1 They brought in the ark of God and set it within the tent which David had pitched for it. Then they offered up holocausts and peace offerings to God.	1 Man trug die Lade Gottes in das Zelt, das David für sie aufgestellt hatte, setzte sie an ihren Platz in der Mitte des Zeltes und brachte Brand- und Heilsopfer vor Gott dar.
2 When David had finished offering up the holocausts and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD,	2 Als David mit dem Darbringen der Brand- und Heilsopfer fertig war, segnete er das Volk im Namen des Herrn
3 and distributed to every Israelite, to every man and every woman, a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a raisin cake.	3 und ließ an alle Israeliten, Männer und Frauen, je einen Laib Brot, einen Dattelkuchen und einen Traubenkuchen austeilen.
4 He now appointed certain Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to celebrate, thank, and praise the LORD, the God of Israel.	4 David bestellte für den Dienst vor der Lade des Herrn Leviten, die den Herrn, den Gott Israels, rühmen, loben und preisen sollten.
5 Asaph was their chief, and second to him were Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel. These were to play on harps and lyres, while Asaph was to sound the cymbals,	5 Er bestellte Asaf als ersten, Secharja als zweiten, ferner Jaasiël, Schemiramot, Jehiël, Mattitja, Eliab, Benaja, Obed-Edom und Jëiël. Sie sollten die Harfen und Zithern spielen, Asaf die Zimbeln schlagen
6 and the priests Benaiah and Jahaziel were to be the regular trumpeters before the ark of the covenant of God.	6 und die Priester Benaja und Jahasiël ständig die Trompeten blasen vor der Bundeslade Gottes.
7 Then, on that same day, David appointed Asaph and his brethren to sing for the first time these praises of the LORD:	7 An jenem Tag ließ David Asaf und seine Amtsbrüder zum ersten Mal diesen Lobpreis zur Ehre des Herrn vortragen:
8 Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the nations his deeds.	8 Dankt dem Herrn! Ruft seinen Namen an! Macht unter den Völkern seine Taten bekannt!
9 Sing to him, sing his praise, proclaim all his wondrous deeds.	9 Singt ihm und spielt ihm, sinnt nach über all seine Wunder!
10 Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!	10 Rühmt euch seines heiligen Namens! Alle, die den Herrn suchen, sollen sich von Herzen freuen.
11 Look to the LORD in his strength; seek to serve him constantly.	11 Fragt nach dem Herrn und seiner Macht, sucht sein Antlitz allezeit!
12 Recall the wondrous deeds that he has wrought, his portents, and the judgments he has uttered,	12 Denkt an die Wunder, die er getan hat, an seine Zeichen und die Beschlüsse aus seinem Mund!
13 You descendants of Israel, his servants, sons of Jacob, his chosen ones!	13 Bedenkt es, ihr Nachkommen seines Knechtes Abraham, ihr Kinder Jakobs, die er erwählt hat!
14 He, the LORD, is our God; throughout the earth his judgments prevail.	14 Er, der Herr, ist unser Gott. Seine Herrschaft umgreift die Erde.
15 He remembers forever his covenant which he made binding for a thousand generations--	15 Ewig denkt er an seinen Bund, an das Wort, das er gegeben hat für tausend Geschlechter,
16 Which he entered into with Abraham and by his oath to Isaac;	16 an den Bund, den er mit Abraham geschlossen, an den Eid, den er Isaak geschworen hat.
17 Which he established for Jacob by statute, for Israel as an everlasting covenant,	17 Er bestimmte ihn als Satzung für Jakob, als ewigen Bund für Israel.

21 He let no one oppress them, and for their sake he rebuked kings:	21 da ließ er sie von niemand bedrücken, wies ihretwegen Könige zurecht:
22 "Touch not my anointed, and to my prophets do no harm."	22 Tastet meine Gesalbten nicht an, tut meinen Propheten nichts zuleide!
23 Sing to the LORD, all the earth, announce his salvation, day after day	23 Singt dem Herrn, alle Länder der Erde! Verkündet sein Heil von Tag zu Tag!
24 Tell his glory among the nations; among all peoples, his wondrous deeds.	24 Erzählt bei den Völkern von seiner Herrlichkeit, bei allen Nationen von seinen Wundern!
25 For great is the LORD and highly to be praised; and awesome is he, beyond all gods.	25 Denn groß ist der Herr und hoch zu preisen, mehr zu fürchten als alle Götter.
