1 Et maintenant, à vous ce commandement, prêtres!	1 And now, O priests, this command is to you.
2 Si vous n'écoutez pas, si vous ne prenez pas à coeur de donner gloire à mon Nom, dit YahvéSabaot, j'enverrai sur vous la malédiction et je maudirai votre bénédiction. En effet, je la maudirai, car il n'estpersonne parmi vous qui prenne cela à coeur.	2 If you will refuse to listen, and if you will refuse to take it to heart, so as to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, I will send destitution upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yes, I will curse them. For you have not taken it to heart.
3 Voici que je vais vous briser le bras et vous jeter des ordures à la figure - les ordures de vossolennités - et vous enlever avec elles.	3 Behold, I will cast forth an arm to you, and I will scatter across your face the dung of your solemnities, and it will take you to itself.
4 Et vous saurez que c'est moi qui vous ai adressé ce commandement pour que subsiste mon allianceavec Lévi, dit Yahvé Sabaot.	4 And you will know that I sent you this commandment, so that my covenant might be with Levi, says the Lord of hosts.
5 Mon alliance était avec lui, c'était vie et paix et je les lui accordais, crainte et il me craignait, etdevant mon Nom il avait révérence.	5 My covenant was with him for life and peace. And I gave him fear, and he feared me, and he was afraid before the face of my name.
6 L'enseignement de vérité était dans sa bouche et l'iniquité ne se trouvait pas sur ses lèvres; dansl'intégrité et la droiture il marchait avec moi; il en faisait revenir beaucoup de l'iniquité.	6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and integrity, and he turned away many from iniquity.
7 Car c'est aux lèvres du prêtre de garder le savoir et c'est de sa bouche qu'on recherchel'enseignement: il est messager de Yahvé Sabaot.	7 For the lips of the priests will keep knowledge, and they will request the law from his mouth, because he is an angel of the Lord of hosts.
8 Mais vous vous êtes écartés de la voie; vous en avez fait trébucher un grand nombre parl'enseignement; vous avez détruit l'alliance de Lévi! dit Yahvé Sabaot.	8 But you have withdrawn from the way, and you have scandalized very many in the law. You have nullified the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of hosts.
9 Et moi je vous ai rendus méprisables et vils pour tout le peuple, dans la mesure où vous n'avez pasgardé mes voies mais avez fait acception de personnes en votre enseignement.	9 Because of this, I also have made you contemptible and debased to all the people, just as you have not served my ways, and you have accepted a face in the law.
10 N'avons-nous pas tous un Père unique? N'est-ce pas un seul Dieu qui nous a créés? Pourquoidonc sommes-nous perfides l'un envers l'autre, en profanant l'alliance de nos pères?	10 Is there not one Father of us all? Did not one God create us? Why, then, does each one of us despise his brother, violating the covenant of our fathers?
11 Juda a agi en traître: une abomination a été perpétrée en Israël et à Jérusalem. Car Juda a profanéle sanctuaire cher à Yahvé. Il a épousé la fille d'un dieu étranger.	11 Judah has transgressed, and abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has contaminated the sanctified of the Lord, which he loved, and has held the daughter of a strange god.
12 Que Yahvé retranche, pour l'homme qui agit ainsi, le témoin et le défenseur, des tentes de Jacobet du groupe de ceux qui présentent l'offrande à Yahvé Sabaot!	12 The Lord will drive away the man who has done this, both the teacher and the disciple, from the tabernacles of Jacob and from those offering a gift to the Lord of hosts.
13 Voici une seconde chose que vous faites: vous couvrez de larmes l'autel de Yahvé, aveclamentations et gémissements, parce qu'il se refuse à se pencher sur l'offrande et à l'agréer de vos mains.	13 And you have done this repeatedly: you have covered the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and bellowing, to such an extent that I no longer have respect towards the sacrifice, nor do I accept any appeasement that is from your hands.
14 Et vous dites: Pourquoi? - C'est que Yahvé est témoin entre toi et la femme de ta jeunesse que tuas trahie, bien qu'elle fût ta compagne et la femme de ton alliance.	14 And you have said, “What is the reason for this?” It is because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, whom you have despised. Yet she was your partner, and the wife of your covenant.
15 N'a-t-il pas fait un seul être, qui a chair et souffle de vie? Et cet être unique, que cherche-t-il?Une postérité donnée par Dieu! Respect donc à votre vie, et la femme de ta jeunesse, ne la trahis point!	15 Did not One make her, and is she not the remainder of his spirit? And what does one seek, except offspring of God? So then, preserve your spirit, and do not despise the wife of your youth.
16 Car je hais la répudiation, dit Yahvé le Dieu d'Israël, et qu'on recouvre l'injustice de sonvêtement, dit Yahvé Sabaot. Respect donc à votre vie, et ne commettez pas cette trahison!	16 If you would hold hatred, dismiss her, says the Lord, the God of Israel. But iniquity will cover his garment, says the Lord of hosts. Preserve your spirit, and do not be willing to despise.
17 Vous fatiguez Yahvé avec vos discours! - Vous dites: En quoi le fatiguons-nous? - C'est quandvous dites: Quiconque fait le mal est bon aux yeux de Yahvé, en ces gens-là il met sa complaisance; ou encore:Où donc est le Dieu de la justice?	17 You have wearied the Lord with your speeches, and you have said, “In what way, have we wearied him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and such as these please him,” or certainly, “Where is the God of judgment?”
