1 And it happened that, in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 La douzième année, le premier jour du douzième mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 “Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and you shall say to him: You are like the lion of the Gentiles, and like the dragon that is in the sea. And you brandished a horn among your rivers, and you disturbed the waters with your feet, and you trampled upon their rivers.	2 “Fils d’homme, prononce un chant funèbre sur le Pharaon, roi d’Égypte. Tu diras ceci: Quoi, le lion des nations a disparu? Tu étais comme le dragon des mers; tu faisais bouillonner les eaux, de tes pattes tu en remuais les eaux et tu troublais les flots.
3 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: I will spread my net over you, with the multitude of many peoples, and I will draw you into my dragnet.	3 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: J’étendrai sur toi mon filet et je te tirerai sur le rivage avec mes cordes.
4 And I will throw you upon the land. I will cast you upon the surface of the field. And I will cause all the birds of the air to live upon you. And I will satiate the beasts of the entire earth with you.	4 Je t’abandonnerai sur le sol, je te jetterai sur la face des champs, je ferai descendre sur toi tous les oiseaux du ciel, les bêtes de la terre te dévoreront.
5 And I will place your flesh upon the mountains. And I will fill up your hills with your decaying flesh.	5 J’exposerai tes chairs sur les montagnes, je remplirai les vallées de tes restes
6 And I will irrigate the earth with your rotting blood upon the mountains. And the valleys will be filled with you.	6 et j’arroserai le pays de ton sang
7 And I will cover heaven, when you will have been extinguished. And I will cause its stars to grow dark. I will shroud the sun with gloom, and the moon will not give her light.	7 au jour de ta mort. Je couvrirai les cieux et j’obscurcirai les étoiles, je couvrirai le soleil de nuages et la lune ne donnera plus sa clarté.
8 I will cause all the lights of heaven to grieve over you. And I will bring darkness upon your land, says the Lord God, when your wounded will have fallen in the midst of the land, says the Lord God.	8 À cause de toi j’éteindrai toutes les étoiles du ciel et je répandrai les ténèbres sur ton pays, parole de Yahvé.
9 And I will provoke the heart of many peoples to anger, when I will have led in your destruction among the Gentiles, over the lands that you have not known.	9 Beaucoup de peuples seront troublés lorsque j’annoncerai ta ruine à des nations, à des pays que tu ne connaissais pas.
10 And I will cause many peoples to be stupefied over you. And their kings will be afraid, with great horror, over you, when my sword will begin to fly above their faces. And suddenly, they will be struck with astonishment, each one concerning his own life, on the day of their ruination.	10 De nombreux peuples seront frappés d’épouvante en voyant ton sort, leurs rois seront pris de tremblements quand je ferai passer mon épée devant eux; chacun tremblera pour sa vie au jour de ta ruine.
11 For thus says the Lord God: The sword of the king of Babylon will come to you.	11 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: L’épée du roi de Babylone arrive chez toi.
12 By the swords of the strong, I will cast down your multitude. All these nations are invincible, and they will lay waste to the arrogance of Egypt, and so its multitude will be destroyed.	12 Je ferai tomber tes multitudes sous l’épée de ses guerriers, les tombeurs des peuples; ils abattront l’orgueil de l’Égypte et tout son monde sera exterminé.
13 And I will perish all its cattle, which were above the many waters. And the foot of man will no longer disturb them, and the hoof of cattle will no longer trouble them.	13 Je ferai périr tout son bétail au bord des grandes eaux; ni le pied de l’homme ni les sabots du bétail ne les troubleront plus.
14 Then I will cause their waters to be very pure, and their rivers to be like oil, says the Lord God,	14 Alors les eaux d’Égypte se calmeront, ses fleuves couleront comme l’huile - parole de Yahvé.
15 when I will have set the land of Egypt in desolation. And the land will be deprived of her plenitude, when I will have struck all its inhabitants. And they shall know that I am the Lord.	15 Je vais ravager l’Égypte; je frapperai ses habitants et elle sera vidée de tout: alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
16 This is the lamentation. And they shall lament it. The daughters of the Gentiles shall lament it. They shall lament it over Egypt and over its multitude, says the Lord God.”	16 Voilà le chant funèbre que chanteront les filles des nations; elles le chanteront à propos de l’Égypte et de son peuple, elles chanteront ce chant funèbre, parole de Yahvé.
17 And it happened that, in the twelfth year, on the fifteenth of the month, the word of the Lord came to me saying:	17 En la douzième année, le 15 du premier mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
18 “Son of man, sing mournfully over the multitude of Egypt. And cast her down, both her and the daughters of the robust nations, to the lowest part of the earth, with those who descend into the pit.	18 “Fils d’homme, lamente-toi sur la gloire de l’Égypte et fais-la descendre vers le séjour des morts avec tous ceux qui descendent dans la tombe.