26 For all the gods of the nations are things of nought, but the LORD made the heavens.	26 Alle Götter der Heiden sind nichtig, der Herr aber hat den Himmel geschaffen.
27 Splendor and majesty go before him; praise and joy are in his holy place.	27 Hoheit und Pracht sind vor seinem Angesicht, Macht und Glanz in seinem Heiligtum.
28 Give to the LORD, you families of nations, give to the LORD glory and praise;	28 Bringt dar dem Herrn, ihr Stämme der Völker, bringt dar dem Herrn Lob und Ehre!
29 Give to the LORD the glory due his name! Bring gifts, and enter his presence; worship the LORD in holy attire.	29 Bringt dar dem Herrn die Ehre seines Namens, spendet Opfergaben und tretet vor ihn hin! In heiligem Schmuck werft euch nieder vor dem Herrn,
30 Tremble before him, all the earth; he has made the world firm, not to be moved.	30 erbebt vor ihm, alle Länder der Erde! Den Erdkreis hat er gegründet, sodass er nicht wankt.
31 Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let them say among the nations: The LORD is king.	31 Der Himmel freue sich, die Erde frohlocke. Verkündet bei den Völkern: Der Herr ist König.
32 Let the sea and what fills it resound; let the plains rejoice and all that is in them!	32 Es brause das Meer und alles, was es erfüllt, es jauchze die Flur und was auf ihr wächst.
33 Then shall all the trees of the forest exult before the LORD, for he comes: he comes to rule the earth.	33 Jubeln sollen alle Bäume des Waldes vor dem Herrn, wenn er kommt, um die Erde zu richten.
34 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his kindness endures forever;	34 Danket dem Herrn, denn er ist gütig, denn seine Huld währt ewig.
35 And say, "Save us, O God, our savior, gather us and deliver us from the nations, That we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in praising you."	35 Sagt: Hilf uns, du Gott unsres Heils, führe uns zusammen, rette uns vor den Völkern! Wir wollen deinen heiligen Namen preisen, uns rühmen, weil wir dich loben dürfen.
36 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, through all eternity! Let all the people say, Amen! Alleluia.	36 Gepriesen sei der Herr, der Gott Israels, vom Anfang bis ans Ende der Zeiten. Und das ganze Volk rief: Amen, und: Lob sei dem Herrn.
37 Then David left Asaph and his brethren there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister before the ark regularly according to the daily ritual;	37 Auf Befehl Davids blieben Asaf und seine Brüder vor der Bundeslade des Herrn, um dauernd den täglichen Dienst bei ihr zu verrichten.
38 he also left there Obed-edom and sixty-eight of his brethren, including Obed-edom, son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, to be gatekeepers.	38 Bei ihnen waren Obed-Edom und seine Brüder, achtundsechzig Mann. Obed-Edom, der Sohn Jedutuns, und Hosa waren Torwächter.
39 But the priest Zadok and his priestly brethren he left before the Dwelling of the LORD on the high place at Gibeon,	39 Dem Priester Zadok aber und seinen Amtsbrüdern, den Priestern, übertrug er den Dienst vor der Wohnstätte des Herrn auf der Kulthöhe in Gibeon.
40 to offer holocausts to the LORD on the altar of holocausts regularly, morning and evening, and to do all that is written in the law of the LORD which he has decreed for Israel.	40 Sie sollten täglich am Morgen und am Abend auf dem Brandopferaltar dem Herrn Opfer darbringen und alles ausführen, was im Gesetz geschrieben steht, auf das der Herr die Israeliten verpflichtet hat.
41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the others who were chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the LORD, "because his kindness endures forever,"	41 Bei ihnen waren Heman und Jedutun sowie die anderen, die ausgewählt und namentlich dazu bestimmt waren, den Herrn zu loben: «Denn seine Huld währt ewig.»
42 with trumpets and cymbals for accompaniment, and instruments for the sacred chant. The sons of Jeduthun kept the gate.	42 Heman und Jedutun hatten Trompeten und Zimbeln für die Spieler und Instrumente für die Gotteslieder. Die Söhne Jedutuns waren für das Tor bestellt.
43 Then all the people departed, each to his own home, and David returned to bless his household.	43 Dann ging das ganze Volk wieder nach Hause. Auch David ging heim, um seine Familie zu begrüßen.
