Isaiah 54

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Shout for joy, barren one who has borne no children! Break into cries and shouts of joy, you who werenever in labour! For the children of the forsaken one are more in number than the children of the wedded wife,says Yahweh.	1 Giubila, o sterile, che non hai generato; prorompi in giubilo ed esulta, tu che non hai avuto le doglie! Perché i figli dell'abbandonata sono più numerosi dei figli della maritata, dice il Signore.
2 Widen the space of your tent, extend the curtains of your home, do not hold back! Lengthen your ropes,make your tent-pegs firm,	2 Allarga lo spazio della tua tenda, distendi i teli delle tue dimore senza risparmio! Allunga le tue corde, fissa bene i tuoi pioli,
3 for you wil burst out to right and to left, your race wil dispossess the nations and repopulate desertedtowns.	3 perché ti espanderai a destra e a sinistra; la tua discendenza possederà le nazioni e popolerà le città abbandonate.
4 Do not fear, you wil not be put to shame again, do not worry, you will not be disgraced again; for youwil forget the shame of your youth and no longer remember the dishonour of your widowhood.	4 Non temere, perché non sarai confusa, non aver vergogna, perché non dovrai arrossire. Anzi dimenticherai l'onta della tua giovinezza, e non ricorderai più il disonore della tua vedovanza.
5 For your Creator is your husband, Yahweh Sabaoth is his name, the Holy One of Israel is yourredeemer, he is cal ed God of the whole world.	5 Poiché tuo sposo è il tuo creatore, il cui nome è Signore degli eserciti; il tuo redentore è il Santo d'Israele, chiamato Dio di tutta la terra.
6 Yes, Yahweh has cal ed you back like a forsaken, grief-stricken wife, like the repudiated wife of hisyouth, says your God.	6 Sì, come una donna abbandonata e afflitta di spirito, ti chiama il Signore; la donna sposata in gioventù viene forse ripudiata?, dice il tuo Dio.
7 I did forsake you for a brief moment, but in great compassion I shal take you back.	7 Ti ho abbandonata per un breve istante, ma ti riprenderò con grande compassione.
8 In a flood of anger, for a moment I hid my face from you. But in everlasting love I have taken pity onyou, says Yahweh, your redeemer.	8 In un eccesso di collera ho nascosto per un istante la mia faccia da te, ma con eterno amore ho avuto pietà di te, dice il tuo redentore, il Signore.
9 For me it wil be as in the days of Noah when I swore that Noah's waters should never flood the worldagain. So now I swear never to be angry with you and never to rebuke you again.	9 Faccio come ai giorni di Noè, quando giurai che le acque di Noè non avrebbero più inondato la terra; così giuro di non adirarmi più contro di te e di non inveire più contro di te.
10 For the mountains may go away and the hil s may totter, but my faithful love wil never leave you, mycovenant of peace will never totter, says Yahweh who takes pity on you.	10 Poiché i monti possono spostarsi e i colli vacillare, ma la mia benevolenza non si allontanerà da te e il mio patto di pace non vacillerà, dice il Signore, che ha misericordia di te.
11 Unhappy creature, storm-tossed, unpitied, look, I shal lay your stones on agates and your foundationson sapphires.	11 Afflitta, battuta, sconsolata! Ecco, io pongo le tue pietre sulla malachite e ti fonderò sugli zaffiri.
12 I shal make your battlements rubies, your gateways firestone and your entire wal precious stones.	12 Farò di rubini le tue merlature, le tue porte di pietra di smeraldo e tutto il recinto di pietre preziose.
13 Al your children wil be taught by Yahweh and great wil be your children's prosperity.	13 Tutti i tuoi figli saranno istruiti dal Signore, grande sarà la pace dei tuoi figli.
14 In saving justice you will be made firm, free from oppression: you will have nothing to fear; free fromterror: it wil not approach you.	14 Tu sarai fondata sulla giustizia. Tienti lontana dalla violenza, perché non avrai più a temere, e dal terrore, perché non si avvicinerà più a te.
15 Should anyone attack you, that wil not be my doing, and whoever does attack you, for your sake willfal .	15 Ecco, non vi è chi attacca da parte mia; chi ti attacca, cadrà su di te.
16 I created the smith who blows on the charcoal-fire to produce a weapon for his use; I also created thedestroyer to ruin it.	16 Ecco, io ho creato il fabbro che soffia in un fuoco rovente, che trae uno strumento per il suo lavoro, e ho creato pure il guastatore per distruggere.
17 No weapon forged against you wil succeed. Any voice raised against you in court you will refute.Such is the lot of the servants of Yahweh, the saving justice I assure them, declares Yahweh.	17 Ogni arma forgiata contro di te fallirà, e tu condannerai ogni lingua che sorga contro di te in giudizio. Questa è la sorte dei servitori del Signore e il loro buon diritto da parte mia. Oracolo del Signore.