19 Whom do you exceed in beauty? Descend and sleep with the uncircumcised!	19 32:20 Oui, elle descendra chez les victimes de l’épée: c’est là qu’on a placé tout son peuple.
20 They will fall by the sword in the midst of the slain. The sword has been given. They have dragged her down, with all her people.	20 32:21 Alors, du séjour des morts, les plus fameux et les plus puissants lui parleront:
21 The most powerful among the strong will speak to him from the midst of hell, those who descended with his helpers and who went to sleep uncircumcised, slain by the sword.	21 32:19 “Tu te croyais sans doute au-dessus des autres? Descends donc et couche-toi avec les incirconcis, toi et tes auxiliaires, descendez et couchez-vous avec les incirconcis qui sont tombés sous l’épée.”
22 Assur is in that place, with all his multitude. Their graves are all around him: all of the slain and those who fell by the sword.	22 Voilà Assour et toute son armée, ( ) tous massacrés.
23 Their graves have been placed in the lowest parts of the pit. And his multitude was stationed on all sides of his grave: all of the slain, and those who fell by the sword, who formerly spread terror in the land of the living.	23 On a placé leurs tombeaux dans les profondeurs du séjour des morts et toute cette armée entoure le tombeau d’Assour, Ceux qui répandaient la terreur sur la terre des vivants ont tous été massacrés par l’épée.
24 Elam is in that place, with all his multitude, on all sides of his grave, all those who were slain or who fell by the sword, who descended uncircumcised to the lowest part of the earth, who caused their terror in the land of the living. And they have borne their disgrace, with those who descend into the pit.	24 Voici Élam et tout son peuple regroupé autour de son tombeau. Eux aussi répandaient la terreur sur la terre des vivants, mais ils ont été massacrés par l’épée; ils sont descendus incirconcis au séjour des morts, emportant leur honte chez ceux qui descendent dans la tombe.
25 They have appointed him a place to lie among all his people, in the midst of the slain. Their graves are all around him. All these are uncircumcised and were slain by the sword. For they spread their terror in the land of the living, and they have borne their disgrace, with those who descend into the pit. They have been stationed in the midst of the slain.	25 ( ) On les a placés au milieu des victimes.
26 Meshech and Tubal are in that place, with all their multitude. Their graves are all around him: all these are uncircumcised, and they were slain and fell by the sword. For they spread their terror in the land of the living.	26 Voici Méchek, voici Toubal et tout son peuple dans les tombeaux qui l’entourent; tous ces incirconcis répandaient la terreur sur la terre des vivants, et puis ils sont tombés sous l’épée.
27 But they shall not sleep with the strong, and with those who also fell uncircumcised, who descended to hell with their weapons, and who placed their swords under their heads, while their iniquities were in their bones. For they were the terror of the strong in the land of the living.	27 Tous sont couchés avec les héros d’autrefois, car ces hommes sont descendus au séjour des morts les armes à la main. On a placé leur épée sous leur tête et leur bouclier sous leurs ossements, car c’est leur vaillance qui les faisait craindre sur la terre des vivants.
28 Therefore, you also will be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and you will sleep with those who were slain by the sword.	28 Mais toi, c’est au milieu des incirconcis que tu te coucheras, avec les victimes de l’épée.
29 Idumea is in that place, with her kings and all her commanders, who with their army have been given to those who were slain by the sword. And they have slept with the uncircumcised and with those who descend into the pit.	29 Voici Édom, ses rois et ses chefs; malgré leur courage, ils ont été livrés à l’épée comme les autres. Ils sont couchés avec les incirconcis, avec ceux qui descendent dans la tombe.
30 All the leaders of the north are in that place, with all the hunters, who were brought down with the slain, fearful and confounded in their strength, who have gone to sleep uncircumcised, with those who were slain by the sword. And they have borne their disgrace, with those who descend into the pit.	30 Voici tous les princes du nord, et les hommes de Sidon: ils sont descendus avec tout leur prestige, en dépit de leur vaillance. Ils sont couchés incirconcis au milieu des victimes de l’épée, ils ont emporté leur honte chez ceux qui descendent à la tombe.
31 Pharaoh saw them, and he was consoled over all his multitude, which was slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his army, says the Lord God.	31 En les voyant le Pharaon se consolera de son armée tombée sous l’épée - parole de Yahvé.
32 For I have spread my terror in the land of the living, and he has gone to sleep in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who were slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord God.”	32 Lui qui répandait la terreur sur la terre des vivants, on le couchera parmi les incirconcis, parmi les victimes de l’épée, et avec lui toute son armée - parole de Yahvé.
