1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,	1 Allora Bildad il suchita prese la parola e disse:
2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?	2 "Fino a quando dirai simili cose, e un vento impetuoso saranno le parole della tua bocca?
3 Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?	3 Può forse Dio far deviare il giudizio, e l'Onnipotente sconvolgere la giustizia?
4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;	4 Se i tuoi figli hanno peccato contro di lui, egli li ha abbandonati alla loro iniquità.
5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;	5 Se tu ricercherai Dio, e implorerai l'Onnipotente,
6 If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.	6 se sei onesto e retto, certamente fin d'ora veglierà su di te e ti ristabilirà nella tua giustizia.
7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.	7 La tua primitiva condizione sarà poca cosa accanto al tuo magnifico futuro.
8 For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:	8 Interroga, di grazia, le generazioni passate e rifletti sull'esperienza dei loro padri;
9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)	9 noi infatti siamo di ieri e non sappiamo nulla, poiché i nostri giorni sulla terra sono come un'ombra.
10 Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?	10 Ma essi ti istruiranno, ti informeranno traendo le parole dal loro cuore.
11 Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?	11 Cresce forse il papiro fuori della palude e si sviluppa forse il giunco senz'acqua?
12 Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.	12 Ancora in germoglio, non buono per tagliarlo, si secca prima di tutte le altre verdure.
13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:	13 Tale è il destino di coloro che dimenticano Dio, e così svanisce la speranza dell'empio.
14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.	14 La sua fiducia è come un filo e una tela di ragno è la sua sicurezza.
15 He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.	15 Cerca appoggio sulla sua casa, ma essa non tiene, vi si aggrappa, ma essa non regge.
16 He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.	16 E' albero rigoglioso in faccia al sole e sopra il giardino si spandono i suoi rami;
17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.	17 le sue radici s'intrecciano nella pietraia, esplora i crepacci delle rocce.
18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.	18 Ma se lo si strappa dal suo posto, questo lo rinnega: "Non ti ho mai visto".
19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.	19 Ecco la sorte della sua vita, mentre altri rispuntano dalla terra.
20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:	20 Vedi, Dio non rigetta l'uomo integro né presta man forte ai malfattori.
21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.	21 Può ancora colmare la tua bocca di sorriso e le tue labbra di giubilo.
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.	22 Coloro che ti odiano saranno coperti di vergogna e la tenda degli empi sparirà".
