword, who descended uncircumcised to the lowest part of the earth, who caused their terror in the land of the living. And they have borne their disgrace, with those who descend into the pit.	24 Ivi è Elam con tutto il suo popolo, intorno al suo sepolcro: tutti uccisi, abbattuti dalla spada; questi incirconcisi discesero nel più profondo della terra, essi, che avevano sparso il terrore nella terra dei viventi, han portato la loro ignominia con quelli che discendono nella fossa.
25 They have appointed him a place to lie among all his people, in the midst of the slain. Their graves are all around him. All these are uncircumcised and were slain by the sword. For they spread their terror in the land of the living, and they have borne their disgrace, with those who descend into the pit. They have been stationed in the midst of the slain.	25 In mezzo agli uccisi, hanno posto il suo giaciglio fra tutti i suoi popoli, i quali hanno intorno a lui i loro sepolcri. Questi incirconcisi abbattuti dalla spada sparsero il loro terrore nella terra dei viventi, ed han portata la loro ignominia con quelli discesi nella fossa: giacciono in mezzo agli uccisi.
26 Meshech and Tubal are in that place, with all their multitude. Their graves are all around him: all these are uncircumcised, and they were slain and fell by the sword. For they spread their terror in the land of the living.	26 Ivi è Mosoc e Tubai con tutto il suo popolo: intorno a lui sono i suoi sepolcri: tutti questi incirconcisi sono stati uccisi, e abbattuti dalla spada per avere sparso il loro terrore nella terra dei viventi.
27 But they shall not sleep with the strong, and with those who also fell uncircumcised, who descended to hell with their weapons, and who placed their swords under their heads, while their iniquities were in their bones. For they were the terror of the strong in the land of the living.	27 Essi non giaceranno coi forti, con i caduti e gli incirconcisi, discesi nell'inferno colle loro armi, e sotto la testa dei quali hanno messo le loro spade; ma le loro iniquità son penetrate nelle loro ossa, perchè erano il terrore dei forti nella terra dei viventi.
28 Therefore, you also will be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and you will sleep with those who were slain by the sword.	28 Anche tu dunque sarai calpestato tra gli incirconcisi e giacerai cogli uccisi dalla spada.
29 Idumea is in that place, with her kings and all her commanders, who with their army have been given to those who were slain by the sword. And they have slept with the uncircumcised and with those who descend into the pit.	29 Ivi l'Idumea, i suoi re, i suoi condottieri, i quali coi loro eserciti sono stati messi fra quelli uccisi dalla spada; anch'essi giacciono cogli incirconcisi, e con quelli discesi nella fossa.
30 All the leaders of the north are in that place, with all the hunters, who were brought down with the slain, fearful and confounded in their strength, who have gone to sleep uncircumcised, with those who were slain by the sword. And they have borne their disgrace, with those who descend into the pit.	30 Ivi tutti i principi del settentrione e tutti i cacciatori, discesi, pieni di paura, tra gli uccisi con tutta la loro fortezza sono confusi. Questi incirconcisi giacciono tra quei che periron di spada, e portan la loro ignominia con quelli discesi nella fossa.
31 Pharaoh saw them, and he was consoled over all his multitude, which was slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his army, says the Lord God.	31 Faraone li ha visti e si consolò a causa di tutto il suo popolo ucciso dalla spada, Faraone e tutto il suo esercito — dice il Signore Dio.
32 For I have spread my terror in the land of the living, and he has gone to sleep in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who were slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord God.”	32 Siccome io ho sparso il mio terrore nella terra dei viventi, eccolo a dormire in mezzo agli incirconcisi con quelli uccisi dalla spada, Faraone e tutto il suo popolo — dice il Signore Dio ».
