Isaiah 54

1 Shout for joy, barren one who has borne no children! Break into cries and shouts of joy, you who werenever in labour! For the children of the forsaken one are more in number than the children of the wedded wife,says Yahweh.	1 Rallegrati, o sterile, che non partorisci: canta inni di laude, e di gioia tu, che non eri feconda; perchè molti più sono i figliuoli della abbandonata, che di colei, che avea marito, dice il Signore.
2 Widen the space of your tent, extend the curtains of your home, do not hold back! Lengthen your ropes,make your tent-pegs firm,	2 Prendi più ampio sito per le tue tende, e dilata senza risparmio le pelli de' tuoi padiglioni: allunga le tue funi, e rinforza i tuoi chiodi;
3 for you wil burst out to right and to left, your race wil dispossess the nations and repopulate desertedtowns.	3 Perocché tu ti farai largo a destra, ed a sinistra: e la tua prole signoreggerà le nazioni, e abiterà le città deserte.
4 Do not fear, you wil not be put to shame again, do not worry, you will not be disgraced again; for youwil forget the shame of your youth and no longer remember the dishonour of your widowhood.	4 Non temere: tu non sarai confusa né avrai da arrossire, né da vergonarti perchè della confusione di tua adolescenza non avrai più memoria, né dell'obbrobrio di tua vedovanza più ti sovverrà.
5 For your Creator is your husband, Yahweh Sabaoth is his name, the Holy One of Israel is yourredeemer, he is cal ed God of the whole world.	5 Imperocché tuo Signore sarà colui, che ti ha creata: il nome suo è, Signor degli eserciti, e il tuo Redentore, il Santo d'Israele sarà chiamato il Dio di tutta la terra.
6 Yes, Yahweh has cal ed you back like a forsaken, grief-stricken wife, like the repudiated wife of hisyouth, says your God.	6 Perocché come donna abbandonata, e afflitta di spirito ti ha chiamato il Signore, e come sposa repudiata ne' più verdi anni, dice il tuo Dio.
7 I did forsake you for a brief moment, but in great compassion I shal take you back.	7 Per un punto, per poco tempo ti ho abbandonata, e con grandi misericordie ti accoglierò.
8 In a flood of anger, for a moment I hid my face from you. But in everlasting love I have taken pity onyou, says Yahweh, your redeemer.	8 Nel momento dell'ira ascosi per poco a te il mio volto, e con sempiterna misericordia ho avuto di te pietà, dice il Signore, che t'ha redenta.
9 For me it wil be as in the days of Noah when I swore that Noah's waters should never flood the worldagain. So now I swear never to be angry with you and never to rebuke you again.	9 Questo è adesso per me come quando nei giorni di Noè io giurai di non mandar più sulla terra le acque: cosi ho giurato di non aver ira contro di te, e di non farti rimprovero;
10 For the mountains may go away and the hil s may totter, but my faithful love wil never leave you, mycovenant of peace will never totter, says Yahweh who takes pity on you.	10 Imperocché i monti saranno smossi, e i colli vacilleranno, ma la misericordia mia non ritirerassi da te, e la mia alleanza di pace sarà immobile: ha detto il Signore, che ha compassione di te.
11 Unhappy creature, storm-tossed, unpitied, look, I shal lay your stones on agates and your foundationson sapphires.	11 Poverella sbattuta dalla tempesta, e priva d'ogni consolazione. Ecco, che io disporrò per ordine le tue pietre, e i fondamenti tuoi farò di saffiri.
12 I shal make your battlements rubies, your gateways firestone and your entire wal precious stones.	12 E farò di jaspide i tuoi baluardi, e le tue porte di pietre scolpite, e tutto il tuo circuito di pietre preziose.
13 Al your children wil be taught by Yahweh and great wil be your children's prosperity.	13 Tutti i tuoi figliuoli avranno il Signore per maestro, e abbondanza di pace.
14 In saving justice you will be made firm, free from oppression: you will have nothing to fear; free fromterror: it wil not approach you.	14 E tu sarai fondata nella giustizia: tu sarai sicura dalla fraude, e non ne avrai da temere: e dallo spavento, che a te non si accosterà.
15 Should anyone attack you, that wil not be my doing, and whoever does attack you, for your sake willfal .	15 Ecco, che il forestiero, che non era con me, verrà, quegli, che una volta era straniero per te, si unirà teco.
16 I created the smith who blows on the charcoal-fire to produce a weapon for his use; I also created thedestroyer to ruin it.	16 Io ho creato il fabbro, che accende col soffio i carboni per formare uno strumento per l'opera sua, ed io ho creato l'uccisore, che stermina.
17 No weapon forged against you wil succeed. Any voice raised against you in court you will refute.Such is the lot of the servants of Yahweh, the saving justice I assure them, declares Yahweh.	17 Nissun'arme preparata contro di te farà colpo, e giudicherai qualunque e lingua, che resisterà a te in giudizio.
	18 Questa è l'eredità de' servi del Signore, e la loro giustizia è presso di me, dica il Signore.
