Isaiah 54

1 Shout for joy, barren one who has borne no children! Break into cries and shouts of joy, you who werenever in labour! For the children of the forsaken one are more in number than the children of the wedded wife,says Yahweh.	1 - Giubila, o sterile, che non partorisci, intona un cantico e inneggia, tu che non avevi nati, perchè molti più saranno i figli dell'abbandonata, che di colei che aveva marito, dice il Signore.
2 Widen the space of your tent, extend the curtains of your home, do not hold back! Lengthen your ropes,make your tent-pegs firm,	2 Allarga lo spazio della tua tenda, distendi i teli dei tuoi padiglioni senza risparmio, allunga le tue corde e rinforza i tuoi piuoli!
3 for you wil burst out to right and to left, your race wil dispossess the nations and repopulate desertedtowns.	3 Perchè andrai penetrando a destra e a sinistra, e il tuo seme occuperà i luoghi delle genti e ripopolerà le città deserte.
4 Do not fear, you wil not be put to shame again, do not worry, you will not be disgraced again; for youwil forget the shame of your youth and no longer remember the dishonour of your widowhood.	4 Non temere, perchè non sarai confusa, nè avrai da arrossire, nè da vergognarti; perchè della confusione della tua adolescenza non avrai più memoria e l'obbrobrio della tua vedovanza più non rammenterai.
5 For your Creator is your husband, Yahweh Sabaoth is his name, the Holy One of Israel is yourredeemer, he is cal ed God of the whole world.	5 Perchè tuo sposo sarà il tuo creatore; il suo nome è, Signore degli eserciti, e il tuo redentore, il Santo d'Israele, sarà chiamato Dio di tutta la terra.
6 Yes, Yahweh has cal ed you back like a forsaken, grief-stricken wife, like the repudiated wife of hisyouth, says your God.	6 Il Signore ti richiamerà, come donna abbandonata, dall'animo addolorato; come sposa condotta giovane e ripudiata, dice il tuo Dio.
7 I did forsake you for a brief moment, but in great compassion I shal take you back.	7 Per un breve istante ti ho abbandonata, ma di gran lunga maggiore sarà la misericordia con cui ti accoglierò.
8 In a flood of anger, for a moment I hid my face from you. But in everlasting love I have taken pity onyou, says Yahweh, your redeemer.	8 Nel momento dello sdegno ho nascosto un istante da te la mia faccia, e nella misericordia sempiterna ho avuto di te pietà, dice il tuo redentore, il Signore.
9 For me it wil be as in the days of Noah when I swore that Noah's waters should never flood the worldagain. So now I swear never to be angry with you and never to rebuke you again.	9 Non altrimenti dai giorni di Noè sarà per me questo: come giurai di non riversare mai più il diluvio di Noè sopra la terra, così ho giurato di non più sdegnarmi con te e di non più sgridarti.
10 For the mountains may go away and the hil s may totter, but my faithful love wil never leave you, mycovenant of peace will never totter, says Yahweh who takes pity on you.	10 Si smoveranno i monti, crolleranno i colli, ma la mia misericordia non sarà rimossa da te e la mia alleanza di pace sarà incrollabile, dice colui che ha misericordia di te, il Signore.
11 Unhappy creature, storm-tossed, unpitied, look, I shal lay your stones on agates and your foundationson sapphires.	11 Poveretta, sbattuta dalla tempesta e senza alcuna consolazione! Ecco che io ricomporrò in ordine le tue pietre, ti rifabbricherò sopra fondamenta di zaffiri
12 I shal make your battlements rubies, your gateways firestone and your entire wal precious stones.	12 e di jaspide farò i tuoi propugnacoli e le tue porte di pietre scolpite e tutta la tua cinta di preziosi marmi,
13 Al your children wil be taught by Yahweh and great wil be your children's prosperity.	13 tutti i figli tuoi ammaestrati dal Signore darò a te, e abbondanza di pace alla tua figliolanza.
14 In saving justice you will be made firm, free from oppression: you will have nothing to fear; free fromterror: it wil not approach you.	14 E nella giustizia sarai ristabilita, lontana dall'oppressione, che non avrai più a temere, e dalla paura, poichè a te non si avvicinerà mai più.
15 Should anyone attack you, that wil not be my doing, and whoever does attack you, for your sake willfal .	15 Ecco verrà il forestiero che non era con me, e quegli che una volta era straniero a te, si unirà teco.
16 I created the smith who blows on the charcoal-fire to produce a weapon for his use; I also created thedestroyer to ruin it.	16 Ecco, io ho creato il fabbro che avvampa col soffio i carboni e ne trae l'arma dell'opera sua; io ho creato l'uccisore per spargere lo sterminio.
17 No weapon forged against you wil succeed. Any voice raised against you in court you will refute.Such is the lot of the servants of Yahweh, the saving justice I assure them, declares Yahweh.	17 Ogni strumento fabbricato contro di te non riuscirà, e ogni lingua che insorge per contrastarti, tu la giudicherai. Questo è il retaggio dei servi del Signore e la loro giustizia è affidata a me, dice il Signore.
