1 Al eluia! When Israel came out of Egypt, the House of Jacob from a people of foreign speech,	1 ܟܕ ܢܦܩ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܕܒܝܬ ܝܥܩܘܒ ܡܢ ܥܡܐ ܠܥܘܙܐ
2 Judah became his sanctuary, and Israel his domain.	2 ܗܘܐ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܩܘܕܫܗ ܘܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܗ
3 The sea fled at the sight, the Jordan turned back,	3 ܝܡܐ ܚܙܝܗܝ ܘܥܪܩ ܘܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܗܦܟ ܠܒܣܬܪܗ
4 the mountains skipped like rams, the hil s like sheep.	4 ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܪܩܕܘ ܐܝܟ ܐܝ̈ܠܐ ܘܪ̈ܡܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܐܡܪ̈ܐ ܕܥܢܐ
5 Sea, what makes you flee? Jordan, why turn back?	5 ܡܐ ܠܟ ܝܡܐ ܕܥܪܩܬ ܘܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܕܗܦܟܬ ܠܒܣܬܪܟ
6 Why skip like rams, you mountains? Why like sheep, you hills?	6 ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܪܩܕܬܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܐ̈ܝܠܐ ܘܪ̈ܡܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܐܡܪ̈ܐ ܕܥܢܐ
7 Tremble, earth, at the coming of the Lord, at the coming of the God of Jacob,	7 ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܙܥܬ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܐܠܗܗ ܕܝܥܩܘܒ
8 who turns rock into pool, flint into fountain.	8 ܕܗܦܟ ܛܪܢܐ ܠܐ̈ܓܡܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܘܟܐܦܐ ܫܪܝܪܬܐ ܠܡܒ̈ܘܥܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ
